Chapter Index

“No! I definitely can’t go tomorrow!”

“Exactly! Not even if I die!”

    “I can’t be soft-hearted anymore!”

“One wrong step leads to another. If I’m soft-hearted again, something might go wrong…”

Sleeping in his room that night, Lin Xun thought to himself with his hands pillowed behind his head.

That’s right, Lin Xun had eventually made it into the room.

Although Lin Xun had made a huge mistake during lunch today,

after Jiang Qingshang returned, Lin Xun made up for his mistake by constantly coaxing her.

Finally! Lin Xun was allowed into the room tonight.

    However…

Looking at Qinger, who was lying on her side with her back to him, Lin Xun, who was sleeping on the floor, sighed.

Even though he got into the room, he probably wouldn’t be able to sleep on the bed until tomorrow night.

“Qinger, are you asleep?” Lin Xun asked softly.

“I’m asleep.” Hearing Lin Xun’s voice, Jiang Qingshang’s delicate body trembled slightly. Moonlight fell through the window, spilling over the girl’s fair shoulders.

“Qinger, Qinger, are you still angry?” Lin Xun continued.

“Hmph, no, your wife isn’t angry at all.”

Despite what she said, Lin Xun could still hear a hint of anger in Qinger’s voice, though it was mostly just cute jealousy.

Actually, Lin Xun could understand. After all, Qinger had been cooking for him for nearly two years, yet he still got it wrong. It was already very good of her to let him back into the room.

But soon, Lin Xun’s eyes flickered as if he had thought of something: “Qinger, are you cold?”

    “Not cold.”

“But what if I’m cold?” Actually, Lin Xun wasn’t cold at all. Even though it was the middle of winter, he had two quilts under him and one over him. How could he be cold?

    “Liar.”

“Really, Qinger, I’m truly cold. Achoo!” Lin Xun intentionally sneezed. “In this deep winter, this quilt isn’t enough.”

    “I… I don’t believe you.”

“Qinger, if I freeze to death, you won’t have a husband anymore.” Sensing that Qinger was wavering slightly, Lin Xun intensified his efforts.

    “Qinger… Qinger?”

Lin Xun didn’t hear Jiang Qingshang’s voice again. Looking up, he saw that his Qinger had already pulled the quilt over her head.

Dammit, was his scheme seen through after all?

But honestly, it was one thing for Qinger to make him sleep on the floor, but why did she give him the three thickest quilts in the house to sleep on and cover himself with?

It made him not only not cold, but he even had an urge to kick the covers off.

“Forget it, let’s sleep.” Lin Xun felt that his scheme probably wouldn’t work. It was better to get some sleep. He would thoroughly win Qinger over tomorrow when they visited the Ice and Snow Festival.

Just as Lin Xun closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep, he felt a slight movement in his quilt.

It was as if a small kitten was cautiously trying to crawl into his bedding.

    “Ah!”

Without thinking, Lin Xun directly grabbed the “kitten’s” wrist and pulled her into the quilt with him.

“Liar, it’s clearly so warm inside the quilt.”

Held tightly from behind by Lin Xun, Jiang Qingshang pouted her small lips and lightly kicked her husband with her fair, tender heel.

“As expected, Qinger still cares for me.”

Lin Xun held his soft and smooth wife in his arms, burying his head in the faint fragrance of her hair.

Now that he had succeeded, Lin Xun wouldn’t let go easily.

“Who’s worried about you?” Jiang Qingshang struggled slightly in Lin Xun’s arms, but the more she struggled, the tighter Lin Xun held her. Eventually, Jiang Qingshang could only let her husband hold her.

“Liar,” Jiang Qingshang said slowly, feeling her husband’s body heat behind her.

“Not a liar. How could I possibly lie to you?” Lin Xun said shamelessly.

“Then when you said you’d always be with me, was that a lie too?” Jiang Qingshang pouted.

    “Now that is definitely true.”

“Hmph! I don’t believe it. You said my cooking was the best, but at noon today, you said Sister Wangxing’s was the best.”

“…” As expected, it was because of this.

    “Well, that was an accident.”

Lin Xun felt a bit guilty.

“I really didn’t expect that the dishes Miss Sikong made would suit my taste so perfectly. It was almost as if you, Qinger, had made them for me.”

“Then between my cooking and Sister Wangxing’s, whose is better?” Jiang Qingshang turned around in Lin Xun’s arms, her large eyes blinking as she looked at him.

    “Yours is the best!”

Looking into his wife’s eyes, Lin Xun answered instantly.

“Really?” Jiang Qingshang smiled with curved eyes.

    “Really!” Lin Xun nodded sincerely!

“Then tomorrow, Sister Sikong and I will each make two dishes. Husband, you can judge which one is the best.”

    “This…”

Lin Xun felt a bit guilty now.

Sikong Wangxing’s cooking suited Lin Xun’s taste so perfectly that he felt he wouldn’t be able to tell them apart even if he tasted them a hundred times!

“Lin Pei, you big liar! I knew you were lying to me!”

Seeing Lin Xun’s hesitant look, the girl opened her cherry lips and bit Lin Xun’s neck with her snowy white teeth.

“Qinger… ow, ow, ow… I was wrong, I was really wrong.”

“Mmm mmm mmm!!! (Serves you right for lying! Big liar!)” Jiang Qingshang didn’t let go, but hearing Lin Xun’s cry of pain, she subconsciously loosened her bite.

“Qinger, really, in my heart, your cooking is the best!” Lin Xun gently stroked his wife’s hair, holding her slender waist tightly.

“I don’t believe you, Big Pig Trotter!” Jiang Qingshang said, looking up, then she picked another spot on Lin Xun’s neck and bit down.

“Hiss—” Lin Xun, with another tooth mark on his neck, sucked in a breath of cold air. To soothe the pain, he stroked Jiang Qingshang’s well-proportioned long legs.

“Qinger, really, I, Lin Pei, am truly not lying! Qinger, even if you bite me to death, your cooking is still the best!” Lin Xun’s mouth remained stubborn while he grimaced in pain, holding his wife tightly.

After a full half-stick of incense’s time, Lin Xun’s neck was covered in tooth marks. Until there was no place left to bite, Jiang Qingshang rested her head on Lin Xun’s chest. Her anger somewhat dissipated, the girl whispered: “Hmph, bad man…”

“Well, I’m only bad to you.” Lin Xun, whose neck had gone numb, still didn’t let go of his wife.

“Lin Pei.” In Lin Xun’s arms, the girl looked up.

“Hmm?” Lin Xun kissed his wife’s forehead lightly.

“If you’re going to lie to me, then lie to me for a lifetime.”

    “Hmm?”

    “That way…”

In Lin Xun’s arms, Jiang Qingshang lowered her eyelashes, her voice soft and weak like a spring breeze.

“That way, I will take it as true…”
