Chapter Index

    No way, no way, right?

Looking at the corpses of the Medicine King Valley Disciples on the ground, Lin Xun felt quite uneasy.

Could the Medicine King Valley have been completely wiped out?!

Lin Xun instinctively clenched his fist, only to find himself gripping Sikong Wangxing’s shapely, soft thigh, which he had been holding in his arms.

However, Lin Xun didn’t notice; his mind was occupied with the thought that if the Medicine King Valley was wiped out, what would happen to Sikong Wangxing?

Was the young girl in his arms really going to die here?

    “Wait, that’s not right.”

Looking at the corpses on the ground, Lin Xun’s brow furrowed slightly.

Adjusting his posture to carry Sikong Wangxing on his back, Lin Xun leaned down.

He touched the corpses and pinched the black sand stained with blood.

The bodies felt real, the sticky texture of the blood-soaked black sand was real, and the fatal wounds on everyone showed no issues.

One could say this was a massacre.

    But…

Why did these corpses have a faint scent of rosemary?

Moreover, after two shifts in position, everyone had been scattered. How could the Medicine King Valley suddenly gather so many people? This was too unscientific.

    Finally.

Lin Xun walked forward. While the other Medicine King Valley Disciples had died in various gruesome ways, why did this Medicine King Valley Saintess die so beautifully?

Her face was as pale as a withered flower, and the blood overflowing from the corner of her mouth was like red plum blossoms dotting white snow.

Even her dying posture was lying on her side, her long black hair spread out elegantly, appearing like a heartbroken fallen flower amidst the chaos.

Her graceful curves made one feel even more regretful… There were even a few flower petals scattered around this Medicine King Valley Saintess.

It was like a funeral of roses… Good grief!

Are you posing for an artistic photo shoot???

“I, Diao Zhen Da, love nothing more than looting corpses! This Medicine King Valley Saintess must have many treasures on her! Let me see!”

Lin Xun deliberately spoke loudly, then reached out toward the “corpse” of the Medicine King Valley Saintess, heading straight for her collar.

Just as Lin Xun was about to touch the “corpse” of the Medicine King Valley Saintess, a girlish shout suddenly came from behind him: “Ahhh! Pervert! Lecher! Villain!”

Lin Xun turned around and saw a young girl with her eyes tightly shut, swinging a wooden stick toward his forehead!

Lin Xun performed a perfect empty-handed stick catch.

Holding the stick with one hand and supporting Sikong Wangxing with the other, Lin Xun slowly stood up.

Before Lin Xun, this Medicine King Valley Saintess still had her eyes shut, using every ounce of her strength to strike his forehead, but after a long while, the stick hadn’t lowered an inch.

The girl even felt herself being lifted up along with the wooden stick in her hands.

    “Eh?”

Feeling herself being hoisted up, the girl opened her eyes.

What entered her vision was a Calabash Brother mask.

    “So cute…”

    The girl blurted out subconsciously.

“Thanks, I’m the Water-Spouting Brother,” Lin Xun joked.

“Ahhh! Don’t come over! Don’t come over!”

Seeing the mask speak finally brought the girl back to reality.

The girl let go of the stick and retreated several steps, then squatted down with her head in her hands, like a little ostrich burying its head in the sand, thinking the enemy couldn’t see her.

Lin Xun, now holding the stick the girl had used for the sneak attack, swept it through the air, and the fragrance dissipated.

As expected, the corpses were all fake—either branches or piles of straw. That “Medicine King Valley Saintess corpse” from earlier was actually a small straw effigy.

Good grief, this straw effigy was even made to look quite cute.

For a moment, Lin Xun didn’t know if this girl was too obsessed with beauty or if her hands were just too skillful.

In short, it was a small-scale Bewildering Formation combined with some hallucinogens that had caused his hallucinations.

Looking at the girl squatting with her head in her hands and a small gourd hanging at her waist, Lin Xun stepped forward.

Hearing the footsteps, the girl buried her head deeper into her shapely thighs, her small frame trembling like a little rabbit being stared down by a tiger.

“Look up,” Lin Xun said in a tone that brooked no refusal.

The girl fearfully lifted her small head, only to see not the cute Calabash Brother mask, but a Godzilla mask.

“Don’t be mean to me, don’t be mean to me!” The girl was so scared by the Godzilla mask that she hid her head again.

    Lin Xun: “…”

Why does this girl have a Shu dialect accent?

Oh right, the Medicine King Valley is located in Mount Shu of the Longming Continent.

    “Look up.”

    “I won’t, you’re so mean.”

Lin Xun felt like his joke had gone a bit too far.

“I’m tellin’ ya! Don’t tick me off, let me tell ya, I’m very mean! Look up, I have something for you to do,” Lin Xun said, his Min and Shu dialects flying everywhere.

Surprisingly, the Medicine King Valley girl understood. She looked up blankly, her large eyes blinking, her wiper-like eyelashes carrying tiny teardrops like morning dew. The tear stains at the corners of her eyes and her delicate appearance made one want to bully her even more.

Science suggests that when you see something extremely cute and fragile, you can’t help but want to bully it; it’s a self-protection mechanism to prevent you from dying of cuteness.

However, Lin Xun was in no mood to bully her.

If he bullied her any further, he might leave her with psychological trauma.

    Besides, serious business came first.

The Medicine King Valley Saintess timidly lifted her eyes, but this time Lin Xun’s mask had changed to Bulbasaur.

“So cute…” The Medicine King Valley Saintess’s eyes lit up as she spoke instinctively, but she quickly covered her mouth and stood up to retreat a few steps. “What… what do you want?”

“Are you the Medicine King Valley Saintess?” Walking up to the girl, Lin Xun tapped a nearby rock with the wooden stick.

“Don’t be mean to me, don’t be mean to me.” The girl held her head again.

“No squatting!” Lin Xun said coldly just as the girl was about to hide her head and squat again.

The girl stood straight, her legs pressed together without a single gap.

“Put your hands down,” Lin Xun sighed.

The girl timidly lowered her hands.

By now, tears were already swirling in her eyes, and her small nose was twitching.

Her small hands tightly gripped her skirt; her uneasy and pitiful look was such that if any flower-protecting knights from the righteous sects saw this, Lin Xun felt he would be chased and hacked to death.

Actually, Lin Xun didn’t know how things had suddenly turned out like this. He thought he could communicate with her properly, but…

Somehow, it felt like he had really become a villain. Bullying her was actually quite fun… “What is your name?”

    “Zhu… Zhu Ling.”

“Zhu Ling, I want you to save the person on my back!”

Lin Xun continued to act ferociously.

“If you can’t save her… hehehe.”

“I can save her, I can save her! Don’t be mean to me!”

Zhu Ling squatted with her head in her hands again and started crying once more.

The remaining half of the threatening lines Lin Xun had prepared were stuck in his throat; he found he couldn’t say them, which felt rather uncomfortable.
