Chapter Index

Waking up in the morning, Lin Xun stretched. Yaya’s short little arms were wrapped around his neck, her chin resting on his shoulder, still not quite awake.

Carrying Yaya out of the room, Lin Xun planned to wash her up and then head out to the street for breakfast together.

After breakfast, he would go check on (and trick) that girl.

However, as soon as the door opened, he saw the slender-figured young girl sitting quietly in the courtyard, gazing at the peach tree.

Motionless, the girl looked like a jade carving of a beauty.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, the girl turned around, her cat-tailed peach blossom eyes blinking as she looked at Lin Xun.

On Lin Xun’s shoulder, Yaya twitched her little nose, then dazedly opened her eyes and turned around in Lin Xun’s arms.

Her short little hands rubbed her big eyes, and the moment she saw the girl, Yaya’s sleepy eyes lit up.

    “Ya~~~ Big Sister. Big Sister, you’re awake~”

Yaya was very happy; after all, she had been taking care of her for so long~~~

Looking at Lin Xun, and then at the cute little girl in his arms, the young girl nodded expressionlessly.

Well, Lin Xun was certain now: this generation’s Saintess of the Huanxi Sect was a San-wu JK.

No words, no heart, no expression.

“Good morning, Miss.” Setting Yaya down, Lin Xun stepped forward while maintaining a social distance. “How are you feeling?”

    “Bai Luoxue.”

    “Huh?”

    “Bai Luoxue. My name.”

“Ah, oh. Lin Pei. Lin as in Lin Pei, and Pei as in Lin Pei,” Lin Xun responded.

    “Mm.” Bai Luoxue nodded.

    Lin Xun: “…”

Wait, isn’t she going to comment on my self-introduction?

Forget it. Expecting a San-wu girl to make a witty remark, I must have some issues too.

“Was it you who saved me?” Bai Luoxue continued to ask.

“Yes. I was on my way home when I found you unconscious in an alleyway, so I brought you back,” Lin Xun said, using his pre-prepared story.

“You touched me?” Bai Luoxue asked. It was clearly a question, but her tone lacked any inquisitive inflection.

“Miss, please don’t say such things. Men and women should keep a proper distance. I called upon my neighbors—the various aunties and grandmas—to carry you back.”

Lin Xun spoke with righteous indignation, looking exactly like a scumbag who had carried her back while gripping her thighs, only to pretend to be a stranger the next moment.

“Did you change my clothes too?”

“Yaya changed them~” Yaya said, standing on her tiptoes, her eyes blinking as she looked at the fair-skinned, delicate big sister before her.

“Precisely.” Lin Xun nodded in agreement. “Yaya also helped you bathe. Oh, and she was responsible for feeding you as well. I never once looked at your face beneath the veil.”

“Mm,” Bai Luoxue nodded, seemingly never doubting Lin Xun’s words.

The girl slightly bent her knees in a bow. “My thanks to the Young Master and Little Sister Yaya.”

“No need for thanks, no need.” Yaya ran up to Bai Luoxue. “Sister, you are clearly so, so, so pretty. Why do you cover your face?”

“Because…” Bai Luoxue thought seriously for a moment. “There are too many men. They… are very annoying.”

    Yaya: “???”

    Lin Xun: “…”

“*Cough, cough*.” Lin Xun coughed a few times and changed the subject. “May I ask where you come from and where you are headed?”

All in all, Lin Xun felt that as long as he pretended to be an ordinary person and sent her away as soon as possible, everything would be fine.

“I come from the Huanxi Sect. I am a Cultivator. I am looking for someone named Lin Xun. I wonder if the Young Master knows him?”

Bai Luoxue spoke calmly, without the slightest concealment. Her soul-capturing, watery eyes were filled with sincerity… “???” This, instead, left Lin Xun unsure of how to react.

    What the hell is this?

You just said it straight out?

You’re not even going to act a little?

You’re making me, the one putting on a solo performance, feel very awkward.

“Big Sister, Big Sister… what kind of place is the Huanxi Sect?” Yaya curiously tugged at Bai Luoxue’s hem, her eyes full of curiosity.

“The Huanxi Sect is… a place full of women. Every day, Master shows me many picture albums. In the albums…”

“*Cough, cough, cough*.” Lin Xun quickly interrupted their conversation and scooped Yaya up. Otherwise, this pure little white fox would surely be corrupted.

“So you are an immortal from the mountains. Then, your injuries are because…?”

Bai Luoxue shook her head. “I wanted to enter Luo City to find Lin Xun, but the Zilin Holy Land wouldn’t let me in. Thus, a conflict broke out.”

Glancing at Lin Xun, Bai Luoxue said calmly, “I will leave in a moment. I won’t involve the Young Master.”

    “…”

To be honest, Lin Xun really couldn’t keep up with this pace.

It wasn’t that Lin Xun had never encountered the Huanxi Sect before.

Back when Lin Xun was out traveling for experience, many women from the Huanxi Sect had tried to seduce him.

In Lin Xun’s memory, the Huanxi Sect was full of scantily-clad women who would start racing on Mount Akina at the drop of a hat.

Furthermore, they were quite wicked. Many became demons by harvesting Yang Qi; almost every harvest cost a life. It was no wonder the Huanxi Sect was repeatedly suppressed.

But this girl’s style was very peculiar.

She answered whatever he asked, and she even worried about involving him.

A demoness from a Devilish Sect worrying about involving a Mortal.

    Truly a once-in-a-lifetime sight.

But the more she acted like this, the harder it was for Lin Xun to kick her out. Otherwise, he’d feel like he was pushing a cornered JK into a pack of wolves.

Although Bai Luoxue had recovered a bit of spiritual power and physical strength, she was still very weak. Right now, she probably couldn’t even defeat someone in the Cave Mansion Realm.

Luo City was a mix of good and bad, with plenty of Cultivators. If a weak woman with a natural Bewitching Bone went out… Good grief.

He didn’t dare think about it.

“There’s no need to rush, Miss. My place is remote. You should rest here for a few more days. It won’t be too late to leave once you’ve mostly recovered.” Lin Xun sighed in his heart, blaming his own kindness.

After Lin Xun spoke, Bai Luoxue tilted her head instead. “Does the Young Master know that I will involve you?”

“Well, although I am just a Mortal, we scholars cannot stand by and watch someone die. Especially since you are so weak right now.”

“But I am a Cultivator. You can’t even beat me, yet you want to protect me?”

“It’s not protection; it’s just letting you stay here temporarily. As long as you don’t run around, your enemies shouldn’t find you.”

After Lin Xun finished, Bai Luoxue continued to look at him expressionlessly.

Looking into those cat-tailed peach blossom eyes—those soul-stirring eyes—even Lin Xun couldn’t help but blush.

Lin Xun didn’t even know why he was blushing… He could only say that a natural Bewitching Bone truly manifested in every word, every action, and even a single glance.

And this was even with her deliberately suppressing it.

    “Have you fallen for me?”

After a long while, the girl spoke calmly.

    “Huh?”

    Lin Xun was stunned.
