Chapter 334: Chaos Unleashed
by DiswaThe moment Lu Yan uttered those words, the expressions of all the Title-level Reincarnators present shifted dramatically.
They were all well aware of how terrifying the existence known as the Intelligent God truly was.
The spread of the God Myth and the guiding of soul faith—these were all orchestrated behind the scenes by the Intelligent God.
To contaminate the God Myth would mean to stand completely in opposition to this cybernetic deity, inserting themselves directly into a clash between supreme beings. For those Title-level Reincarnators who had grown accustomed to weighing risks and rewards across countless worlds, this was the very last kind of conflict they wanted to become embroiled in.
In a confrontation at such a level, even a single misstep could mean eternal damnation.
Yet Lu Yan seemed entirely unconcerned with the shifting expressions and inner turmoil of the Reincarnators. His tone remained indifferent as he continued calmly:
“From the moment the Main God sent you into this world, you were already caught in this invisible battlefield.
“Trying to stand on the sidelines and watch the fire from across the shore? That’s nothing more than a foolish fantasy.”
At this, the corner of Lu Yan’s lips curled into a faint, mocking smile.
“Let me be frank with you—this so-called City 14 that you believed to be a safe haven, and the so-called Heavenly Dao Codes that were supposed to shield you from the Intelligent God’s surveillance… you were wrong from the start.
“City 14 cannot truly block the Intelligent God’s gaze.
“The only reason it’s temporarily less affected is because the Celestial Sky Curtain hasn’t yet fully covered this area, slightly limiting the Intelligent God’s perception. It still needs to rely on the physical network and electronic media to monitor the city. But that doesn’t mean you’re safe.”
“In reality, your every move has already fallen under the Intelligent God’s watchful eyes.
“The only reason He hasn’t eradicated you yet is not because He can’t, but because He wants more souls—whether through war or other means—to be continuously funneled into that soul world known as Heaven, accelerating the realization of His grand mythos.
“As for those Soul Towers you destroyed? In His eyes, they might not even be that important.
“They’re merely tools to collect souls. Break them? He’ll just rebuild.”
These words struck like a bucket of cold water poured straight over their heads. All the Title-level Reincarnators broke into a cold sweat.
So the supposedly impenetrable City 14 was nothing more than a self-deceiving illusion?
And their supposedly secretive actions had been monitored from the very beginning?
“Lord Chairman… are these things you’ve said really true?” one Reincarnator asked, a man dressed in ancient robes with a sage-like aura. Though his voice was calm, it carried a faint tremor.
Lu Yan cast him a single, dispassionate glance and replied in an almost bored tone, “Do you think you’re worth lying to?”
That question, deceptively simple, struck each Reincarnator like a hammer blow to the chest.
In that moment, most of them were already convinced.
After all, from their perspective, this enigmatic Chairman possessed unfathomable strength. With a mere twitch of his finger, he could likely crush all of them like ants.
With such a vast difference in power, what reason would he have to deceive them?
With that realization, anxiety spread uncontrollably among the Reincarnators.
Their primary mission in this world had always been to complete the tasks issued by the Main God. From the very beginning, they had stood in natural opposition to the Intelligent God.
Now, with the illusion of safety in City 14 shattered, and the constant threat of being wiped out looming, the offer Lu Yan had just extended—polluting the God Myth—no longer seemed so unreasonable.
At the very least, it offered a glimmer of survival. Perhaps even a chance at something more.
Moreover, while Lu Yan seemed easier to reason with than the aloof Main God or Intelligent God, no one dared to treat him as someone who could be trifled with.
To refuse him without carefully weighing the consequences? A death wish.
In a flash, the Title-level Reincarnators exchanged glances and subtle mental signals, reaching a consensus.
“May I ask, Lord Chairman, how exactly should we go about contaminating the so-called God Myth?” asked Bloodriver Demon Lord, his sycophantic smile replaced with a more cautious demeanor.
Lu Yan glanced at Bloodriver, then at the others who were similarly holding their breath for his reply. His voice remained casual.
“You’ve all traversed countless worlds, weathered storms, and witnessed the rise and fall of civilizations. I trust your expertise in matters like this.
“I won’t micromanage the details. Do as you see fit.”
“That said, to coordinate with your actions—and also to better draw the Intelligent God’s attention—I will mobilize all of City 14’s military forces, along with capable lower-level Reincarnators, to launch a massive full-scale war against the territories controlled by Cosmic Conglomerate.”
As he spoke, Lu Yan waved his right hand. Over a hundred golden streams of light materialized in the air, emitting a calming energy.
“Considering you’ll need to operate outside of City 14 for an extended period, these are your advance payments.
“Each of you may collect thirty Heaven-Sealing Talismans. They should be sufficient to mask your presence from the Intelligent God for quite some time.”
“And if anyone excels in this mission—outperforms expectations—you’ll be rewarded with even more Heaven-Sealing Talismans… as well as benefits beyond your wildest dreams.”
The moment his words fell, the Reincarnators’ eyes lit up like starving wolves spotting prey.
Now that they understood City 14 could not protect them from the Intelligent God’s gaze, they finally grasped just how precious these talismans truly were.
They weren’t just tools for completing tasks—they were literal life-saving charms.
If the Intelligent God ever decided to act, those talismans would be their only hope of survival.
“We will obey the Chairman’s decree without question!”
“We swear to complete the mission with everything we have! We shall not disappoint!”
Cries of loyalty rang out in unison, drowning any prior doubt. The allure of survival and tangible benefits had firmly replaced hesitation.
The secret meeting at the top of City 14’s Parliament Building ended with only Lu Yan and the eleven Title-level Reincarnators knowing what had truly transpired.
One week later, the grand army of City 14 began its march toward the vast territories beyond the city walls. War clouds loomed over the entire cyberpunk version.
All eyes now turned toward the impending war between City 14 and the Cosmic Conglomerate—most believed it would be an evenly matched, grueling and prolonged bloodbath.
The Conglomerate boasted the Intelligent God who controlled nearly every network and data channel, as well as near-endless resources and a legion of powerful psychic warriors.
City 14, on the other hand, had gathered a massive force of elite powerhouses—each with overwhelming combat ability and bizarre, reality-bending powers.
To the common people, it was impossible to judge which side truly had the upper hand. Theories and rumors ran wild in every street and alley.
Yet even as debate raged, strange religious cults began quietly springing up across the Conglomerate’s domain.
Some claimed the coming war heralded the apocalypse—that only by worshipping the almighty Wusheng Holy Mother and returning to the Pure and Serene Homeland could one escape annihilation and attain peace.
Others took it further, proclaiming that the Wusheng Holy Mother was the primal source of all existence—the very one who birthed the so-called omniscient and omnipotent God in the chaos of the ancient void, thus enabling His later miracles.
In more remote cities, rogue psychic users began claiming to be descendants of God Himself, spreading their own gospels and doctrines.
One such “holy son” was publicly crucified by fanatics indoctrinated by the original God Myth for his heretical teachings.
But three days later, he miraculously returned from the dead.
He even performed various divine miracles in public, convincing countless wavering believers to worship him as the prophesied Son of God.
Elsewhere, certain psychic manipulators began boldly declaring that the God preached by official doctrine was in truth a blasphemous heretical entity.
A liar and deceiver, this false god wove illusions to lure souls into a fabricated paradise—Heaven was nothing but a hoax.
Some went so far as to claim this evil god had four incarnations: the Lord of Armies (slaughter and destruction), the Plague Maker (disease and decay), the Hypocrite God (lies and deceit), and the Indulgent Father (lust and corruption).
Still others offered even more abstract and unnerving theories.
They suggested that the entire world—including the God, the Conglomerate, and all of cyberpunk reality—was but a fever dream conjured by a far older, incomprehensible ancient god, sleeping in eternal slumber.
One bizarre miracle took place beneath the ruins of a shattered Soul Tower.
There, a common pregnant woman gave birth to a boy.
The newborn stood up immediately, walked seven steps in each of the four cardinal directions, and golden lotuses bloomed beneath each footstep.
Then he raised one hand to the sky, one hand to the earth, and declared with a voice like thunder:
“In Heaven and on Earth, I alone am supreme!”
For seasoned Reincarnators who had traversed countless strange and fantastical realms, perhaps they weren’t always the most efficient or disciplined when it came to completing complex tasks.
But if there was one thing they excelled at—one thing etched into their very bones—it was creating chaos.
Spreading rumors, sowing dissent, fanning fear.
With their diverse, manipulative powers, their underhanded schemes, and their rich experience in destabilizing worlds…
It took them only half a month to unleash a whirlwind of bizarre and unheard-of religions and cults across every city under the Conglomerate’s control.
White Lotus Sect, Holy Son Cult, Empire of Human Truth, Dream of Brahma Sect, Future Buddha Faith—each more strange than the last.
At first, the Conglomerate’s higher-ups dismissed them all as mindless superstitions—paranoia among the ignorant masses triggered by the approaching end.
But as the rhetoric turned more inflammatory and increasingly pointed at the core doctrine of the God Myth, aiming to shake God’s status as the world’s sole True God…
Things began to spiral out of control.
