Chapter Index

Chen Feng did not reject Xiao Ya’s idea of opening a milk tea shop.

It was the same condition as before: she had to present him with a feasible business plan and budget sheet. Only after he approved it would he invest the money.

A few hundred thousand, or even a million, was nothing to the current Chen Feng.

The main thing was not to be knowingly scammed or just throw money into the water.

Chen Feng’s attitude made Xiao Ya breathe a small sigh of relief.

Her main worry was that Chen Feng would get angry and refuse to invest when he heard it would cost nearly a million.

Now, hearing Chen Feng’s attitude, she felt much more at ease.

Otherwise, there would be no point in her continuing to work undercover at the milk tea shop, which was also very tiring for not much pay.

Xiao Ya said with great emotion, “My dear, thank you so much. You are my destined benefactor. If the milk tea shop opens, I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life.”

These were her true feelings, at least at this moment, she was genuinely grateful to Chen Feng. Otherwise, she didn’t know if she would ever be able to buy a house here and live the life of a rich person.

“You’re exaggerating. What’s this about being grateful for a lifetime? I’m not just giving you the money to open a milk tea shop for free. I need to make this clear to you. At most, I’ll lend you a part of it, and the rest will be considered angel investment.”

Chen Feng acted like a typical straight man, speaking his mind without hiding anything.

Xiao Ya wasn’t angry. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her entire upper body pressing against him, her lips only ten centimeters from his ear. She giggled, her breath like orchids, “Then what’s the most you can lend me? How about a million? Interest-free.”

Chen Feng thought to himself, in your dreams.

“A million is impossible. You just said the initial investment is about three hundred thousand, and the big expense later is the shop rent and transfer fee. This can be rented for a year at most, and controlling it within three hundred thousand should be enough. The total is probably only six or seven hundred thousand. So, I plan to lend you the thirty thousand you need for the initial investment, at one percent interest. I will also provide whatever money is needed later, but it will be counted as an investment. We can discuss the specific shares then.”

    Chen Feng stated his plan.

He didn’t really care about these few hundred thousand. He never even expected to get back the thirty thousand he lent her.

But business was business. How long had they known each other? He couldn’t possibly give away hundreds of thousands or millions without expecting anything in return. That would be the action of someone with a screw loose.

Besides, he also hoped to use his ’emperor’s luck’ to help her, letting her get rich with him.

In that sense, his intentions were good.

After all, she was his woman. Although it was currently more physical than emotional, Chen Feng had always been a soft-hearted good person and didn’t want her to suffer in the future.

Xiao Ya had indeed thought about getting an interest-free loan of several hundred thousand from him, but later she thought it was unrealistic. So just now, she had proposed it half-jokingly as a test.

Now, getting this result, although it was a bit different from what she had imagined, it was still acceptable.

Thirty thousand, with only one percent interest, was lower than the lending rates of some banks, and in the private sector, it was considered the lowest standard interest rate.

As for Chen Feng investing money for a stake, that was her initial Plan B. In case she lost money, she would have this sugar daddy to back her up, so she wouldn’t go bankrupt immediately.

But after going to work today and getting a general idea of the milk tea shop’s operations, she felt that as long as it opened, it would be a stable profit, so she didn’t really want Chen Feng to become a shareholder.

But now that Chen Feng insisted on investing, she could only accept. Otherwise, where would the start-up capital for her business come from?

“Alright. I have no objection. Then it’s settled.”

Xiao Ya thought for about a minute and finally agreed.

To be honest, Chen Feng was a little disappointed that she took so long to agree.

It was clear that she had initially wanted to get money from him for free to open the shop. Wasn’t that treating him like a rich fool or an idiot to be tricked?
If it weren’t for the fact that they had already established a physical relationship, and that Xiao Ya was no worse than Sun Xiaorui in that department, plus Sun Xiaorui wasn’t coming back for a while, Chen Feng would have wanted to terminate their employment relationship.

    “What’s wrong? Are you unhappy?”

Xiao Ya was somewhat perceptive. Seeing that Chen Feng’s expression was off, she immediately tilted her head and asked him in a fawning manner, then pressed her body against his chest.

As a woman, she knew how to use her natural advantages.

She was braless, and with her pressing against him like that, Chen Feng immediately felt a reaction.

    “No. I just think you’re too career-minded.”

“While I’m still young, of course I have to strive and work hard. Otherwise, I can’t always rely on you men, can I?”

That was true. Chen Feng couldn’t refute it.

“Alright. I just hope that in the future, when you’re focused on your career, you can still get along well with me.”

“Of course I’ll get along well with you. You’re my sugar daddy now, the biggest investor in my future career. I will definitely serve you well, to your satisfaction.”

As she spoke, she began to get handsy with Chen Feng. Chen Feng felt very helpless; his body was acting on its own…

When he woke up the next morning, the space beside him was already empty.

Looking at the time, it was eight-thirty in the morning. As usual, Chen Feng continued to lie in bed and check his phone first.

No calls, only a few unread WeChat messages from Lin Wan, and a text message from Qin Zhen.

This guy really avoided using WeChat and QQ whenever he could. He was one of a kind.

He read the text message first: [7 PM, No. 188 Chaoyang Road. Be there or be square.]

Chen Feng was a little speechless after reading it. Where was No. 188 Chaoyang Road?
So, Chen Feng called him directly. After they chatted for a bit, he found out that the place was chosen by his girlfriend. It was a private kitchen that only accepted advance reservations and served delicious Huaiyang cuisine.

Qin Zhen hoped that Chen Feng would bring Wu Mengting, their fellow townswoman, along. Otherwise, with them being a couple, Chen Feng would seem too lonely by himself, being force-fed public displays of affection.

Chen Feng then asked if he could bring Lin Wan along. Qin Zhen hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

After ending the call with Qin Zhen, Chen Feng went to check Lin Wan’s WeChat messages. Starting from the ones he hadn’t read last night, there were over a dozen in total.

A few of them were angry emojis, which Chen Feng directly ignored. The rest were all about asking him to bring Qin Zhen to her place for dinner.

After a quick glance, Chen Feng couldn’t be bothered to look anymore. He directly typed a reply, saying that Qin Zhen was treating him and the two of them to dinner tonight at seven, at a private kitchen serving Huaiyang cuisine.

Lin Wan replied almost instantly: [For real?]

    [Fake]

Then, Lin Wan directly sent a video call request.

Chen Feng rejected it and then sent a voice message: [It’s real. 7 PM tonight at the private kitchen at No. 188 Chaoyang Road. I’ll come over to your place at noon to talk about the details.]

Only then did Lin Wan reply with a satisfied voice message: [Okay, come over and we’ll talk. By the way, remember to buy two, no, three, three mandarin fish. Tiantian loves them.]

She wasn’t being polite with Chen Feng at all.

Chen Feng asked, annoyed: [Do you like it or does she like it?]

[We both like it. Don’t you like it? You ate more than half of the steamed mandarin fish last time.]

    […Okay, got it.]

After finishing the voice chat with Lin Wan, Chen Feng was finally fully awake. He got up to wash.

Going downstairs and seeing the empty dining table, he knew that, as expected, Xiao Ya didn’t have the habit of making him breakfast.
