Chapter Index

Chen Feng never expected to run into Zhang Jingwen here, and right at the entrance/exit, making it impossible to avoid.

Chen Feng had no desire to face her. He immediately pulled his suitcase, lowered his head, and stepped to the side.

However, his evasive action stood in stark contrast to the crowd of people all squeezing forward to watch the spectacle, making him stand out like a firefly in the night.

Everyone was rushing over to see the excitement, leaving him the only person within a few meters.

Therefore, Zhang Jingwen, who had actually been paying close attention to her surroundings, saw him at first glance.

    Instantly, her expression froze.

In her heart, she naturally believed that this crazy sasaeng fan, Chen Feng, was continuing to stalk her, still obsessed with her.

She was suddenly so angry that she wanted to rush over and scratch his face until it was ruined.

But with so many people and so many reporters around, as a currently popular big star, she certainly couldn’t do that.

So, she could only glare at Chen Feng with eyes filled with a hundred thousand tons of fury.

However, she quickly realized she was still wearing large sunglasses. Chen Feng definitely couldn’t feel her anger; it was like showing it to a blind man.

The two weren’t far apart to begin with. In a short while, the crowd squeezed over to Chen Feng’s side.

This brought the direct distance between Zhang Jingwen and Chen Feng to only five or six meters. At this very moment, Zhang Jingwen suddenly took off her sunglasses and looked towards Chen Feng.

Everyone was attracted by the action of her removing her sunglasses and by her exquisite, beautiful face. This was especially true for the reporters surrounding her, who snapped pictures nonstop with their phones and cameras.

Therefore, no one noticed Zhang Jingwen glaring at Chen Feng with eyes blazing with anger.

    Chen Feng, of course, noticed.

He had already noticed when Zhang Jingwen first spotted him. Initially, he felt a little guilty and lacked confidence.

But then, Zhang Jingwen deliberately deviated slightly from her path, moved closer to him, and suddenly took off her sunglasses not far from him to glare at him, looking like an enemy at a reunion, her eyes red with hatred.

    Chen Feng was instantly displeased.

Although he was somewhat at fault for what happened last time, it couldn’t be said that it was entirely his fault.

Besides, he hadn’t used those photos to threaten her or expose them. He could truly be considered a good person. Who was she putting on this face for now?

Thus, Chen Feng immediately glared back at her fiercely.

Zhang Jingwen didn’t expect Chen Feng to dare to glare back. Coupled with the fact that there were so many people and reporters around, she was definitely feeling guilty. She was startled, lost her composure, and her three-inch high heels lost their footing. Her body tumbled to the side.

This sudden turn of events was something no one, including Chen Feng, had expected. Even Zhang Jingwen herself never dreamed it would happen.

Only after she fell onto the cold ground and felt a burst of pain from her elbow and hip did she cry out in surprise.

The only fortunate thing was that she hadn’t sprained her ankle.

At this moment, the ones who reacted the fastest were the reporters surrounding her. As if they had taken stimulants, their cameras clicked away incessantly.

    “Stop shooting! Stop shooting!”

Zhang Jingwen’s entourage was half a beat too slow. While helping her up from the ground, they used their bodies to shield her, trying to prevent the surrounding reporters from capturing her current embarrassing state.

But it was clearly too late. The reporters had already captured everything they needed.

Zhang Jingwen looked disheveled, her eyes burning with rage. However, she didn’t dare to glare at Chen Feng again, lest someone notice.

She could only lower her head, cover her face with her hand, and, under the protection of her entourage, quickly walk towards the VIP channel.

She hadn’t taken it before because she needed to put on an airport fashion show. Now, of course, that was no longer necessary.

The previously bustling and crowded scene returned to normal with Zhang Jingwen’s departure.

Chen Feng stood there stunned for a good while before letting out a bitter smile.

He certainly knew that Zhang Jingwen had fallen just now because he had scared her. Although he didn’t regret it, he felt a little bad.

Now, Zhang Jingwen must hate him even more, grinding her teeth in fury.

There was nothing to be done. The misunderstanding and hatred between them seemed to be deepening, though of course, this was one-sided on Zhang Jingwen’s part.

This was all the heavens’ doing, making Chen Feng feel a sense of powerlessness.

He collected himself and continued walking out of the airport.

He got into a taxi, which smoothly made its way onto the elevated highway.

Then, the road ahead was suddenly blocked. The taxi had to turn around and take the road under the highway.

Seeing this, Chen Feng had a bad feeling.

After the taxi got off the elevated road, Chen Feng immediately told the driver to stop, then paid and got out.

For safety’s sake, he planned to hail another car.

But to his frustration, he waited by the roadside for half an hour without a single taxi passing by. During this time, he requested a ride-sharing car, but no one accepted the order.

    Chen Feng’s bad feeling intensified.

The subway line to the airport was still under construction and not yet open. Otherwise, taking the subway to the city would have been the most convenient.

Now that he couldn’t take a taxi or a ride-sharing car, the remaining options were the airport shuttle bus and shared bikes. Walking was also an option, of course, but it was over twenty kilometers to the city, so walking was clearly unrealistic.

Riding a bike for such a long distance would also be unpleasant. His only choice was to go back and take the airport shuttle.

So, Chen Feng could only walk back towards the airport.

The airport shuttle bus basically didn’t stop along the way; he had to go back to the starting station at the airport to board it.

Leaving by taxi had been quick, but walking back now was not so fast.

There were no taxis to be hailed nearby, nor were there any shared bike stations. He could only rely on his own two legs.

Therefore, Chen Feng was not in a good mood at the moment.

He felt that this whole ordeal was a prank by the heavens, with the sole purpose of making him have another “chance encounter” with Wu Mengting.

This made Chen Feng very depressed.

After more than ten minutes, the airport was finally in sight.

Suddenly, Chen Feng had a feeling that if he went in now, he would very likely run into Wu Mengting again.

This was really not what Chen Feng wanted.

So, he immediately turned around and walked towards a hotel not far to his left.

He decided to resist once more.

The outdoor sign for this Holiday Inn was quite large. After Chen Feng went in, he directly asked for a deluxe suite.

This time, there were no strange incidents. He successfully registered, got his room key, and smoothly entered the room.

He closed and double-locked the door.

Only then did Chen Feng let out a huge sigh of relief.

He put down his suitcase, didn’t even bother to take off his clothes, and went over to lie down on the bed, spread-eagled, his whole body completely relaxed.

But not long after, the room’s landline phone rang.

Chen Feng ignored it. After ringing for a while, it finally stopped.

A few minutes later, the landline rang again. Annoyed, Chen Feng had to roll over a few times on the bed to grab the receiver from the bedside table. This bed was too big.

He had originally intended to just hang up and then leave the receiver on the bedside table so they couldn’t call again.

But after picking up the receiver, he put it to his ear as if possessed.

“Hello, sir, may I ask if you need a massage service?”

As expected, it was this kind of call. It seemed that any single man staying in a hotel couldn’t avoid it.

“No, thank you. Please don’t call again.”

Considering the unpleasant experience last time, Chen Feng still politely declined their business.

“Sir, we have excellent female masseuses from all over the world, all sexy and beautiful, with first-class skills…”

    “That’s enough. Goodbye.”

Chen Feng hung up directly and then placed the receiver on the bedside table.

There shouldn’t be any more disturbances now. Chen Feng lay down peacefully, wanting to take a short nap before getting up to shower.

But just as he was about to drift off, a loud banging came from the door.
