Chapter 113: World Shattered, the Soul Continent
by DiswaFor a long time, the transport convoys to Paradise had never needed an armed escort.
But half a month ago, a group of psionic users from the Lower City suddenly appeared and intercepted a batch of Paradise transport vehicles, releasing over ten thousand captured denizens of the underground. The chaos they caused was immense.
Since then, escorts were deployed daily for every shipment, and today’s escort was especially large—eight hundred psionic warriors in total.
The vehicles slowly departed the underground entrance and made their way toward the spiral tower at the Paradise Computation Center.
Just as they neared the tower, a group of mechanical soldiers blocked the path at the gates.
“Disembark for inspection.”
The cold, monotonous mechanical voice echoed out. But only around a hundred psionic users stepped down from the vehicles, leaving over seven hundred fully armed individuals still inside—each one marked with Heavenly Code inscriptions.
Though the mechanical soldiers scanned the convoy with their cameras, they detected nothing out of the ordinary. The Heavenly Code cloaked their presence perfectly.
After a few flickers, the heavy gates of the spiral tower began to open.
The vehicles drove into the inner sanctum. But just as they passed the threshold, an urgent alarm suddenly blared—
“Unauthorized entry! Unauthorized entry!”
Buvise glanced at the gates and swore. “Damn it! The spiral tower still has a biological detection system not connected to the central intelligence!”
Since it wasn’t networked with the AI God’s soul computer, the bug-like loophole of the Heavenly Code had no effect.
The gates began to close. The mechanical soldiers froze momentarily—then all at once raised their weapons toward the convoy. The turrets mounted above also began activating.
Before they could fire, however, a volley of rockets precisely struck the turrets and the defending soldiers.
“Screw it! Charge!”
Fully armed psionic users leapt from the transport vehicles, charging through the tower gate. At the same time, the “prisoners” on board broke free of their restraints—every last one of them a psionic user.
In a flood, the entire assault force stormed into the spiral tower just as the gates clamped shut behind them.
Meanwhile, the three thousand mechanical soldiers stationed outside the underground entrance suddenly surged into motion, as if receiving orders, rushing toward the Paradise Computation Center.
Giant sky warships ascended into the air, soaring toward the spiral tower.
Across City No. 14’s defensive bases, missile silos began to open.
Within the Upper City, explosions erupted from several floating islands—the long-brewing rebellion had finally erupted.
Inside the spiral tower, Lu Yan moved calmly with the crowd, his gaze scanning everything around him.
In this entire plan, simply entering the spiral tower was already half the victory. This was the most important zone in all of City No. 14. The AI God’s large-scale destructive weapons couldn’t be used here.
Though the tower still had defenses, against a force of over ten thousand psionic users, they weren’t nearly enough.
Elite psionic users from the Upper City charged in first, equipped with the tower’s internal schematics. Their psionic rocket launchers could accurately destroy hidden gun turrets embedded in the walls.
Ordinary psionic users from the Lower City fought the mechanical soldiers in brutal close-quarters combat. Even these advanced killing machines—designed with a fusion of technology and psionic power—were no match for the raging fury of the Underground’s numbers and were dismantled piece by piece.
“The central hub of the tower is on the 18th floor!”
Buvise shouted loudly, rallying everyone to push toward the 18th level.
But at that moment, a suffocating aura surged from above—the presence of seven High-Rank psionic users.
Their bodies had been almost completely augmented with psionic modifications, leaving only their brains intact. Waves of overwhelming psionic force crashed down.
“You all must die!”
A raspy roar erupted from the seven, as one of them lunged at Buvise, razor-sharp metal claws aimed to kill the commander on the spot.
But in a flash of motion, a giant hand intercepted the claws.
A massive figure over ten meters tall manifested within the tower—the Primordial Spirit of the Giant.
With a single punch, the giant shattered the alloy-reinforced floor, slamming the attacker through it with a cascade of sparks and debris.
“All units, suppressive fire!”
Buvise immediately shouted. Upper City elites switched to high-powered sniper rifles, locking onto the High-Rank psionic targets.
Meanwhile, throughout the spiral tower, eyes began to open within the dormant soul pods.
These were the psionic users captured over recent weeks. But each of them had already been marked by Lu Yan with the Heavenly Code—they retained awareness even within soul extraction pods, infiltrating the spiral tower in preparation for this moment.
With explosive force, the pods burst apart. Thousands of hidden psionic users surged through the tower’s internal systems, wreaking havoc.
To maximize efficiency, the floors storing the soul pods had no defensive systems. Even one psionic user per floor was enough to destroy the soul transmission arrays with ease.
In the Soul World, countless souls flickered and vanished—
Ten thousand. One hundred thousand. One million.
As soul data disappeared at a pace visible to the naked eye, the AI God finally snapped.
In the sky above, the Eye of the Sun slowly closed.
At the same time, within the Paradise Computation Center of City No. 14, a booming thunderclap resounded—a divine wrath roaring through the heavens. All who felt it trembled in their very souls, instinctively ready to kneel in submission.
Even the Primordial Spirit of the Giant began to shrink under the pressure. The High-Rank psionic user beneath him, pinned and nearly destroyed, laughed maniacally.
“He’s angry!”
“You’re all doomed!”
“You’ll witness the wrath of a god!”
“Oh? Is that so?”
A voice, calm and unhurried, rang through the tower.
Lu Yan no longer concealed his Soul Banner. Dark, churning ghost mist enveloped him.
“It’s time.”
In the Soul World, the Blood-Tendril Spirit revealed a crazed smile.
All around it, vast strands of Heavenly Code traced the boundary of the world, forming a giant circular seal.
One half of the ring lay upon the world’s outer wall, splitting the realm. The other extended from the edges of the land deep toward the interior—spanning a colossal arc over eight hundred kilometers long.
Even within the massive Soul World, this region accounted for more than one percent of the entire realm.
Only one final gap remained in the code ring.
Lu Yan guided the blood tendril, completing the final segment of the Heavenly Code.
In the next instant, the Soul World began to quake. A clear crack spread along the code circle, splitting the realm. Just as the artificial world neared completion, it was suddenly bitten into—as if something had taken a vicious chunk out of it.
Endless darkness poured in through the rift. The Soul World descended into chaos.
In the real world, the AI God abruptly withdrew—vanishing before it could act. Its divine pressure dissipated completely.
Back in the Soul World, the furious Eye of the Sun reopened. It unleashed divine light that banished the encroaching darkness.
The land fractured. Mountains crumbled. Rivers of molten lava poured from the gaping cracks. Collapsing peaks became volcanic mouths, roaring like a god enraged.
The entire world was engulfed in apocalypse.
But none of it touched the separated Heavenly Ring.
The AI God’s rules were blocked by the Heavenly Code, unable to affect even a sliver of the region inside the ring.
Radiant light surged. From the solar eye, a crimson-gold bolt of lightning began to form—its destructive aura tearing the sky apart, aimed at annihilating the sealed region.
Meanwhile, the surrounding darkness surged toward the now-unguarded ring. Oblivion seemed inevitable.
But at that moment, the Blood-Tendril Spirit let out a wild roar. Its tendrils connected with eight hundred powerful ghosts. Activating its innate spell—Soul Fusion.
A monstrous being tens of meters tall emerged within the sealed circle, a ghostly titan that plunged its arms into the earth, gripping the entire ringed region.
In the same moment, a distant, ethereal voice crossed realms and whispered into the Blood-Tendril Spirit’s ear—
“Take it.”
At that command, the spirit was seized by a strange calling—and fled the black void.
And with it… the eight-hundred-kilometer-wide Soul Ring was torn away.
In the real world, just as the AI God vanished and people began to breathe again, a sudden, indescribable pressure filled the air.
There was no visible change. But it felt as though the heavens themselves were collapsing—a massive continent was falling into the real world.
At that moment, from the shattered soul pods, countless fragments of the Soul Banner surged across dimensions and returned to their origin.
The Soul Banner in Lu Yan’s hand grew visibly larger.
He raised the banner high, guiding the Blood Tendril’s return. In a dimension no normal human could see, Lu Yan witnessed the great continent torn from the Soul World hurtling toward his banner.
Though it wasn’t a real continent, the spiritual pressure it emitted was immense—enough to weigh upon the minds of every living being.
Had it been a real world, Lu Yan would never have dared attempt such madness.
But he hadn’t forgotten.
This was a Soul Continent—a fragment of the Soul World. Everything within it was made of spiritual computation.
Which meant…
This Soul Continent could be refined into the Soul Banner.
