Chapter Index

When Chen Feng returned to the hotel, he felt a little dizzy. He lay down on the bed to rest and fell asleep not long after.

He had always been a carefree person. Even though he now had a terminal illness, after a period of despair, he had come to terms with it.

A person’s life is like a blade of grass in autumn; no one can avoid death. It’s just a matter of dying early or late.

Alright, dying late is definitely better than dying early.

But there was nothing he could do about it. Chen Feng had to accept it even if he didn’t want to. From now on, he would eat when he should eat and sleep when he should sleep.

When he woke up, it was almost three-thirty.

So, Chen Feng could only book the next flight at five-thirty, still in first class.

It wasn’t that he wanted to be extravagant, but time was a bit tight. Besides first class, there were no other seats available.

After booking the ticket, his stomach was growling with hunger. He hadn’t eaten lunch yet.

He was about to die, so he definitely had to eat well.

He immediately packed his luggage, went downstairs to check out, and hailed a taxi at the hotel entrance.

“Master, take me to the most authentic restaurant. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bit expensive, just not too far. This is your tip, the fare will be calculated separately.”

Chen Feng directly threw the taxi driver a red bull bill.

The driver happily agreed, immediately started the car, and took Chen Feng to a restaurant a few kilometers away.

It was said to be a three-star Michelin restaurant, serving Japanese cuisine.

Chen Feng had only eaten Korean food before, never Japanese, so he came to try something new.

The shop was in a prime commercial area. The decoration at the entrance was very exquisite, with an all-wood gray facade, exuding a minimalist and refined style.

Entering the main door, the layout of the entrance hall, small pond, and so on, was also quite artistic.

However, Chen Feng was not interested in these things. He went directly into the restaurant and, following the waiter’s introduction, ordered a 10-course set menu.

After waiting for about ten minutes, the various dishes were served one after another, but it made Chen Feng’s eyes widen a little.

He had heard before that the portions of Japanese cuisine were very small, but he didn’t expect them to be this small.

The first course was radish puree with pufferfish milt, which was actually a soup made with white radish and pufferfish milt. The bowl was quite large, but there was only a little bit of soup inside. Chen Feng picked up the spoon and finished it in a few slurps, finally picking up the large square bowl and drinking it clean.

The portion was not large, but the taste was really good.

Then, the dishes were served one by one. After eating ten courses, Chen Feng’s stomach was at most a third full. But the price was close to two thousand yuan.

Most people really couldn’t afford this price. A meal here was enough for an ordinary family’s food expenses for a month.

So, Chen Feng didn’t plan to continue being ripped off. Although the taste was good, it was far from giving him the feeling of being worth the money, especially since he was only a third full after eating ten courses.

    “Table 25, check please.”

Chen Feng walked to the counter, intending to pay the bill.

The beautiful young lady in a kimono at the counter operated the machine for a moment, then suddenly covered her mouth with her hand and said in surprise, “Sir, you’ve won a prize!”

What the hell! What’s going on?
Chen Feng was instantly dumbfounded. I can win a prize just by eating a meal?
The young lady in the kimono immediately cleared up Chen Feng’s confusion, “Sir, you are our restaurant’s 8,888th customer. This meal is on the house, and our restaurant will also give you a VIP card. You will get a 20% discount on all future visits.”

    “It can be like this?”

Even though Chen Feng was mentally prepared, he was still surprised.

    This luck!
“Yes, sir, you are so lucky,” the young lady in the kimono giggled, covering her mouth.

At this time, a man with glasses behind him looked at Chen Feng with envy, “Friend, you are really too lucky. I come here to eat every week, but I’ve never encountered such a good thing. If I had come to pay the bill a minute earlier, this grand prize would have been mine.”

The young woman next to him was about the same, with a look of envy and annoyance.

They were just a little bit off. If they had been a minute earlier, or if Chen Feng had been a minute later, this grand prize would have been theirs.

Chen Feng didn’t say much, just smiled. Then, the young lady called the restaurant manager, who personally handled the VIP card for him, and of course, the meal was free.

The VIP card didn’t matter; Chen Feng probably wouldn’t come here to eat again in the future.

Chen Feng liked the free meal. Although he wasn’t short of money, he didn’t mind a free meal.

After leaving the restaurant, there was still an hour before the plane took off. He called a taxi and arrived just fifteen minutes early.

He was the last one to board the plane, made his way to first class, and, under the guidance of a beautiful flight attendant, sat down in his first-class seat.

But just as he had put away his luggage bag, he heard a cry of surprise from beside him, “How is it you again?! Why are you still following me?”

Chen Feng turned his head and saw Zhang Jingwen’s shocked and angry face.

    What the hell!
Chen Feng instantly felt like he had been screwed by a dog. How many times has this been? Isn’t this deliberately messing with people?
A young woman like Zhang Jingwen, although beautiful with a standard internet celebrity face, was not his type at all.

What was with all these frequent “coincidental” encounters with her?

Chen Feng felt like he was being played with, like an invisible hand was pulling his strings like a puppet, making him unconsciously and involuntarily have a streak of good luck, which now seemed to include romantic luck.

It was just that with a woman like Zhang Jingwen, it was very likely to be a rotten peach blossom.

Chen Feng thought to himself, if you’re going to play, and arrange for me to have frequent coincidental encounters with a woman, you should at least pair me with a type I like. What’s the deal with pairing me with Zhang Jingwen?

“What is wrong with you? Didn’t I already make it clear to you before? If you follow me again, I will be very angry and might even call the police to arrest you.”

Seeing that someone was looking in their direction, Zhang Jingwen leaned over, lowered her voice, and said these words with an unfriendly expression.

Chen Feng was very helpless, but he could also understand her misunderstanding. Anyone who encountered this would not think it was a coincidence.

    “I… alright, I’m very sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose. I promise I won’t harass you. Just pretend I don’t exist.”

What else could Chen Feng say? He could only apologize and admit defeat. In this matter, she was completely in the right. As soon as she called the police, he would be in trouble.

Besides, Chen Feng had long seen that this woman was not simple. She traveled in luxury cars and had bodyguards. How could she be easy to provoke?

He was about to die and didn’t want to waste his remaining time on unnecessary trouble.

Zhang Jingwen had originally valued this hard-won sasaeng fan very much. And besides following her and deliberately causing two rear-end collisions, he hadn’t done anything to harass her. He was still relatively civilized and rational.

Besides, the fact that he spent so much time, energy, and money just to chase her, an idol who was not yet famous, was in itself something that could easily move people.

More importantly, he hadn’t done anything too out of line, at least so far.

Therefore, seeing that Chen Feng’s attitude of admitting his mistake was very good, Zhang Jingwen’s anger immediately subsided.

People are always like this, it’s hard to be cruel to someone who likes you with all their heart.

“Alright, I’ll give you one more chance. After we get off the plane this time, don’t follow me anymore. Otherwise, I will really call the police.”

“Thank you, I won’t,” Chen Feng said, making a look of hasty assurance.

    “Good, remember what you said.”

Zhang Jingwen was very satisfied with Chen Feng’s attitude. After a warning, she sat back in her seat with a sense of satisfaction and a queen-like mentality.
