Chapter Index

Lu Yan was just about to press on and continue integrating the remaining Dao Truths.

But the next moment, his expression abruptly changed.

He could clearly sense several powerful demon auras rapidly approaching from the east, just over ten kilometers away.

And not only from the east—threats were closing in from all other directions as well.

Frowning, Lu Yan gave up the idea of continuing to absorb Dao Truths and turned his gaze toward the fast-approaching demon auras in the east.

Since encountering the Stitched Demon earlier that night, more and more demons had begun launching attacks on him.

He had already slain nearly ten demons in the last battle. That should have been enough to clear out the nearby area. Yet now, demons were traveling dozens of kilometers to hunt him down—this reminded Lu Yan of what the Stitched Demon had said.

Looking up toward the sky, he could still see the lingering effects of the sixteen True Law tomes that had appeared on the Heaven and Earth True Law Rankings. Even after several hours, the phenomenon had yet to dissipate.

The moon had already set, and the sky was gradually clearing. But the brilliance of the stars remained undiminished.

“The Stitched Demon said I couldn’t protect the True Laws because these altered-version True Laws I hold ranked too highly on the True Law Rankings, making them targets for other demons’ greed?”

“But then—how are these demons tracking me down across such vast distances?”

While he was still deep in thought, several demons had already drawn near.

The leader was an enormous tiger-shaped demon, standing arrogantly at the front of the group. Bony wings protruded from its back like two massive scythes, and each pale white wing shimmered with an ominous glow.

Hundreds of wandering wraiths circled around it, their heart-wrenching wails weaving a hellish melody. The pressure emanating from the tiger demon was almost tangible—it had clearly reached the peak of Foundation Establishment. Its aura was soaked in the resentful will of countless departed souls.

Behind it were several more demons, each radiating an aura far stronger than the ones Lu Yan had faced earlier.

A mass of pitch-black sludge-like flesh wriggled along the ground, exuding a nauseating stench of rot. Every time it moved, twisted human faces surfaced and faded within its flesh.

A withered tree stood like a hanging scaffold, its dry branches dangling countless rotting corpses. Though no wind blew, the branches swayed gently, releasing waves of thick death energy.

The most terrifying of all was a massive spider demon. Its jet-black body was covered in countless twisted human faces, each silently screaming. Its eight legs ended not in claws, but pale human hands, which skittered across the ground with terrifying speed.

These demons radiated immense power—three of them had Foundation Establishment peak cultivation. They were far more formidable than any Lu Yan had encountered before.

    “Formation!”

The Giant Spirit God barked the command, and eight hundred ghostly soldiers instantly formed the Nine Nether Ghostwind Formation. Howling gales from the underworld surged outward like a web of invisible blades, weaving a net of death in the void.

As the array reached full power, the winds of the Nine Nether roared forth, imbued with the cold of the underworld. One jet-black demon was instantly torn to pieces, its soul struggling in the wind like a candle in the storm—before finally fading into specks of ghostly light and vanishing.

But just then, the tiger demon with the skeletal wings let out a thunderous roar. Blood-red light burst from its eyes as it unleashed its Dao Truth.

“Clouds follow the dragon, winds follow the tiger.”
This demon’s Dao Truth—was Wind Manipulation!

Under the power of this rule-level Dao Truth, even the formidable Nine Nether Ghostwind Formation—on par with a Second Tier formation—was seized and controlled by the might of Wind Manipulation.

The eerie green winds turned blood red, twisting like countless demonic dragons that lashed back toward the ghostly soldiers.

The very formation meant to slay demons was now turned into a weapon against them. The Qi Refining-level ghost soldiers looked as though they would be torn apart at any moment.

Just then, Lu Yan took a step forward, appearing instantly at the front of the formation.

    His right hand lifted lightly.

A portal that reflected all laws and Daos opened before him—

    The Mysterious Female Gate!

The once-dominant Wind Manipulation Dao Truth was instantly shattered under the suppression of the Mysterious Female Gate. This was the suppression of the source of all Daos—something a mere Foundation Establishment demon could never withstand.

The formless green winds dispersed into wisps of azure energy and were swallowed whole by the Mysterious Female Gate.

With Wind Manipulation crushed, control of the formation returned to Lu Yan. The Nine Nether winds once again surged forth, enshrouding all the demons.

    “It’s him!”

The tiger demon cried out in fury and surprise, its blood-red eyes now filled with greed.

“That’s definitely a top-ranked Dao Truth from the Heaven and Earth True Law Rankings!”

“Kill him! We’ll split his True Laws!”

The sludge-like flesh demon suddenly expanded, morphing into a tower of black flesh the size of a hill. Countless twisted faces surged and drowned within its surface, each screaming silently. The Dao Truth of Decay spread through the void—grass withered, earth cracked, and a destructive force brewed in its wake.

Meanwhile, the grotesque spider demon formed seals with all eight of its pale human hands. The many faces on its body opened their mouths, chanting an incomprehensible incantation. Symbols resembling spider silk filled the air, weaving into a massive web of magic. The Binding Dao Truth flowed like liquid terror.

The other demons also unleashed their powers, and all at once, their rule-level Dao Truths exploded forth—pressing down and forcibly resisting the howling ghost winds of the Nine Nether Formation.

    But Lu Yan remained calm.

    He released his right hand.

The palm-sized Mysterious Female Gate dropped toward the horde of demons.

    “Suppress!”

With a light utterance, the Mysterious Female Gate bloomed with violet radiance. The swirling vortex that governed all Daos instantly crushed the erupting Dao Truths of the demons.

Their powerful Dao Truths were ground into pieces and swallowed whole by the Mysterious Female Gate. In a flash, the mighty waves of Dao energy vanished without a trace.

In that moment—all the demons froze.

They couldn’t comprehend how their previously unstoppable Dao Truths were so easily destroyed.

They tried to gather their power again, only to realize that the Dao Truths they had relied on had been ripped away, severed from their very beings. An unspeakable terror engulfed their minds.

    “Kill!”

At the Giant Spirit God’s command, the eight hundred ghost soldiers unleashed a heaven-shaking killing intent. Without the protection of their Dao Truths, these demons—who had never cultivated their own foundations—were now weaker than ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivators, completely unable to resist the soul-devouring Nine Nether Winds.

One after another, their massive demon bodies collapsed. Soon, only three powerful demons at Foundation Establishment peak remained.

Frightened out of their wits, they tried to flee.

But how could Lu Yan allow these three to reveal his location?

With a flick of his right hand, the Three Killings Dao Truth burst from within the Mysterious Female Gate—locking onto all three Foundation Establishment peak demons.

In an instant, their movements froze.

The next moment, they plummeted from mid-air, crashing hard onto the ground. The demonic aura surrounding them melted like snow, and their cultivation levels plunged—falling to the early Foundation Establishment realm in the blink of an eye.

    Lu Yan instantly understood.

The killing intent of the Three Killings Dao Truth had triggered assimilation by the Heavenly Dao itself.
