Chapter Index

Lu Yan had once borrowed the opportunity of establishing his Unsurpassed Dao Foundation during the Spiritual Qi Revival version to temporarily replace the Heavens, experiencing for a brief moment the might of the Heavenly Dao.

Of course, the nascent and still-forming Heavenly Dao of the Spiritual Qi Revival version could not possibly compare to the complete and mature Heavenly Dao of the Demon version—it was barely a tier above the mundane Dao of a modern urban world devoid of supernatural elements.

Still, a Heavenly Dao was a Heavenly Dao. It governed the grand momentum of a version’s world, and the so-called Great Dao Laws were nothing more than components within the Heavenly Dao’s framework, used to maintain the world’s operation.

As the source of all Daos, the Mysterious Female (玄牝) undoubtedly held an incredibly lofty status, yet even it could only bow before the authority of the Heavenly Dao.

Lu Yan once again attempted to extract a tributary of the great vortex, and sure enough, the Mysterious Female continued to actively slow its rotation, accommodating Lu Yan’s theft of Dao Truth with no resistance.

Seeing this, Lu Yan’s suspicion became all the more certain.

“Although the state of ‘replacing the Heavens’ has long ended, the Version Update Interface still treats my thoughts as the will of the Spiritual Qi Heavenly Dao, and even granted me access to the authority of version designation.

“If even the Version Update Interface was fooled… then for the Demon version’s Heavenly Dao to submit to me is only natural.”

With this realization, Lu Yan’s heart surged with delight.

The reason he had resisted cultivating True Laws before was precisely because these laws were deeply tied to the world’s Heavenly Dao. The Demon version’s Heavenly Dao was especially dangerous—one wrong step and he could be assimilated.

But now, the Heavenly Dao regarded him as the Dao itself. Corruption, assimilation, all such worries were now irrelevant.

In this Demon version, Lu Yan could freely comprehend the Dao and acquire rule-level powers!

He temporarily stopped circulating the True Law and withdrew his consciousness back to the real world. His right hand opened, and in his palm, the Mysterious Female Gate spun gently—now twice as large as before.

“If the Mysterious Female Gate behaves this way, then the other True Laws must also be connected to their respective Heavenly Daos, each producing a different Dao Truth.”

Thinking this, Lu Yan glanced at his three ghostly protectors and gave the order:

“Guard me. I will attempt to cultivate a demon-version True Law.”

Upon hearing this, the Giant Spirit God immediately dispatched the ghostly troops to clear the surrounding mountains, the Blood God patrolled the perimeter to guard against any demon intrusion, and the Guardian God stood watchfully behind Lu Yan with a solemn expression.

Lu Yan’s consciousness then dove into his sea of consciousness as he began to try the second True Law—The Grand Malice Resonance Scripture.

Unquestionably, this Grand Malice Resonance Scripture was a distorted version of the urban Daoist classic The Grand Purity Resonance Scripture, corrupted through the Demon version into a True Law that pointed directly to the Heavenly Dao.

Circulating the Grand Malice Resonance Scripture, Lu Yan’s awareness once again plunged into the corresponding Heavenly Dao. Yet before long, he noticed something unusual.

This Heavenly Dao also expressed submission, letting him freely extract Dao Truth.

But when Lu Yan tried to internalize the Dao Truth he had extracted—he abruptly realized he could not contain a second Dao Truth.

Startled, Lu Yan immediately switched to a different technique, but encountered the same result.

Whether it was the Scripture of Return to the Void, the Nameless Dream Sutra of Heaven and Earth, or the Three Killings Canon of the Yin Talisman, none of them worked.

Out of all seventeen True Laws, only the Sermon of the Mysterious Female Scripture’s Dao Truth could coexist with him.

This realization brought a wave of disappointment.

He had thought to take advantage of the Demon version to master over a dozen rule-level Dao Truths in one go. But now, it seemed there were limitations after all.

Gazing at the Dao Truth manifested from the Three Killings Canon of the Yin Talisman, Lu Yan recalled its original form—the Yin Talisman Scripture from the urban version, which was tied to the Dao of Killing.

“When Heaven moves to kill, stars shift and constellations realign.
When Earth moves to kill, dragons and serpents rise from the land.
When Man moves to kill, Heaven and Earth turn upside down.”

To master the Three Killings Canon, was to invoke the Heaven, Earth, and Human Killings in battle—causing enemies to feel the world itself wishing to destroy them.

They might find the surrounding Qi suddenly chaotic, leading to instant cultivation deviation…

Or walking across solid ground, a landslide might suddenly bury them alive…

Or even a passing expert might take offense for no reason and casually swat them to death.

This Three Killings Dao Truth was high in rank, with terrifying upper and lower bounds—one that Lu Yan greatly desired.

“What a pity. Looks like I won’t get the chance.”

As he prepared to release the Dao Truth back to the Heavenly Dao…

A sudden flash of insight struck Lu Yan’s mind—and the Mysterious Female Gate manifested.

The pale violet vortex looked like the Gate of All Heaven and Earth—the source and end of all laws and all Daos.

“Even if the Mysterious Female Gate isn’t a gate in the conventional sense, it is still a gate. Could it be used to store other Dao Truths?”

Lu Yan carefully attempted to insert the stolen fragment of the Three Killings Dao Truth into the Mysterious Female Gate.

In the next moment, he saw the pale violet vortex slowly devouring the Three Killings Dao Truth.

When the last wisp of it was consumed, he closed his eyes and focused on the sensation.

A moment later, Lu Yan opened his eyes and slowly raised his right hand.

The Mysterious Female Gate unfurled, and as Lu Yan activated it, a Dao Truth emerged from the gate—and locked onto a tree several hundred meters away.

In the next instant, a bolt of heavenly lightning split the sky, slamming into the tree and reducing it to charcoal in a burst of fire and sparks.

    But it wasn’t over yet.

From a distant mountaintop, a massive boulder that had rested for centuries suddenly fell, smashing into the charred tree and grinding it into powder.

Deep within the forest, the shadow creatures—recently restored—were drawn by the commotion. They crept over and began to gnaw and devour the fragments of charcoal, occasionally gagging as if they had eaten something foul.

In the span of mere breaths, that tree was utterly erased from the Demon version of the world.

Lu Yan stared in amazement at the palm-sized Mysterious Female Gate in his hand. There was no doubt—what he had just unleashed through it was the Three Killings Dao Truth!

The Heaven, Earth, and Human killing forces had stirred at once, creating a seemingly coincidental chain of events that completely annihilated the tree.

Only now did Lu Yan fully comprehend the true value of the Mysterious Female Gate.

“The Valley Spirit never dies. It is called the Mysterious Female.
The gate of the Mysterious Female is called the root of Heaven and Earth.”

As the origin of all Daos and laws, the Mysterious Female Gate was inherently linked to every Heavenly Dao. Housing manifested Dao Truths was a trivial matter for it.

Even if multiple Dao Truths could not coexist directly within Lu Yan’s body, he could simply use the Mysterious Female Gate as the core, fusing other Dao Truths into it.

And when needed, he could call upon them freely.

Realizing this, Lu Yan finally smiled.

The sixteen remaining True Laws stored in his sea of consciousness… now finally had purpose.
