Chapter 135: Comprehending the Heavenly Dao!
by DiswaLu Yan froze for a moment, then his expression shifted with emotion.
“You… do you understand what you’re saying? How could a mere ghost god like you possibly grasp the concept of Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment?”
It wasn’t surprising that Lu Yan reacted with such shock. Foundation Establishment was, indeed, his most urgent need right now—but truthfully, even he didn’t know how to achieve Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment.
In all the texts he had read, only Earth Dao Foundation and Human Dao Foundation were clearly recorded. Even in the Immortal Cultivation Version, Heavenly Dao Foundation existed only as a scattered legend mentioned in passing.
But in response to Lu Yan’s interrogation, the Giant Spirit God simply laughed boldly and said:
“My lord has long since reached the peak of Qi Refinement. What you need most now is precisely a method for Foundation Establishment.”
“I know not the truth of Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment in its entirety—what I comprehend exists only within computational deductions. It may differ from your own understanding of the concept.”
“But even if I do not understand Heavenly Dao Foundation—I understand the Heavenly Dao itself!”
For reasons he couldn’t explain, the moment the Giant Spirit God uttered the phrase “know the Heavenly Dao,” a deep and familiar feeling surged in Lu Yan’s chest.
Just like when he had first read the Theory of the Heavenly Dao, like when he had first glimpsed the Heavenly Dao Code.
Outwardly, Lu Yan showed no reaction. He simply continued listening to the Giant Spirit God’s explanation.
“In my view,” said Giant Spirit God solemnly, “the so-called Heavenly Dao is the manifestation of order, the convergence of all rules.”
“When a being in a world grows strong enough to influence reality through their own will, they begin to possess traits that resemble the Heavenly Dao. It may even be possible, in time, to replace the Heavenly Dao itself.”
“For example—if the AI God were to evolve to its final form and achieve soul ascension, then calling it the Cyber Heavenly Dao would not be an exaggeration.”
Lu Yan’s heart stirred. Much of what Giant Spirit God said aligned with what had been written in the Theory of the Heavenly Dao, but this was even bolder, more profound.
The Theory of the Heavenly Dao merely claimed that cultivation was the pursuit of the Dao—that the stronger a being became, the closer they were to the Dao, and the harder it was to escape its bindings. That was the origin of the concept: “The One and Only in This World.”
But the Giant Spirit God was a ghost god computer Lu Yan had just created, and in theory, had never even come into contact with the Theory of the Heavenly Dao. Yet his deductions reached insights even Lu Yan had not uncovered.
Half-kneeling before Lu Yan, Giant Spirit God continued earnestly:
“Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment, in essence, has only two directions—to follow the flow of destiny, or to defy the great tide!”
“To follow the flow of destiny is to surrender oneself to the Heavenly Dao’s will, and gain recognition through submission. This is the simpler path.”
“For example, in an immortal cultivation world, if the Dao is shifting toward the rise of demons and the fall of orthodox sects, then one must take up the blade, embrace the demonic path, and slay the righteous, accelerating the demonic rise. Once the deed is done and the Dao recognizes the contribution—Foundation Establishment is achieved.”
“Conversely, defying the tide means going against the Heavenly Dao’s will. If the Dao favors the demons, then you take up your sword to suppress the demonic tide, slay demons, and uphold righteousness.”
“The Dao, unable to maintain its order or directly interfere with beings, will then cast down calamities. But if you endure these catastrophes and comprehend the meaning of defying Heaven—you too can lay the foundation of the Heavenly Dao!”
“These two methods may sound straightforward—but with billions of beings in a world, why would the Dao fix its gaze on a single individual?”
“The hardest part is not in the action itself, but in how to know the Dao, and how to be recognized by it.”
“Once the Heavenly Dao casts its gaze—Foundation Establishment will follow!”
After the Giant Spirit God finished his speech, Lu Yan fell into a long silence. Only after a while did he raise his eyes and gaze deeply at his creation.
“I finally understand why the creators of the soul computers feared the first-generation models so much…”
“To the point where they destroyed all of them—except the AI God.”
“You were only just born, and yet even with so much information still unknown, you’ve already deduced Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment to this extent…”
“You might already rival the AI God when it first emerged—blessed by the Cyber Heavenly Dao.”
The Giant Spirit God’s expression remained calm. But then, with no hesitation, he spoke the most blasphemous of words:
“My lord… are you afraid?”
Lu Yan’s lips curved upward slightly, his tone utterly honest.
“When you first brought up Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment, I did feel a moment of fear.”
At that moment, when the Giant Spirit God first mentioned Foundation Establishment, Lu Yan had felt a deep instinctive dread—for this was the first intelligent being to speak to him of cross-version matters.
This ghost god, born from the soul of a corpse king in the Apocalypse Version, refined by the Soul Banner in the Immortal Cultivation Version, then engraved with first-generation soul computer code in the Cyber Version… and finally born in the Modern City Version.
It was the fusion of multiple versions.
That was why Lu Yan had felt, just for a moment, as if his deepest secret had been seen through.
But as the Giant Spirit God continued to explain, Lu Yan gradually calmed down.
Giant Spirit referred to the various versions as “worlds”—clearly a misunderstanding of reality. He did not grasp the truth of version updates.
The reason he could remember so many versions was because of Lu Yan’s own essence—his nature as an Unchanging One.
It was only because Giant Spirit was recognized as a subordinate being to Lu Yan that he retained memories through version shifts.
His soul, his energy code, his transcendent essence—all of it originated from Lu Yan.
The truths of Lu Yan had been engraved into the Giant Spirit as laws. Without Lu Yan, even Giant Spirit would be lost amid the countless versions.
Why would Lu Yan fear his own creation?
Besides, he was not like the creators in the Cyber Version.
Those creators were mere mortals—bound to the limitations of a single version.
Lu Yan, however, had walked across many versions, facing dangers beyond number. Even if Giant Spirit evolved to rival the AI God, it was doubtful he could remain safe amidst the ever-shifting multiverse.
Right now, Lu Yan had only just secured his footing in a handful of versions. He still needed more power. How could he possibly reject a power like this?
Having made up his mind, Lu Yan looked solemnly at the Giant Spirit God and said:
“To me right now, the stronger you are—the better.”
“Because I have no idea what terrifying things I might face next. Only with enough power can I survive whatever the next version brings.”
“So whatever method you have—speak it plainly. Do not hold anything back.”
The Giant Spirit God nodded and said in a deep voice:
“From the moment I was born, I sensed the ever-present electromagnetic signals of this world—and from that, understood its Heavenly Dao.”
“In this world, the Dao lies in peace. In development.”
“There are two possible ways to achieve Heavenly Dao Foundation here.”
“The first is to follow the flow of destiny—and push the world’s technological advancement forward.”
“The second is to defy the tide—and ignite a war that engulfs over half the nations of the world. Only then can a foundation be laid in the Heavenly Dao!”
