Chapter 109: The Heaven’s Code Ring
by DiswaThe Soul World was enormous.
As a world meticulously crafted by the AI God over hundreds of years, using billions of souls working day and night to construct it, its scale was simply staggering.
Even with one main soul and eight hundred Fierce Ghosts, Lu Yan’s forces didn’t even amount to a single drop in the ocean of this vast domain.
Relying solely on these ghosts to destroy the Soul World? That was nothing more than a fool’s dream.
Even if the Fierce Ghosts were allowed to rampage freely for an entire year, they probably still wouldn’t be able to outpace the repairs made by the billions of souls working to maintain this world.
Not to mention—high above in the firmament—the AI God constantly monitored the Soul World.
Although the Heaven’s Code could deceive the AI God, the damage caused by the ghosts within the Soul World could not be hidden.
If any widespread destruction occurred, the AI God wouldn’t even need to pinpoint the culprits. A single massive catastrophe—natural or engineered—could wipe out all the ghosts in one fell swoop.
That meant Lu Yan had only one chance.
He needed to cause irreversible, large-scale destruction to delay soul ascension.
To anyone else, that would be impossible. But Lu Yan had a trump card:
The Heaven’s Code.
Lu Yan led his army of Fierce Ghosts forward, eventually arriving at a barren wasteland.
As far as the eye could see, the land stretched endlessly. A few withered trees stood here and there, and far off on the horizon lay the very edge of the world. When a soul reached out, they could clearly feel the swirling darkness beyond the world’s barrier.
This was the boundary of the Soul World—a heavily fortified area long since patched and secured by the billions of working souls.
Even so, Lu Yan could still sense the endless darkness pressing in from beyond, always trying to breach and disrupt the order of the Soul World.
“This is where it begins,” Lu Yan murmured.
He glanced over the assembled ghosts. Behind the Bloodbeard Main Soul, countless soul tendrils stretched outward, linking every Fierce Ghost together.
In that moment, Lu Yan could clearly sense his consciousness split across all 800 ghosts. With a mere thought, he could control each and every one.
This was a new ability that had emerged after Bloodbeard advanced to the Foundation Establishment stage—an evolved form of his Soul Merging Art.
Back in the Qi Refining stage, Bloodbeard could only fuse the ghosts into himself to enhance his strength. But now, as a Foundation Establishment spirit, he could maintain constant links to every Fierce Ghost without merging—essentially forming a networked mind.
Normally, Fierce Ghosts—though powerful—were mindless and acted purely on instinct. Without Lu Yan’s control, they couldn’t perform complex tasks.
But in this synchronized soul-linked state, Lu Yan could easily command all 800 ghosts to carry out intricate operations—including data compilation.
The Fierce Ghosts, under his control, quickly formed neat rows across the wasteland and began compiling information using their soul computation power.
But this time, they weren’t compiling data on the Soul World’s earth or sky.
Their target was something far more profound—the Heaven’s Code itself.
Starting from the edge of the Soul World’s barrier, massive strands of soul computation began to condense into chains of spiritual code—long sequences of Heaven’s Code forming perfect lines across the landscape.
The Fierce Ghosts, far stronger than ordinary souls, adapted quickly to the soul link. And once synchronized, their speed of compiling Heaven’s Code became astonishing.
In the span of a single breath, dozens of meters of code stretched forward—visibly extending toward the depths of the Soul World like glowing veins.
In the time the ghosts had spent here, Lu Yan had run countless experiments—testing everything from soul information compilation, to capturing souls in the Soul Banner, to analyzing the Heaven’s Code itself.
The first two experiments were heavily restricted by the AI God’s monitoring, so Lu Yan had been cautious not to trigger suspicion.
But in his Heaven’s Code research, he’d made major breakthroughs.
He had always wondered: How could just a few lines of this spiritual code deceive something as omnipotent as the AI God? What was the underlying logic of these codes? What mechanism allowed them to function?
Much of this involved the fundamental rules of spiritual computation, which were still beyond Lu Yan’s understanding.
But through experimentation, he discovered something vital:
The Heaven’s Code didn’t directly hide its users from the AI God.
Instead, the AI God instinctively ignored anything containing the code—as if it simply didn’t exist in its perception.
In other words, to the AI God, there was no such thing as the Heaven’s Code.
That’s why ghosts inscribed with it could enter the Soul World unimpeded.
With this in mind, Lu Yan had tried etching Heaven’s Code directly into the Soul World.
But… nothing happened.
Why? Because while the AI God ignored the code, the code itself didn’t have any active power. It was like invisible ink—harmless on its own.
Until…
Lu Yan linked the beginning and end of the code into a ring.
That’s when something miraculous occurred.
The area enclosed by the Heaven’s Code began to separate from the Soul World. Then it fell into the darkness beyond, vanishing into a void.
Lu Yan was stunned.
But soon he understood what had happened.
The Soul World, though built by billions of souls, was still structured and maintained by the AI God.
Its framework, its rules, all relied on the AI God’s authority.
So when the Heaven’s Code formed a closed ring, it essentially created a region that the AI God could no longer perceive. That area dropped out of the AI God’s awareness—and out of its control.
And since the AI God’s rules no longer applied there, that segment was cut off from the Soul World—becoming an isolated, floating void.
The small ring Lu Yan had tested wasn’t strong enough to maintain itself, so it quickly fell into the abyss and became an empty hole.
Other souls soon came to patch the breach, so the void only lasted a few hours. In the grand scheme of things, it was meaningless.
But this discovery thrilled Lu Yan.
He realized that if he could use the same technique—drawing a massive ring of Heaven’s Code—then once the loop was complete, a large chunk of the Soul World would be severed entirely.
A giant void would appear—fracturing the existing framework.
Sure, a small hole could be patched. But what about a breach that covered one-thousandth… one-hundredth of the entire world?
Could it still be repaired?
Even if the AI God could somehow stabilize the system, such a massive rupture would undoubtedly delay soul ascension.
And that would give Lu Yan the breathing room he so desperately needed—
Enough time to wait for the next version update!
