Chapter 73: Helping to Move

The next morning, Chen Feng was woken up by his phone’s alarm.

It was already eight o’clock in the morning. After a hasty wash-up, Chen Feng drove to Wu Mengting’s place.

It was a mid-range residential complex, a two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment with a monthly rent of four thousand.

It was a bit far from the magazine office where Wu Mengting currently worked, taking over half an hour to drive there every day.

The moving company had already been called. By the time Chen Feng arrived, they were already in the process of moving.

Including the moving company’s small truck, a total of four cars drove to their new rented apartment.

It was a residential complex that had been built over a decade ago, but the building still looked relatively new. It was also a two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment, on the 9th floor. They had already come here a few days ago to clean up, and had even set up some of the kitchen utensils and stove.

After the movers brought the things upstairs, they started to get busy, mainly taking things out of the cardboard and plastic boxes and putting them in place.

After they had arranged everything, Chen Feng, who had been waiting for a long time, finally had a chance to be useful, which was to help them set up the two beds.

The main weight of the two Simmons mattresses was the mattress itself. The three of them just needed to lift it and put it on the bed frame.

After another ten minutes or so, the two women finally finished setting up their new home.

“Done! Let’s start preparing to cook. To celebrate our move.”

Chen Feng understood this. He believed that many working people were the same. They worked hard to earn money, while those landlords just had to play mahjong and cards every day, and collect rent from them every month. Their lives were much more comfortable and carefree than those of the workers.

Chen Feng comforted her, “When you make money in the future, you can just buy a place of your own.”

Wu Mengting smiled bitterly and shook her head, “I definitely can’t. Wan’er might have a chance. If she becomes a popular streamer, she can buy a house within a year. I have a fixed salary. I don’t know when I’ll be able to save up a few hundred thousand for a down payment.”
