    Chapter 29: Illusionary Eye

After the first match concluded, the subsequent matches proceeded smoothly, but unfortunately, they weren’t as exciting, often resulting in one-sided victories.

As Hylial prepared to draw lots, Jero waved to her and walked over.

“Lia, you don’t need to go on stage. The instructor specifically told me so.” Today, he was acting as an errand boy for Scholar Hyde and Viscount Xuefeng, connecting with the students in the arena.

“This…” Hylial looked at the VIP seats in the distance and stopped.

“I understand, but did the instructor say why? Not participating in the matches will扣分, won’t it?”

“The instructor said that your progress in the Dew Prayer Method will be converted into match scores,” Jero explained to the young girl. Afterward, he comforted this quiet girl.

“It’s alright, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. It takes a lot of time and effort for you to learn gardening techniques, and that’s similar to combat.”

“Understood, thank you, Senior Jero.” She thanked him and returned to the休息區.

This process was observed by many students, who began to whisper.

“Miss Lia is going on stage too. Can she even hold a sword?”

“Jero stopped her. As expected, she doesn’t need to. I’m afraid I might hurt her if I go up there.”

“Although she’s physically weak, Lia’s scores in secret history have always been at the top, probably catching up with Miss Iona.”

“She might also take the scholar route in the future, so combat truly isn’t necessary.”

“Instructor Hyde genuinely likes her. This special treatment is probably for her.”

“Heh, if you get perfect scores in secret history every time, the instructor will definitely take care of you too.”

As everyone laughed and chatted, another match ended, and now new duels were about to begin.

    “Match 7, Solin versus Karen.”

“Ah, I actually ran into that guy Solin.” Komia murmured from the休息區, complaining quietly on behalf of Karen’s draw.

“It’s fine, I’ll run into strong classmates sooner or later anyway.” Karen didn’t feel much, she tidied up her training leather armor, put it on, and then walked towards the high platform.

“Go for it!” Komia waved from behind.

Hylial, who had just returned, also met Karen and cheered her on.

“Thank you, Lia.” Then Karen picked up her spear and stepped onto the stage.

The match quickly began. In the battle, Karen continuously used the advantage of her spear’s length to create distance, trying her best to suppress Solin’s offense. Unfortunately, the disparity in strength between the two could not be compensated for by such techniques.

    ‘Power Burst!’

The power of Solin’s ‘Blood Discipline’ aspect instantly surged, drastically enhancing his physique. His shrieking blade directly split Karen’s spear shaft, then he lunged forward and kicked Karen, sending her flying several meters through the air and off the stage.

In fact, this was still the result of him holding back. If he had used his sword instead of his foot, Karen would probably have been cut in half.

“His power still needs to be controlled…” In the VIP viewing room, Scholar Hyde shook his head.

“Heh, young people, don’t be so harsh. He hasn’t even entered the ‘First Order’ yet. It’s already rare for him to master the ‘Power Burst’ ability.” Viscount Xuefeng summoned an attendant.

“Get a bottle of healing potion from the库里 and give it to that girl, then have a doctor check on her.”

    “Yes, my lord.”

After this battle concluded, the subsequent matches became rather dull, until Iona appeared, effortlessly defeating her opponent with elegant swordplay, drawing applause and cheers from many.

In the休息室 below the stage, Hylial and Komia accompanied Karen, asking about her condition.

“I still feel uncomfortable, I probably won’t be able to participate in the next few matches.” Karen shook her head, her face pale.

“It’s all that Solin’s fault, he hit so hard!” Komia said indignantly.

However, before she could complain further, the referee’s voice echoed across the training ground.

    “Next match, Komia versus Solin.”

“Oh, did they call me? Did they call me? I must teach that guy a good lesson.” Komia immediately brightened up.

Karen shook her head, holding Komia’s hand, telling her not to go.

“You’ll only get hurt if you go.”

“Is Komia really going to participate?” Hylial asked with concern. She was roughly aware of Komia’s hidden abilities, but still considered it very risky.

“Of course, if I swallow this, I won’t be able to sleep for a month.” Komia pulled her hand away from Karen’s, and trotted towards the high platform.

“Watch me, Karen.” As she walked, she pulled out a small bottle of potion from her pocket, poured it into her mouth, and stepped onto the high platform.

    ————

On the high platform, Solin and Komia stood opposite each other. Solin was currently contemplating how much force to use and how to get her off the stage without hurting her.

Having injured Karen just now, Komia must really hate him, Solin thought to himself.

    “Solin.”

Komia suddenly called his name, causing him to involuntarily look at her.

This look made Solin stand frozen on the spot. What kind of eyes were those? Her normally dark brown pupils were now filled with white mist, swirling and flowing.

This bizarre sight brought Solin an invisible fear, making him dare not act rashly.

Under the scorching sun, large drops of sweat constantly dripped from Solin’s forehead and back. He felt a chilling sensation in his limbs, as if facing an evil, alien being lurking within a mortal body. This extreme unknown tightened his nerves, and an invisible dread began to spread through his body.

His body trembled, the ground seemed to sway, and the fierce sunlight overhead seemed to darken. Every second felt incredibly long and agonizing.

Finally, Solin could no longer endure, collapsing to the ground, unconscious.

    “Phew…”

Seeing Solin collapse, Komia also slowly knelt on the ground, clutching her head, which felt like it was about to explode.

Although her spiritual power was stronger than Solin’s, she had not yet reached the ‘First Order – Mist Shadow’. Moreover, the Illusionary Eye was not particularly strong at guiding and suppressing fear. If not for the potion she had just taken, she probably wouldn’t have been able to make Solin faint.

    “Komia wins!”

Although this match was unusually strange, the referee seemed unfazed, understanding certain extraordinary methods.

“Komia still couldn’t resist using her trump card. Now, I’m afraid she won’t be able to continue in the next few matches,” Scholar Hyde commented.

“Did the instructor know for a long time that Komia possessed the ‘Mist Shadow’ aspect ability?” Jero asked curiously.

“Yes, her meditation method, I taught her myself.” Hyde recalled events from two years ago.

“At that time, her parents brought her over, saying that the child always dreamed at night, talked in her sleep, and was restless during the day.”

“I found her spirit to be remarkably active and suspected she had some kind of talent. So, I tried teaching her the meditation method, and she learned it quickly.”

“It’s a pity that she leans towards the ‘Mist Shadow’ aspect. Going to the forest to further her studies with those witches would be the best option; otherwise, I would have taken her as my student directly.”

“Those witches are skilled in the three aspect powers of the moon, and even the Candlefort School dare not easily underestimate them.”

“If you go to the hidden forest, you can also encounter members of their school there.”

“I can’t go, instructor.” Jero was quite self-aware.

“So, you have other plans?” Scholar Hyde turned his head to look at his student.

“Yes, I have decided to continue my travels and studies until I enter the ‘Second Order – Secret Word’ aspect, then go to Candlefort to apply for the资格 to step through the gate.”

“That is a very difficult path,” Scholar Hyde slowly remarked.

“I hope you can truly persevere.” His voice carried a hint of emotion, as if recalling some past events.
