Chapter Index

When they were taken to the Public Security Bureau headquarters, the place was already packed with people.

The burly man shouted to everyone, “Don’t rush, everyone line up, have your identities checked, give a brief statement, and you can leave once everything is confirmed!”

Hearing this, many people breathed a sigh of relief.

Just as Ji Jingqiu was about to join the queue, someone grabbed his arm from the side and pulled him out of the crowd.

    It is Zhang Xingshan.

    “Come with me.”

Zhang Xingshan smiled and led him into the corridor next door.

The burly man from before is also here.

This guy’s arms alone are thicker than Ji Jingqiu’s thighs. Aura is fierce and full of masculinity.

He grinned and patted Ji Jingqiu heavily on the shoulder:

“Good lad! You must be Ji Jingqiu, right? Xiao Shanzi has been talking about you a lot at home these past few days. I haven’t seen him care about someone his age like this in a long time!”

Zhang Xingshan looked extremely embarrassed. He hadn’t been constantly mentioning Ji Jingqiu; he’d only brought it up occasionally, and that was only because he was dissatisfied with Qi!

“My name is Zhang Xingyi, and I am his second brother. You can also call me second brother.”

“Old Yao originally asked that guy surnamed Luo to help you out, but unfortunately that sissy Luo is a good-for-nothing, so I have to do it myself!”

Zhang Xingyi was beaming with pride.

“Alright, I have other things to take care of. You’ve been through a lot. Let Xiao Shanzi take a quick statement from you, and then I’ll arrange for someone to take you back.”

After saying that, he turned and left decisively.

Only Zhang Xingshan and Ji Jingqiu remained.

Zhang Xingshan quickly calmed down and said, “Come on, go rest for a while. I’ll have someone take a quick statement for you, and then arrange a car to take you home.”

Ji Jingqiu followed him to a private office, which was empty. The nameplate on the desk read Zhang Xingyi’s name.

“Please sit down first, I’ll go get you some food and drinks.”

After saying that, Zhang Xingshan walked out.

Ji Jingqiu found a place to sit down inside, first sending a message to Great Master to let him know she was safe, and then fell into deep thought.

What he cares about most right now isn’t the sudden attack, but the buzz-cut man who suddenly appeared!

What exactly is this guy’s identity?

Was he also involved in this terrorist attack?

Otherwise, why would he happen to be there too?

There were too many suspicious things about that person, and it seemed like he was targeting me.

That jade Buddha is proof of that.

Once Ji Jingqiu realized this, she felt extremely uneasy.

No… I have to do something.

After a moment’s thought, the only solution he could think of was to take this opportunity to inform the Public Security Bureau about the man’s unusual behavior.

The Public Security Bureau will not let a cult member with strange behavior show up near a terrorist attack site!

A short while later, Zhang Xingshan brought some food and led an officer to take a brief statement from Ji Jingqiu.

Upon hearing that Ji Jingqiu, along with other passersby, had saved a tram full of passengers, Zhang Xingshan couldn’t help but show his admiration and approval.

They were all young and full of heart and soul, and moreover, they had all ventured into martial arts. Zhang Xingshan felt that if he had been there, he would have done the same!

The operative who took the statement, Ji Jingqiu, deserves praise:

“If you hadn’t chosen to help, you should have been able to evacuate in time.”

The people who were stopped were those who did not evacuate in time.

When the Public Security Bureau and the Security Bureau arrived, they quickly defeated the terrorists, but some of them scattered and fled. To prevent them from blending into the general population, it was decided to check all of them.

Anyone among these people who lives on the lower floors will not be able to leave tonight; they all need further investigation.

After the statement was taken, Ji Jingqiu hesitated and said, “I saw a suspicious person when I was rescuing people.”

“A few days ago, there were some lower-level Gang members proselytizing near where I live. I just saw one of them in that area.”

Upon hearing this, the operative immediately became serious. After asking Ji Jingqiu about the specific time and place of the missionary’s visit, he asked her to describe the person’s appearance before hurriedly walking out.

    A moment later.

Zhang Xingyi strode in, carrying a tablet, his brow furrowed.

“Xiao Qiu, take a look, do you recognize this woman?”

Ji Jingqiu looked bewildered. How did she become a woman?

Wasn’t he just talking about a man with a buzz cut?

I took the tablet and saw two photos on it.

One is a candid photo: the grass is low and the wind is blowing across the lake. The scenery is beautiful, but it can’t compare to the figure in a white dress blooming like a flower by the lakeside. It’s a girl with dark eyes that reveal a mischievous Spirit Monster, as if she’s thinking of some prank.

The second image is a video, showing a somewhat dusty-looking girl climbing out of a tram.

    It’s her?!

Ji Jingqiu nodded and shook her head, making Zhang Xingyi dizzy.

He quickly explained Dao: “I don’t know her, but she was trapped inside the tram before, and I broke the window to rescue her.”

Zhang Xingyi relented. Dao: “In that case, it’s alright.”

“Second brother, is there something wrong with this girl?” Zhang Xingshan asked Dao from the side.

“I don’t know, but just now a guy surnamed Wang from the Security Bureau came to cause trouble, saying that the Municipal Government issued an order to collect all information about the girl’s whereabouts. They’ve reviewed the surrounding surveillance footage and now they want us to hand over Ji Jingqiu.”

Zhang Xingshan exclaimed in shock: “Could this girl also be a terrorist?”

“It’s not our business, why are you meddling in it?”

“So what do we do now? Are we really going to hand over Ji Jingqiu?”

“Screw you!” Zhang Xingyi’s temper flared up instantly. “That guy surnamed Wang just got refuted by me, and now he’s using this as an excuse to slap me in the face. What did your second brother teach you? A real man can lose his head and bleed, but he can’t lose face!”

Zhang Xingshan breathed a sigh of relief.

If this is handed over, it will give the Luo family an opportunity to make their move.

And how will he explain this to the martial arts school later?

What will others think of him?

A moment later, the door was flung open by Wang, the Deputy Bureau Chief of the Security Bureau. His gaze swept across the room, then settled on Ji Jingqiu, his eyes lighting up with surprise. He turned back to drink his tea.

“Men, take this kid back to the Security Bureau!”

Zhang Xingyi flew into a rage, brandishing his sword and shouting, “Let’s see who dares to arrest anyone in my Public Security Bureau today!”

Wang An sneered, ” Zhang Xingyi, harboring and protecting suspicious individuals, I think you don’t want to work here anymore!”

Zhang Xingyi suddenly suppressed his anger and sneered:

“According to Deputy Director Yang of the Municipal Government, the Public Security Bureau is fully responsible for handling this terrorist attack case.”

We now suspect that Ji Jingqiu is involved in this terrorist attack and have been temporarily detained pending interrogation!

Seeing that he was completely impeccable, Wang An’s face darkened: “You’d better not regret this, this kid is someone Secretary Zhang specifically wants!”

“Go ahead!” Zhang Xingyi remained unmoved.

“Fine, fine, fine!” Wang An laughed angrily. “Let’s see how you get out of this today!”

After saying that, he turned around and went to make a phone call.

Zhang Xingshan looked worried; he hadn’t expected this matter to involve Secretary Zhang of the Municipal Government. ( Ji Jingqiu) Secretary Zhang represents the highest leadership in Ancheng.

Zhang Xingyi shook his head slightly at him, indicating that there was no need to rush and that everything was under control.

Ten minutes later, under the smiling face of Deputy Bureau Chief Wang, a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses walked into the room.

He was walking hurriedly, his breathing was rapid, he had obviously come in a great hurry, and his face looked extremely unwell.

He came in and immediately started attacking Dao:

“ Deputy Bureau Chief Wang, you’ve created a rift between the Public Security Bureau and the Security Bureau, as if you’re afraid others won’t know your true intentions. Is this your way of keeping a low profile?”

“I really don’t know how you got to the position of deputy director of the Security Bureau, Dao! It’s utterly foolish!”

Wang An was taken aback to find himself being harshly scolded.

Zhang Xingyi stood to the side with his arms crossed, eyes downcast, inwardly clicking his tongue.

This Municipal Government Secretary Zhang, whose position may not actually be higher than Wang An’s, still managed to reprimand the latter so harshly that he dared not talk back.

But this guy surnamed Wang is really stupid; the orders from above were to operate discreetly?

    Isn’t that a secret investigation?

This guy actually dared to take advantage of the situation and cause trouble for the Public Security Bureau. With an IQ like that, how could he be a deputy director? The Security Bureau must be full of talent!

After reprimanding Wang An, Secretary Zhang walked a few steps to Ji Jingqiu, his face gentle.

“Your name is Ji Jingqiu, right?”

“Yes, it’s me.” Ji Jingqiu nodded.

Do you recognize the girl in the photo?

Ji Jingqiu repeated her previous statement.

Secretary Zhang nodded, his expression unchanged, as if he had anticipated this before coming.

He smiled slightly and praised Dao:

“I’ve seen the video. His act of bravery, selflessness, and fearlessness is excellent! Ancheng needs talented young people like Ji!”

” The Municipal Government will award you a commendation for your act of bravery as a reward for Ji!”

“Where does Ji go to school now?”

Zhang Xingyi interjected to remind Dao: ” Secretary Zhang, Ji Jingqiu is currently studying martial arts at Yangyan Martial Arts School.”

“Oh?” Secretary Zhang was immediately moved. “So you’re a disciple of Master Yang. No wonder!”

At this point, the person turned back to Zhang Xingyi, who had spoken earlier, and made a pointed remark:

“Captain Zhang, the higher-ups will be increasing their efforts to win over and invest in local martial artists, with the Public Security Bureau taking the lead. These training targets must be implemented effectively, especially in the control and selection of candidates. We must be extremely cautious.”

He paused, seemingly feeling that his remarks weren’t direct enough, and then added:

“Young people like Ji Jingqiu, who are responsible and willing to take on responsibilities, should be given priority consideration!”

Zhang Xingyi thought to himself, “Wow!”

Previously, Yang Yao had asked me to arrange a Public Security Bureau foreign affairs officer status for him, but it hasn’t been approved yet due to the review process.

Unexpectedly, Yang Yao’s junior brother overtook him on the bend!

” Secretary Zhang, rest assured, we will definitely give priority to Ji Jingqiu, a Martial Artist of excellent character and responsibility!” Zhang Xingyi assured him, patting his chest.

“Hmm.” Secretary Zhang nodded. “I need to get back to the Municipal Government as soon as possible, so I won’t chat with you any longer. I’ll be leaving now.”

After saying that, he smiled slightly at Ji Jingqiu and turned to leave.

Wang An’s face turned ashen. After Secretary Zhang left, he slammed the door and left as well, which angered Zhang Xingyi, who was loud and boisterous, to shout from behind.

At this point, Ji Jingqiu understood perfectly well that she had seemingly saved a girl with an extraordinary background.

Secretary Zhang came here specifically to confirm the information with him; otherwise, a phone call would have sufficed, and there would have been no need for her to come in person.

He was more like stating an attitude…

I recall that inexplicable, synchronized “I’m sorry.”

    Ji Jingqiu’s expression was strange.

He apologized because the man with the buzz cut had clearly come because of him and had almost brought danger to everyone present.

Is the reason why the girl is so upset that she feels sorry for herself?

Was this terrorist attack targeting her?
