Chapter 19 Compassion
by MachineSamurai9124The screeching sound of tires screeching against the ground during sudden braking on the street was exceptionally piercing.
The panicked crowd was as if they had been doused with boiling oil, with shouts and blaring of horns rising and falling.
“Urgent Notice—”
“A Level II emergency has occurred in Block B3, tentatively classified as a terrorist attack!”
“Relevant personnel have arrived at the scene to handle the situation. Residents in the vicinity are urged not to approach the danger zone and to evacuate as soon as possible!”
“Repeated! Residents in the vicinity, please evacuate as soon as possible!”
The mechanical and cold announcements echoed repeatedly in the public areas.
“Hurry, hurry, hurry!”
“Don’t take the bag! Your life is more important than your bag!”
Ji Jingqiu and several other helpful passersby worked together to pull the people out of the overturned tram and urged them to run away into the distance.
“There’s still a girl lying unconscious there!”
“Where?!”
“The windows aren’t broken! Someone help! There are still three people inside!”
Ji Jingqiu, with the help of the people inside the car, retrieved the window-breaking hammer and rushed to the scene.
There were three people in the carriage: two girls and an elderly man. One of the girls was unconscious and had blood on her head.
He slammed his fist into the corner of the window, and spiderweb-like cracks spread instantly.
After breaking the window, he reached into the car and shouted urgently, “Quick, everyone get out!”
The only person in the car who was conscious and able to move freely was a girl who was about the same age as him.
The girl didn’t rush to climb out herself, but instead helped the old man out so that the people outside could help him out.
Then she quickly turned around, carefully lifted the unconscious woman up, gritted her teeth, and, together with Ji Jingqiu at the window, climbed out of the tram.
“Hurry up!” Ji Jingqiu urged in a low voice.
After developing his Qi, his five senses were enhanced. To him, the gunshots from the street corner were getting closer and closer.
“Oh, you’re here too, benefactor?”
At this moment.
A surprised voice rang out behind him at an inopportune moment.
The voice sounded somewhat familiar, or rather, it was vividly remembered.
Ji Jingqiu was horrified.
That sound…
He turned his head abruptly.
As expected.
The mysterious man with the buzz cut he had seen not long ago was standing behind him, staring straight at him. His deep-set eyes were dark and unfathomable, making his heart sink.
Li Buyi put his hands together and sighed to Dao: “You are indeed a compassionate person and have a connection with Buddha. However, you have gone astray in your way of doing things and need Buddha’s guidance.”
Ji Jingqiu silently recited the Visualization Method mantra in her mind, and then shouted loudly to Dao: “Master, if you want to pull people, don’t do it now! Get out of here quickly, the terrorists over there are coming!”
His gaze and words were urgent yet pure, without any hint of malice.
Ji Jingqiu knew very well that this person’s identity and background were definitely not simple, and he was most likely a member of a cult.
He was even involved in terrorist attacks on the street!
Therefore, I must not reveal any unusual emotions at this moment.
Reminded by Ji Jingqiu’s last words, the people who had been rescued began to run away into the distance.
“Handsome guy, give me a hand!”
The last girl to emerge struggled to support the unconscious woman, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Ji Jingqiu.
Ji Jingqiu stepped forward, picked up the unconscious woman, and then grabbed the girl’s arm, pulling her towards a crowded area.
He even used his full strength, carrying one person on his back and pulling another, yet he still moved with incredible speed.
He didn’t forget to shout along the way:
“Master, you should leave too!”
Watching the future Buddha’s son flee, Li Buyi smiled slightly and did not stop him, his deep eyes filled with undisguised fervor.
He truly deserves to be called a future Buddha’s child, born with a compassionate heart, but his way of doing things has been tainted by this defiled world.
The world is like a burning house, and all living beings are adrift in a sea of suffering. Killing is saving lives.
Sending them to their deaths to spare them the eight sufferings of human existence—that is true compassion!
Li Buyi sighed softly.
Buddhist disciple…it smells so good!
He was truly afraid that he might accidentally set this person on fire.
Be patient, be patient…
Despite this, his gaze, like that of a venomous scorpion, never left Ji Jingqiu’s back.
Just then.
A long, clear, and resonant sword rang out across the street, reaching his ears.
Li Buyi’s expression suddenly changed.
His gaze instantly locked onto the area facing the street.
The sound of the sword was not loud or clear, but rather like a sigh. Yet it overwhelmed the intense gunfire and stirred up a huge and violent storm that shot into the sky right next to the street!
In an instant.
The upper part of a tall building in front of them tilted and collapsed, turning into dust under countless dense flashes of light.
Li Buyi saw in the distance a man with a beautiful, feminine face, standing with his sword sheathed, his long hair flowing in the wind.
Before the other person could sense his gaze, Li Buyi turned and left without hesitation.
…
He pulled the woman all the way to a crowded place before Ji Jingqiu released the Qi that had been circulating throughout his body.
He relented.
Only then did he realize that he had gripped the girl’s arm too tightly because he was too nervous.
“Feel sorry!”
“sorry!”
He let go of her hand and apologized, but was taken aback when he heard the girl apologizing to him for no apparent reason.
The girl didn’t offer much explanation, and quickly left with her head down.
Ji Jingqiu frowned, and upon hearing the sound of an ambulance not far away, she quickly carried the unconscious woman over.
Having finished this matter, Ji Jingqiu, seeing that she couldn’t help, prepared to go home.
Unexpectedly, on their way out, they were stopped by the Security Bureau, which had already blocked their path.
There were quite a few others like him who were stopped, and they were passionately demanding that the Security Bureau let them go.
But standing at the very front, a middle-aged man of considerable rank coldly shouted:
“Silence! We’ve just received information that a number of terrorists have infiltrated the crowd and attempted to escape. You will all be taken to the Security Bureau for a thorough investigation!”
“No one is allowed to move! Any suspicious activity will be dealt with immediately!”
Upon hearing this, the scene erupted in chaos.
Ji Jingqiu also looked unwell.
What an idiot official!
Is this something you can just say out loud?
If there were terrorists infiltrated into the crowd, wouldn’t they be forced to jump out and take hostages?
Fortunately, this worst-case scenario did not occur.
There were over a hundred people present, all of whom were taken to the upper level by the Security Bureau.
Blending into the crowd, Ji Jingqiu hesitated for a moment before sending a message to Great Master Yang Yao, briefly explaining her situation.
Just for a moment.
Yang Yao replied to Dao: “Take care of yourself, someone will come to pick you up soon.”
Ji Jingqiu didn’t have to wait long.
Another fully armed team appeared in front of the Security Bureau team.
The leader was a young man who looked to be in his twenties and was also wearing a Security Bureau uniform. He went straight to the middle-aged man.
Ji Jingqiu circulated her Qi to enhance her hearing, and overheard the conversation between the two.
“ Deputy Bureau Chief Wang, one of the citizens you stopped is my friend’s junior. I guarantee he is not a fugitive terrorist. Please allow me to take him away.”
“No way! Captain Luo, you can’t take responsibility for this! And if you take him away now, how am I supposed to explain this to the other citizens? I personally hate this kind of nepotism the most!”
These words sound righteous and grand.
The young man surnamed Luo gave him a deep look, then turned and left without saying a word.
Ji Jingqiu sighed inwardly in the crowd.
Looks like I’ll be spending tonight at the Security Bureau.
But to his surprise…
Before long, personnel from the Public Security Bureau appeared in front of them.
“Get out of the way! The Public Security Bureau will take over this matter!”
A sharp shout, showing no respect whatsoever to the Security Bureau’s accomplices.
Led by a burly man, a large number of fully armed Public Security Bureau agents stormed in, driving straight in and directly driving away the Security Bureau agents maintaining order in the surrounding area.
Previously righteous and awe- inspiring Deputy Bureau Chief Wang stormed forward to negotiate.
“Oh, Vice President Wang is here too. Well, thank you so much for helping us gather our personnel. We won’t trouble you with the rest. The Municipal Government has ordered that the Public Security Bureau be responsible for handling the aftermath of this incident.”
The head of the Public Security Bureau was unmoved and dismissed him with indifferent words.
“If you ask me, Vice President Wang should hurry up and think about how to explain this terrorist attack to the Municipal Government.”
“By the way, I heard that Vice Wang’s father-in-law was recently dismissed from his post? Hahaha, no offense, just asking out of curiosity, don’t misunderstand, just pure curiosity!”
After saying that, the burly man turned around and scolded Dao: “Hurry up, everyone! Don’t leave anyone behind!”
Under the fiery gaze of Deputy Bureau Chief Wang, the Public Security Bureau took over and took everyone away in several buses.
