Chapter Index

    Moon Rabbit, huh…

Hylial paused at the name, then reacted and sat down at a nearby seat.

Moon Rabbits are a very special race, completely different from other demi-human subspecies. They are almost entirely independent, and their emergence is relatively recent, only appearing in the Ninth Epoch, the Covenant Epoch.

The being capable of elevating a race is, naturally, no ordinary entity, but the “Fantasy Black Rabbit” who acquired the Star-Lord position of ‘Glorious Moon’. It was originally an immortal beast of the ‘Nightmare’ path. After the fall of the previous ‘Lord of Dreams’ and Glorious Moon Star-Lord, the Silvermoon Dragon, the ‘Fantasy Black Rabbit’ usurped the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord position through a special method.

Its success was also due to the death of the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord’s strongest competitor, ‘Silverlight Saintess Merelankah’, which meant no one could approach the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord position for a short period.

After successfully taking the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord position, the ‘Fantasy Black Rabbit’ did not aggressively expand its influence, sweeping across the world and conquering multiple continents like the Corona Dragon. Instead, it hid itself and established the Heavenly Courtyard, ‘Moon Rabbit Village’.

Many scholars speculate that the ‘Fantasy Black Rabbit’ likely gained its position through illegitimate means and struggled to fully control the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord position, which is why it went into hiding.

Currently, the one responsible for regulating the sun and moon’s movements and dividing the seasons is not the ‘Fantasy Black Rabbit’, but other Fairy Lords with a Glorious Moon aspect. They act on behalf of the Fantasy Black Rabbit to fulfill the duties of the ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord.

Of course, this proxy role must have been tacitly approved by the Fantasy Black Rabbit. If it did not cooperate, the Fairy Lords would find it difficult to channel the power of the ‘Glorious Moon’.

Compared to the ‘Fantasy Black Rabbit’, the Fairy Lords are demonstrably more adept at utilizing the power of the ‘Glorious Moon’. In fact, before the Silvermoon Dragon, the first ‘Glorious Moon’ Star-Lord was a Fairy Lord.

Not long after sitting down, the Moon Rabbit maid brought a menu and asked Hylial what she would like to eat.

“The dishes here are generally light, not too spicy, with only a small selection of meats. We have a rich variety of fruits and ice cream~” she introduced with a hint of liveliness.

“Let me see.” Hylial looked through the menu.

Most of it consisted of pastries, desserts, and drinks, with very few actual main courses.

“How is this ‘Bamboo Flavored Mixed Rice’ made?” Hylial was surprised to find an Oriental-style dish.

“It’s diced radish, diced meat, diced vegetables, and sauce poured over bamboo rice. You can eat it directly with a spoon.” She assumed Hylial wouldn’t know how to use chopsticks.

“I’ll have this then.” This was actually her first time seeing rice as a staple food.

When she first arrived in this world, she thought there was no rice here. Later, she learned from Scholar Hyde that it was only grown in certain regions, and not many people ate it.

“Alright, I’ve noted that down.” The maid nodded, her rabbit ears on her head shaking, making her look particularly cute.

“Would you like some pan-fried fish to go with it? Our fish is quite good,” the rabbit-eared maid suggested.

“Thank you, I’ll have some then.” Hylial nodded, suddenly feeling a sense of anticipation.

“Alright, we’ll go prepare it right away. Oh, and what would you like to drink? If it’s your first time here, I recommend our ‘Clear Wind Moon Dew Juice’.”

“I’ll have that then.” Hylial accepted the suggestion.

“Got it.” The rabbit-eared maid wrote it down, then left with her clipboard for the kitchen.

Once it was quiet again, Hylial observed her surroundings while waiting.

There weren’t many staff in the shop. Including the rabbit-eared maid, there were probably only three employees in total, with two of them in the back, occasionally bringing out a few dishes.

Fortunately, there were also very few student customers here, so no one was in a rush.

“After you enter the Woodland, which organization do you plan to join?” an elf asked her companion.

“The Four Seasons Alliance, of course. It’s the most elf-friendly organization, isn’t it?”

“Don’t join a small organization. You might encounter bad situations, like being used as test subjects.”

“There aren’t many elves on this continent, so there are many who secretly covet elf blood.”

“Many people think that if they integrate elf blood, they can increase their lifespan, which is utter nonsense,” an elf shook her head, sipping from a straw.

“One’s Fate is determined at birth, and so is one’s bloodline. To truly attain longevity, the most straightforward path should be through ‘sublimation’, just as the end of a witch is a sorceress, a lizardman’s pursuit is to transform into a giant dragon, and an elf’s ascension is to become a high-ranking fairy. All of these can grant extremely long lifespans.”

Hylial listened to the discussion among the elves, finding it quite interesting, and suddenly gained some unexpected knowledge.

So that’s how sorceresses came to be? She vaguely remembered her mother being called the ‘Aster in Midsummer Witch,’ but it seemed her mother didn’t follow the path of a witch practitioner.

After a short wait, the rabbit-eared maid brought hot meals and placed a bottle of ice-cold green drink beside Hylial.

Scooping a small amount of rice with a wooden spoon, Hylial gently tucked her hair behind her ear and tasted a small bite. The familiar fragrant and chewy texture brought her joy.

It had been so long since she had eaten rice; she really preferred it to bread and oat porridge every day.

Slowly eating her Bamboo Flavored Mixed Rice, Hylial’s thoughts drifted, recalling many things from her past and present life, until the rabbit-eared maid approached her, bringing her back to reality.

“Hello, a guest from another table asked me to convey a message.” The rabbit-eared maid, holding her clipboard, lightly waived a finger at Hylial as a greeting.

“It’s the table to your front left,” the maid indicated.

Hylial looked up and saw three elf girls sitting there.

The one at the head had beautiful golden wavy hair, a somewhat voluptuous figure, and wore a dress with floral pleats, exuding a mature charm that would likely be the dream wife of many men. Her light pink eyes held a hint of languid allure.

Seeing Hylial look up at her, the elf smiled and waved, showing her goodwill.

“She wants to give you a ‘Golden Osmanthus Flowing Heart Pastry’, which she made herself.” With that, the rabbit-eared maid placed a small, transparent sticky rice cake wrapped in a light yellow string in front of the girl.

[Golden Osmanthus Flowing Heart Pastry] (Quality – Excellent): A sweet pastry made primarily from high-quality golden osmanthus flowers, honey, and glutinous rice flour. It has a pleasant taste and often sells for a high price.

A shimmer appeared in Hylial’s eyes. She touched the pastry, finding everything normal, and realizing there was no malice, she smiled and nodded, accepting the gift.

“Alright, tell her I’m very happy and thank her for the gift.”

“No problem, I’ll convey your message right away.” The rabbit-eared maid skipped over to the other table.

Soon, she returned with a piece of paper on which a line of writing was inscribed.

‘My name is 플로렐라, can you tell me your name~’

After pondering for a moment, Hylial picked up the pen the rabbit-eared maid offered and wrote her name.

‘My name is Hylial, it’s a pleasure to meet you.’

This sensation of passing notes reminded her of her middle school days, which were truly innocent.
