Chapter 151: The Uniqueness of the Morning Star Stage (Please vote at the beginning of the month!)

Within perception range, there were almost no objects or believers.

“According to the few Judges who returned, quite a few cultists of the Demonic God made their move this afternoon, including Black Tuluo, Faceless Ghost, and Scarlet…” Su Chen pondered to himself:

“I wonder how the guy behind them managed to convince them, and if the Heituo Cultists were asked about Meng Qi’s previous report.”

Thinking, he switched back to the Faceless Ghost cultist state. There were still two blurry sensory signals nearby, which should be hidden cultists.

These things could be easily found, but Su Chen wasn’t planning to show up again.

And there was also a rather strong reaction from an area outside, which surprised Su Chen.

“The Faceless Ghost still has something hidden. After finding the remaining two cultists, I’ll call Senior Brother Teng Liang to go there and see if there’s any power of the Faceless Ghost. It would be quite satisfying to directly eliminate the request.”

“What excuse should I make? Just say it’s an intelligence report. Senior Brother Teng Liang won’t ask too many questions anyway.”

Su Chen thought about it. He was getting more and more familiar with Teng Liang and found that this Senior Brother was quite easy to get along with, ruthless, and a man of few words.

Lying in bed, unable to sleep, he decided to go to the gravity training room.

“Thirty times?” Su Chen glanced at the setting number in the gravity training room. “This is Senior Brother Teng Liang’s training standard. Didn’t he forcibly take up a Fifth-tier Profession and couldn’t develop further?”

“I almost forgot, he can still take up special professions.”

With that thought, Su Chen adjusted the setting to fifteen times, the maximum he could currently handle.

He then put the Spirit Realm Instrument aside and began to train.

In the next few days, nothing happened to him. The Tribunal continued its screening, and the remaining two cultists were apprehended within three days.

Anyone staying in the Tribunal would be screened sooner or later. It was clear who was missing, and with a thorough search, they had nowhere to hide.

The Tribunal lifted its lockdown, and a large number of Judges stationed outside finally returned.

Many people still didn’t know what had happened and were bewildered.

Ying Feng was abuzz with discussion, everyone speculating about what exactly had happened inside the Tribunal to cause a lockdown for five or six days.

“Goodness gracious… Judge Wei is dead?” The first thing Ming Lin did upon returning was to find Su Chen’s “new home,” his face grave.

The old place hadn’t been repaired yet, so the Tribunal had assigned him a new residence. Su Chen didn’t care; the layouts of these villas were basically identical anyway.

Ming Lin pressed, “What exactly happened? You were the only Core Seed in the Tribunal at the time, so you must know.”

“When I arrived, the Medical Department was practically a ruin. What the hell would I know?” Su Chen shook his head.

“A troubled time indeed.” Ming Lin sighed repeatedly. “However, you did make a name for yourself this time. I heard you found Meng Qi that very afternoon.”

Su Chen sighed, “He was practically at my doorstep. If Senior Brother Teng Liang hadn’t arrived in time, something might have happened to me too.”

“That’s also true.” Ming Lin thought for a moment, wholeheartedly agreeing. His eyes darted around, then he grinned and added, “I heard that after Wei Yu Fan returned, the Chief summoned him and reprimanded him severely.”

“Xiao Ying is probably involved in Judge Wei’s death and is nowhere to be found.”

Su Chen didn’t offer any opinions on this. Ming Lin, failing to get any juicy gossip, left disappointed.

Su Chen tidied up a bit and left the Tribunal, which had lifted its lockdown, heading to the Translation Department.

He had already made an appointment with Sang Hanhai, who was waiting for him in the lounge of the Experiment Building.

The moment he saw him, Sang Hanhai approached, lowered his voice, and asked solemnly, “I heard something happened to Wei Yinsuo?”

“Yes.” Su Chen thought for a moment, then nodded. “Most likely he’s dead.”

“It’s really true.” Sang Hanhai let out a long sigh. “I heard others say it, but I didn’t quite believe it. It was inside the Tribunal, and he was a Judge.”

Su Chen remained silent. Sang Hanhai’s tone was wistful, “I didn’t like him as a person. He was too opportunistic in his youth, but he was still one of Nanfeng’s pillars.”

“The Demonic God Cult is becoming more and more brazen.”

After his lament, Sang Hanhai said, “You said you wanted to come and learn. I’m almost done with my work here, so I can teach you.”

“Uh…” Su Chen’s eyes flickered. That was to avoid Wei Yinsuo, but now that Wei Yinsuo was gone, what was there to learn?

Seeing his expression, Sang Hanhai snorted, “I knew it, learning is just a pretense. What exactly do you want to do, kid? Speak up.”

“I was wondering if you could help me analyze how to choose a Fourth-tier Profession,” Su Chen said with a chuckle.

Sang Hanhai was quite surprised, “Even with preparation, you’re a bit fast. Both professions have been developed to the mid-stage?”

    “Roughly,” Su Chen replied.

“Ink Jade talent is poor…” Sang Hanhai couldn’t help but sigh, then he glanced at Su Chen. “Tell me, what are your Third-tier Professions?”

“The physique type is the one you recommended last time, and the psionist type is Arcane Weaver,” Su Chen said.

“Both are Third-tier advanced?” Sang Hanhai stared at him suspiciously. “How is it that I heard someone say you were Third-tier dual top-tier?”

“Uh… my teacher wouldn’t let me say,” Su Chen said awkwardly, pushing the blame onto Old Xia.

“Xia Hanshi…” Sang Hanhai snorted coldly, but he was still quite pleased with Su Chen’s attitude, at least he didn’t stubbornly deny it.

He wasn’t surprised that Xia Hanshi had a Third-tier top-tier profession.

“Then I’ll analyze it based on the two professions you mentioned…” Sang Hanhai crossed his legs. “The advanced profession for Arcane Weaver is Arcane Wanderer, which you certainly won’t be satisfied with.”

“Then you can only try a more difficult profession… Arcane Weaver is skilled in manipulating elemental powers with mental abilities.” Sang Hanhai pondered for a moment:

“With similar compatibility, for a Fourth-tier Advanced, it would be Lawbringer. This involves both aspects and isn’t too difficult.”

Su Chen nodded, noting it down. Sang Hanhai continued, “The physique type is simpler. The advancement profession for Swift Wind Thunderbringer is the Fourth-tier Advanced Catastrophe Walker.”

Lawbringer, Catastrophe Walker, Su Chen planned to look them up in the Tribunal when he got back.

After listening to Sang Hanhai, Su Chen asked expectantly, “When I advance to the Fourth-tier, will I be able to see that stone slab?”

“Stone slab?” Sang Hanhai was startled, then laughed, “You’re already looking beyond what you have, still thinking about that?”

Su Chen didn’t shy away, “You spoke so mysteriously back then, it really made me curious.”

Sang Hanhai smiled, not at all surprised by Su Chen’s curiosity.

Su Chen, looking genuinely curious, asked, “We’re all on the same side, so please tell me a bit more.”

Sang Hanhai thought for a moment, “How about this, you come with me to meet someone. He knows more than I do.”

“Who?” Su Chen had a hunch, but still asked.

Sang Hanhai uttered a few words, “My senior brother, Pu Zhenghong.”

“Is there anything I need to pay attention to when meeting your senior brother?” Su Chen followed Sang Hanhai deeper into the Translation Department. The number of staff members coming and going grew scarcer, and he asked.

“No, not really. My senior brother is famously amiable,” Sang Hanhai said, then added, “Only one thing, don’t mention Xia Hanshi.”

“Alright,” Su Chen paused, then nodded helplessly.

He soon saw the intertwined trees of the grove. Passing through the winding path, dappled light fell on the ground, shimmering like broken gold.

Arriving at the wooden house in the Central District, Sang Hanhai knocked on the door. Without waiting for a reply, he led Su Chen inside.

Coming to the door of what looked like a study, he whispered, “Senior Brother, I’ve brought him.”

“Come in,” an aged voice responded from within. Sang Hanhai motioned for him to push the door open, but didn’t follow him in.

Upon entering, Su Chen saw an elderly man with white hair and beard sitting at a desk.

This should be the last man he hadn’t seen in the picture Sang Hanhai showed him earlier.

He’s actually so old… Su Chen muttered to himself. Chong Jingtian looked like a middle-aged man, and Old Xia appeared older in comparison.

But this Pu Zhenghong, looked practically on his last legs.

“Old Pu…” He respectfully called out, noticing the Holy Word Stone in Pu Zhenghong’s hand, he couldn’t help but glance at it, finding it completely empty.

“Sit.” Pu Zhenghong was still engraving something on it, without even lifting his head, he told Su Chen to sit down.

“Do you know what Divine Language is?” Pu Zhenghong asked casually.

“Uh…” Su Chen remembered Sang Hanhai mentioning something about Divine Language, and tentatively said, “The language of the Gods, it seems to be inscribed on the Holy Word Stone.”

“Indeed… Divine Language is difficult.” Pu Zhenghong continued to engrave, but there was still no trace on the Holy Word Stone. “Xia Hanshi sent you.”

Su Chen’s eyelid twitched. Didn’t he say not to mention Xia Hanshi?

Pu Zhenghong held the carving pen, his movements unceasing: “He’s still stubbornly persistent. The previous three saw it and it was useless. They went into the ruins and still couldn’t come out.”

“Although you have the Ink Jade Talent, it’s far from enough to qualify.”

“Qualify? What qualification?” Su Chen asked keenly.

Pu Zhenghong’s movements paused, his white eyebrows twitching, and he said with displeasure, “Is he so lazy now that he doesn’t want to say anything?”

Su Chen gave an awkward smile.

“The stone slab records some of the professional requirements for a Morning Star Tier profession,” Pu Zhenghong huffed. “It’s also the profession of the previous owner of that ruin.”

So that’s how it is, Su Chen suddenly realized, then heard Pu Zhenghong continue:

“Without recognition, entering the ruins is almost certain death.”

“Recognition?” Su Chen caught the key word again. The High Priest also mentioned it. “What does that mean?”

Pu Zhenghong explained, “Professions of this level already possess spirituality. Without being recognized, it’s almost impossible to take up the profession.”

“Without recognition, one cannot take up the profession…” Su Chen was quite surprised.

What did the professional information captured by his panel mean, was it considered recognition?

Or did the professions on the panel have nothing to do with the spiritual nature of professions in the outside world?

Or perhaps, among the unrevealed professional requirements, there was also the requirement of recognition?

This is truly absurd, Su Chen murmured inwardly, then asked, “But can a broken stone slab represent that Morning Star Tier profession?”

“Naturally, it cannot be represented. What’s important is not the stone slab, but the information…” Pu Zhenghong shook his head and emphasized, “Spirituality is omnipresent. To know the professional information on it means to be recognized.”

Su Chen was bewildered, then looked at the panel, and couldn’t help but ask:

“So what are the requirements for recognition? Talent?”

“Talent is just the threshold.” Pu Zhenghong shook his head, stopping his carving. “Who knows how to gain recognition? Maybe it’s luck, or maybe it’s destiny.”

“That’s so mystical.” Su Chen didn’t expect destiny to be brought into it.

After thinking for a moment, Su Chen asked, “Then, do you think I have a chance to gain recognition?”

Hearing this, Pu Zhenghong finally looked up at Su Chen for the first time.

The two stared at each other for a long time. Su Chen, at least, didn’t feel awkward.

What a thick skin… Pu Zhenghong put down the object in his hand and said gently, “Ink Jade Talent truly deserves this confidence, but it’s not enough.”

“Not even enough for the threshold,” he added.

Su Chen understood what he meant. The first requirement for the Great Venerable was the Profound Purple Talent.

According to the Tribunal’s classification, above Ink Jade is Scarlett, and only above Scarlett is Profound Purple.

But then he remembered that the Black Tuluo High Priest, who was parasitic in Wei Yinsuo’s body, once said that the purpose of the Yuandu people was to gain the Great Venerable’s recognition. Did they have people with Profound Purple Talent?

“Morning Star Tier professions already have a unique characteristic. As long as the current wielder is alive, no one else can take up the profession a second time,” Pu Zhenghong continued:

“Being recognized by it only means there’s a chance to take up the profession. Only the chosen ones are absolutely safe, but to be chosen…”

Before he finished speaking, Pu Zhenghong couldn’t help but shake his head, “It’s as hard as ascending to heaven.”

“Recognized, chosen? So complicated…” Su Chen truly didn’t expect this, and there was also the uniqueness.

“It’s not complicated, simply put, it depends on whether it finds you pleasing. It’s said that the chosen ones can also receive professional favor, which is different from those who are recognized.”

Pu Zhenghong delved into the Holy Word Stone in his hand. “Don’t worry, you’ll definitely get to see the Fourth-tier, but it probably won’t do anything.”

You’re a bit biased, aren’t you? Su Chen’s heart stirred, and he asked, “Can the status of a chosen one be replaced?”

“Yes, if they die, the position becomes vacant,” Pu Zhenghong replied casually, continuing, “You have a natural talent for Holy Word Stones, which is extremely rare. Little Sang might think you can directly obtain the information on the stone slab with this.”

“Actually, the key isn’t the information on it, but whether the spirituality recognizes you.”

“However, your talent might be useful for the Divine Language,” Pu Zhenghong said with a smile.

Su Chen listened expressionlessly to a long string of Divine Language theories from him, like a celestial book, going in one ear and out the other, not understanding a single word.

Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore and made an excuse to use the restroom.

“What a pity…” Pu Zhenghong sighed. Su Chen was clearly not interested in Divine Language, and he couldn’t force it.

“With the Ink Jade talent, there’s a chance to become an Eighth-tier Professional. As for gaining recognition…” His eyes flickered, and he shook his head, “There’s no hope.”
