Chapter 13: Molten Rock Forging Method

On his way back, Su Chen kept thinking, “Even with the blood oath, I’m still at a disadvantage with Jiang He.”

“If I could find a way to get out of this, or if I had a backer, things would probably be much simpler… special training…”

“If I expose that I’m already employed… no, there are too many things I can’t explain, and it might cause even more trouble.”

Jiang He moved quickly. When Su Chen arrived at the cafeteria, he found that there was already money in his student ID, 100 gold.

It wasn’t a small amount; in the past, Su Chen would work for ten days to earn a single gold coin.

But it wasn’t a lot either. A single tube of that compressed nutrient solution cost 15 gold.

“This is too expensive… Bai Fengxi is still quite generous…” Su Chen hesitated. This stuff, under high-intensity training, would only keep him from being hungry for a day or two.

“Forget it, it was originally just so I wouldn’t starve.” Su Chen didn’t hesitate. He paid at the counter, took six tubes, tucked them into his embrace, and went straight back to the dorm.

After drinking the nutrient solution, Su Chen first crushed the token Qi Chuan gave him.

Then he immediately started training, pushing himself to exhaustion, then developing his spirit, going all out. He just lay on the bed, not wanting to move a muscle.

    “He really knows, huh?”

In a lavishly decorated room, Qi Chuan looked at the equally shattered card in his hand, a strange smile gracing his face.

“What are you planning to do… are you really going to put him in the special training program?” A deep voice came, and Qi Chuan composed himself, looking at the dignified middle-aged man in front of him. He nodded slightly, “That would be giving him too much credit, he’s just an inferior vagrant.”

“My arrangement that day should have been foolproof. Until I figure out exactly what happened, it’s difficult to make new plans. Since he most likely knows, it’s easiest to just capture him and torture him.”

“He’s in the academy,” the other person emphasized.

“He has to leave the city in ten days,” Qi Chuan smiled.

“Looks like you’ve already thought it through.” The other person slowly nodded, his voice gradually becoming resolute: “Deal with it quickly. Southwind only has one spot each year, and it will be confirmed in half a year. I don’t want any accidents.”

“Don’t worry,” Qi Chuan quickly said.

Three days passed in a flash. Su Chen had long since crushed the token Qi Chuan gave him, but he hadn’t yet heard from the other party.

“I only have four more Strongman loans to pay off…” Su Chen let out a long breath and looked at his panel.

    [Strongman: 6%]

    [Candlelight Training – Mastery: 25%]

The Scholar occupation only had a year left on its age requirement. Su Chen estimated that in a few more days, he would be able to officially take up this special profession.

“It’s less than ten days until I have to leave the city…” Su Chen calculated the days. “What does the victim mean by not caring? Or is it that…”

    Thump! Thump! Thump!

A knock at the door. Su Chen was quite surprised. What a coincidence, speak of the devil?

The person knocking felt a little familiar to Su Chen, their head slightly raised, looking quite presentable.

“Someone looking for me downstairs?” he tentatively asked.

Zhou Zong frowned slightly, emphasizing, “I’m looking for you.”

“You?” Su Chen was surprised, scrutinizing the other person. “Have we met somewhere before?”

Zhou Zong said plainly, “I’ve seen your file. An inferior vagrant who fortunately got into Jiang He’s bed to enter Southwind Academy.”

“Do you think Jiang He’s novelty with you will last long?”

“Oh, I remember now, you know Bai Fengxi, right?” Su Chen finally remembered.

It seemed he really wasn’t Qi Chuan’s man. What was this guy here for?

Zhou Zong said calmly, “Aren’t you going to invite me in for a seat?”

“My room’s a mess. If you have something to say, just say it here.” Su Chen shook his head.

Zhou Zong was displeased. “I’m here to give you an opportunity.”

“What opportunity?” Su Chen looked at him.

“A real opportunity to turn things around,” Zhou Zong smiled. “As long as you tell me everything about Bai Fengxi, every single detail…”

    Bang!

The door slammed shut, freezing Zhou Zong’s smile. He could faintly hear the other person’s voice from inside—”…where did this fool come from…”

Zhou Zong’s forehead pulsed with visible veins, his face

    dark.

“Someone is plotting against Bai Fengxi?” Su Chen muttered. “Trying to woo her, or trying to scheme against her?” “Forget it, I’ll tell her when I see her.”

Su Chen didn’t take it too seriously. He continued to ponder the victim’s situation while also continuing to train.

In the mid-afternoon, the door was knocked on again, but this time it was Jiang He.

“Isn’t this a male dorm?” Su Chen welcomed her in. She was still in her sexy teacher outfit.

“Who wouldn’t welcome me here?” Jiang He retorted, glancing around the room. She casually sat on the bed, crossing her legs. “Has Qi Chuan looked for you yet?”

“Not yet.” Su Chen shook his head.

“It’s been three days already,” Jiang He looked at Su Chen suspiciously.

“The token was crushed a long time ago.” Su Chen found the card wrapped in a tissue.

“Wind-whisper paper…” Jiang He nodded, but then looked puzzled. “Since that’s the case, why hasn’t he come yet? Is he delayed by something?”

“I don’t know.” Su Chen shook his head, but then held out his hand. “The thing I want.”

Jiang He hesitated for a moment, then pulled out a thin book from her small bag and handed it to Su Chen. “F-rank training method, it’s enough for you.”

The title [Molten Rock Forging Method] on the cover made Su Chen’s heart skip a beat.

Training methods are ranked from low to high, with F and E being the standard. Although it’s the lowest rank, it is indeed used by professionals.

[Candlelight Training], for example, isn’t even ranked.

“Wait for him to come find you.” Jiang He was about to leave when Su Chen stopped her, saying, “Top up my account again.”

He spoke with righteous indignation, and Jiang He snapped, “Are you addicted to living off me now? I’ll recharge another 100. If you run out of money, figure it out yourself.”

“Or, beg me?” Jiang He suddenly smiled alluringly.

    “Please,” Su Chen said expressionlessly.

Jiang He’s face froze slightly, and she said coldly, “Boring.”

She did not return to the office but, facing the gazes of passersby, left the academy and headed deeper into the city.

“Father…” Jiang He, with incomprehension, asked the white-haired old man in front of her, “Qi Chuan hasn’t looked for Su Chen since then. What do you think is going on?”

The old man’s face was covered with wrinkles, but he was full of vigor, and his eyes flickered. “He hasn’t looked for him?”

After a brief silence, he couldn’t help but praise, “As expected of my good son-in-law, we wanted to bait him, yet he baited us instead.”

“What do you mean?” Jiang He was puzzled.

“In Qi Chuan’s eyes, what kind of person is Su Chen?” the old man asked in return.

Jiang He didn’t react for a moment, but the old man slowly explained, “An inferior vagrant, a lucky fellow who managed to get into his wife’s good graces, perhaps a little clever, nothing more.”

“For such a person, how could he put him on a special training list if he wanted to know something from his mouth? As long as he’s certain the person has information, taking action is the simplest and most direct method.”

“Su Chen has to leave the city in ten days.”

Jiang He pondered for a while, then realized, her face turning cold. “He had it all planned out. The previous contact was just a test.”

“Then… then what I gave Su Chen, wasn’t it given to him for nothing?”

The old man sighed, “Don’t fret over those small things. The troublesome part now is Su Chen leaving the city, and we can’t stop him. Your blood oath contract hasn’t been broken yet. In ten days, you need to quickly advance to Arcane Apprentice.”

Jiang He’s face turned pale, but she said, “But Qi Chuan doesn’t know Su Chen is already a Strongman.”

The old man shook his head, “Just a first-rank Strongman. Knowing Qi Chuan’s character, he’ll probably have multiple plans.”

He paused, then added, “However, this might also be an opportunity.”

In the dorm, Su Chen was pondering the [Molten Rock Forging Method].

This training method was not profound; it simply involved using a special technique to make the blood flow rapidly, thereby stimulating the internal body and achieving the effect of body forging.
