Chapter 12: The Charm of a Pretty Boy

“Troublesome…” Su Chen secretly shook his head, watching Qi Chuan disappear.

He asked a few people for directions to the mysticism classroom, only to be met with surprised looks, and even a few people went the same way.

When Su Chen arrived, he understood why those people had looked so surprised.

The classroom was a large lecture hall, already densely packed with people, and even standing room was taken. Jiang He was well-known, if not universally, at Southwind Academy.

“There are too many people…” Su Chen was very surprised, 95% of them were “college boys,” and only standing room was left.

Southwind Academy offered many subjects, mainly for miscellaneous professions.

Mysticism sounded impressive, but it was actually just theoretical knowledge, popularizing some professions or world secrets, half-baked at best.

The reason there were so many people was because of Jiang He’s personal charm.

Before the class started, the entire classroom was filled with a low humming sound.

“I heard Teacher Jiang He has a new love… sigh, why isn’t it me?”

“It must be an upperclassman, is it Zhang Hengyu? I heard he’s already employed.”

“This time it seems different. Teacher Jiang personally handled the enrollment for that guy, seems like she wants to raise him…”

“Damn it, where did that lucky boy come from? I really want Teacher Jiang He to whip me hard…”

Su Chen was speechless, how did the news spread so fast? Do these guys have nothing to do all day?

The sound suddenly became louder, then quickly quieted down. Only clicking sounds were heard, and Jiang He arrived.

Gasps of awe came from all around.

Jiang He had changed her outfit, wearing a purple sleeveless sweater that clung to her skin, wrapped around her neck, and high heels.

Her gaze swept around, met Su Chen’s eyes, and then moved away as if nothing had happened.

Although it was secretly rumored that the teacher Jiang He was dissolute and flirtatious, in class, she spoke little, instead exuding a cold demeanor. This contrast and identity created her unparalleled charm.

“…Today we’re talking about Day Mist and Night Mist…” Her voice was clear, and various images appeared on the screen behind her.

Countless fervent gazes swept back and forth across the teacher’s body, but Su Chen listened very intently.

“…Day Mist and Night Mist are divided at six o’clock, each occupying twelve hours. During Day Mist, the danger in the wilderness will be greatly reduced. In other words, during Night Mist, it will increase…”

“…But exploring ruins or conducting patrols cannot only be twelve hours. How to reasonably avoid Night Mist is an eternal research topic…”

“Morning Star Stone… the building material for city walls, can block the invasion of mist within a certain area, and monsters in the mist will also keep faraway…”

These theoretical common senses were exactly what Su Chen needed.

Elsewhere, Zhou Zong took out a bag of gold coins and received a paper document from the middle-aged man in front of him.

“Remember to burn it after you read it…” the other party instructed, then hurried away.

Zhou Zong’s gaze fell on the paper in front of him, scanning it up and down, and he couldn’t help but be surprised, “He’s actually a vagrant, but how did he get to know Bai Fengxi?”

“Hmm, a friend’s daughter… both parents are dead, I think I understand, but it still needs to be verified…”

After Jiang He’s class was over, everyone lingered, watching the teacher walk out before packing up and leaving.

Su Chen quietly followed and, under the astonished gazes of some, entered Jiang He’s exclusive office, which was empty except for her.

“Qi Chuan came to see me,” Su Chen said directly.

Jiang He’s expression shifted slightly. “He’s quick to act, and he’s no longer discreet.”

“He’s very deep, unreadable. He probably already suspects you’re not simple. You didn’t give anything away, did you?”

Unreadable? Su Chen remembered the tormented look on the victim’s face and simply replied, “It was alright, I fooled him.” “He also tried to tempt me with a key cultivation spot.”

“Key cultivation spot?” Jiang He immediately scoffed, “He really dares to promise that. It’s hard enough for me to intervene, let alone for him…”

At this point, Jiang He suddenly stopped, as if thinking of something.

Then, she said excitedly, “Do me a favor.”

“No,” Su Chen immediately shook his head. “I’m not interested in interfering with your affairs.”

Jiang He added, “It’ll be good for you. You agree to him, let him get you into the key cultivation list, and the academy will pour in a lot of resources.”

“Hmm…” Su Chen paused slightly. The importance of resources was self-evident.

He had almost no way to obtain methods for developing the [Strongman] body forging technique, consumables, or even information about subsequent profession advancements.

    However, there were risks.

But Qi Chuan was clearly eyeing him, and he currently had no way to escape.

The reason he refused so readily just now was to hear Jiang He’s offer.

“What’s the purpose?” Su Chen asked.

Jiang He explained, “I want to see who’s behind him. The person who modified your data has been found, but he just did it for money. If he really gets you into the key cultivation list, it won’t be as simple as just paying money.”

“Moreover, just to find out about what happened that night, the price he paid was a bit high. He’ll probably make you do other things.”

It’s fishing and undercover work, Su Chen remained calm, “What’s your price?”

“Didn’t you get in…” Jiang He’s words were interrupted by Su Chen. “That’s the result, it’s not a benefit you’re giving me. I’m surviving in the cracks and need more.”

“What do you want?” Jiang He was intrigued.

“The second-tier career advancement method for Strongman,” Su Chen quoted.

“I don’t know,” Jiang He shook her head, calmly saying, “I can’t give it to you. Let’s try something else.”

She looked smug, and Su Chen’s face was expressionless.

In fact, after coming out of the villa, he had already found it difficult to gain an advantage over Jiang He, which was why he had tried everything possible at the time to have a means to control her.

The Blood Oath Contract was something that didn’t need to be brought up unless they were going to fall out.

Su Chen’s expression seemed a little ugly, and he said in a deep voice, “A body tempering method for a professional…”

Jiang He looked at his helpless appearance, feeling pleased. “That’s fine.”

Su Chen breathed a sigh of relief. The forging method was actually his main goal. Information about the second-tier profession wasn’t useful now. He only mentioned it to create the impression that he was reluctantly making a concession.

The two agreed on the terms, but Su Chen didn’t leave. He straightened his chest and said, “There’s one more thing, I have no money.”

He emphasized, “I don’t even have money for food.”

“You’re really being kept,” Jiang He said casually and indifferently, “Got it, I’ll put some money in your account.”

Su Chen got the result he wanted and left contentedly.

As soon as he walked out, he was startled to find the corridor outside the office packed with people, three deep, clearly, someone had called their friends to come and see the “pretty boy’s” charm.

“Damn, it was him! He was standing next to me in class, pretending to be serious.”

“Damn it, my charisma is no weaker than his!”

    “…”

The envious, jealous, and hateful gazes made Su Chen extremely uncomfortable, and he left with great reluctance.
