The other side.

    Examination room.

    By the stream.

A beautiful figure descended from the sky and landed on the large rock where Shen Ye once stayed.

    “It’s here.”

The girl looked into the depths of the stream and beckoned.

    The water parted.

The wooden dummy floated up from the bottom of the water.

“Hehe, it’s a substitute. Brother Shen Ye is playing tricks.”

The girl chuckled, waved her hand, and the wooden dummy sank back down.

    The next second.

    The girl’s smile disappeared.

Across the stream, on another large rock, stood another girl.

    Zhao Yibing.

She tilted her head and observed the girl with a curious expression, then spoke:

“You were the one hiding on the side during the fight at the hotel, weren’t you?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” the girl said, smiling sweetly.

Zhao Yibing made a summoning gesture with her hand.

A boy floated up from under the water and lay prostrate at her feet.

“Oh gods, I could have clearly ambushed this —”

Zhao Yibing stepped on the boy’s head, preventing him from saying anything further.

    “Conspiracy!”

Zhao Yibing suddenly uttered two words, her expression becoming meaningful: “I smell the scent of conspiracy, it envelops you, ready to take something at any moment.”

“That’s none of your business,” the girl said.

“Yes,” Zhao Yibing smiled charmingly and said, “I am very happy to observe human slaughter and conquests, and I never intervene — I only reap the rewards afterwards.”

“I know who you are, but I don’t bother with you, and you shouldn’t bother with my business,” the girl said.

Zhao Yibing’s smile grew wider, and her gaze turned to the void beside the girl.

“One, two, three… Tsk tsk, a total of fifteen candidates. Did you kill all these people for him?” Zhao Yibing asked.

“Don’t pry. You just need to remember one thing: never provoke Shen Ye, understand?” The girl narrowed her eyes and said in a warning tone.

    Zhao Yibing smiled silently.

As a deity, to be so offended, she was surprisingly composed!

    Just then.

A series of whistling sounds came from the sky.

The girl frowned, stepped back, and her figure suddenly vanished.

Only Zhao Yibing remained alone by the stream, her expression lost in thought.

    “Interesting…”

    She murmured.

    Her foot lifted.

The boy cautiously said, “Great being, if it was her last time, did we just let her go?”

    “You don’t understand.”

Zhao Yibing pondered as she slowly said:

“In my world, every day I observe and evaluate various conspiracies — to gain power, conspiracies are constantly happening, and I also enjoy my subordinates’ schemes; it’s a beneficial pastime.”

The boy opened his mouth, then closed it again, seemingly neither understanding nor daring to ask further.

Zhao Yibing, however, was quite interested and continued the conversation in a tone as if discussing the weather:

“I can sense… someone is using Shen Ye as bait to lure her in.”

“So what do we do?” the boy asked.

“Let’s observe for a while and see how things unfold — humans will tell us many things through slaughter. These are often highly confidential intelligence that will help me conquer this world.”

Zhao Yibing walked a few steps with her hands behind her back, then suddenly looked towards the dense forest.

    The boy rushed out.

A few seconds later, a deafening roar echoed.

    The sound abruptly ceased.

The dense forest returned to silence.

The boy dragged a snow-white fox back to the stream.

Zhao Yibing opened her mouth and inhaled.

A phantom rose from the fox’s corpse and was instantly sucked into her mouth.

“Hmm… a rare beast soul that has lived for many years, quite good, quite good.”

Zhao Yibing stuck out her pink tongue and licked the corner of her lips, then raised her hand –

Dense runes emitting black light appeared on her hand.

“Still far from enough… I need more souls…”

“Descending into your world has consumed too much of my power.”

She flashed and disappeared from the stream.

    At the same time.

In a cave on the floating island.

A white-haired old man opened his eyes.

“Someone killed fifteen candidates who were tracking Shen Ye in one go, scaring everyone away from continuing the pursuit…”

    “Who could it be?”

“Did the Shen family not abandon him?”

The old man pondered for a few breaths, then slowly stood up and walked out of the cave step by step.

He stood on the grass outside and made a call.

    “Hello, young master.”

“Something unexpected happened. The other side seems to have a master protecting Shen Ye.”

    “…Yes, it’s become very troublesome.”

“If young master truly wants Shen Ye’s head, I’m afraid this old servant will have to act personally.”

He waited for a few breaths.

On the phone, the young master of that prominent family seemed to be saying something.

    The old man listened quietly.

However, the sound of his speaking had already startled the monsters ambushing in the forest.

A five-meter long, several-ton Earth Bear slowly approached.

The old man, however, seemed oblivious, a smile on his face as he said warmly:

“Then this old servant will act personally.”

“Don’t worry, if those people from the Shen family dare to block this old servant, I will kill them all.”

“Even people from the Luo family, when they see this old servant, would never dare utter a single word of defiance.”

“Young Master, wait for my news.”

“I will go and bring Shen Ye’s head back to you as your birthday gift.”

    The call ended.

The old man carefully put his phone back in his pocket.

In front of him, the Earth Bear had already stood upright, raising a giant paw high.

The old man still ignored it, muttering to himself:

“Killing someone for the young master secretly, the family head shouldn’t criticize too much, right?”

The giant palm slammed down, bringing with it a strong gust of wind.

    Boom!!!

The palm struck the old man’s shoulder.

    The ground even sank.

The old man stood motionless, without even a scratch.

    “Good.”

He uttered with a benevolent face.

The Earth Bear looked at him, and after a moment, silently sat down and didn’t move.

The old man then walked slowly, mumbling complaints as he headed towards the stream:

“It’s such a headache, having to slowly search for that kid’s tracks.”

“But this is how our family’s style is displayed—”

“Those hidden fellows, no matter which family you belong to, if you discover my tracks, hurry up and escape.”

“Who dares to help Shen Ye…”

“Then all of them shall die by my hand.”

    After a while.

He disappeared from this mountain area.

    In front of the cave.

    Thump.

    A dull explosion sounded.

The Earth Bear’s body was torn in half by an invisible force, falling bloody to the ground.

    Nightmare World.

    Secret passage.

A prompt suddenly appeared on the life support equipment:

    “Physical repair complete.”

“This life form still has various magical invasions, which this equipment cannot handle.”

    “Please arrange for further consultation.”

    Prince Norton’s eyelids twitched.

Shen Ye packed up the equipment, then released a “door” at the end of the secret passage, took out a blanket to wrap the prince, and helped him lean against the wall.

    “I… didn’t die?”

Prince Norton opened his eyes, asking blankly.

Deep scars still remained on his body, running from his shoulder through his entire chest, all the way to his pelvis.

Even after his body was repaired, such terrifying scars remained, indicating how severe his previous injuries were.

“You didn’t die, we succeeded in our gamble — but you still have some curses and spells on you that haven’t been completely cleared yet,” Shen Ye said.

Prince Norton felt the scars on his body, then silently sensed for a few breaths, and suddenly flipped his hand, taking out a pendant and putting it around his neck.

A faint golden light enveloped him for several seconds before slowly dissipating.

“I’m fine now, Paige, you saved me.”

    Prince Norton said gratefully.

Shen Ye made a shushing gesture, lowering his voice: “Your Highness, we are currently hiding in the secret passage of the Undead position, no one else can find this place — how are you doing now?”

    Prince Norton looked around.

    A废棄d secret passage.

    Collapses everywhere.

The exit ahead was completely blocked.

Although it was dangerous, staying here was better than facing that group of Undead Assassins.

No one would care about a place like this.

—Who would have thought that he wasn’t in the Human Race’s territory, but instead hiding in a废棄d secret passage of the Undead’s territory?

    Norton’s face showed approval.

This boy, who had survived a great calamity, had lived on the battlefield until now not just by luck—

    He was a smart one!

“Still a bit weak,” Norton said.

“Your Highness, this place isn’t very safe and could collapse again at any time. We’d best move somewhere else,” Shen Ye said.

Norton nodded, then suddenly coughed up another mouthful of blood.

Shen Ye was startled, but saw the other party wave his hand and say, “It’s nothing, it’s just stagnant blood in my body. It feels much better after spitting it out.”

Prince Norton took out a blue glowing hexahedron and said:

“Saint Paige, please choose a place, and we will teleport there immediately.”

“Huh? Me? Why?” Shen Ye asked in surprise.

“There’s a traitor by my side — I suspect my movements are being leaked, and you saved me, so you certainly can’t be the traitor!” Prince Norton said.

    Shen Ye looked closely.

He saw that on each face of the hexahedron, a scene was displayed:

Dense forest stream, floating boat on the sea, abandoned farm, underground dark palace, top of a high mountain, depths of a snowy valley, a total of six scenes.

In each scene, there was a hidden safe house.

These were the prince’s resting and refuge places.

    Which one to choose?

Actually, the most important thing was that he wasn’t a traitor.

    Any choice would be fine!

Shen Ye was about to choose the snowy valley when his heart suddenly stirred, and his gaze fell upon the dense forest stream again.

    It’s so similar…

This scene had a similar landscape to the floating island where he was taking his exam.

As the saying goes, timing, location, and human harmony.

Perhaps this could be considered a favorable location?

“I choose this one, Your Highness.”

Shen Ye pointed to the dense forest stream.

Norton narrowed his eyes and slowly said:

“Actually, these safe houses are not too far from the battlefield. They were hidden places temporarily built for me by my subordinates, and I’ve hardly ever been there. Do you have any basis for your choice? You don’t need to say too much, just mention a few important points.”

“I just picked randomly,” Shen Ye said casually.

    Norton stared at him.

“I picked it randomly,” Shen Ye shrugged, omitting the expletive.

“Alright, that way I don’t have to think too much — let’s go there then,” Norton sighed.

He chanted a spell and pointed his finger at the hexagon.

    Instantly.

    Ripples appeared in the void.

The two disappeared from where they stood.
