Chapter 47

    Madame Faran’s Arrangements

A gentle breeze blew, dispelling the intense heat of the Blazing Sun that filled the flower fields, bringing a touch of coolness. The scattered Blazing Sun power did not disappear but gathered on the countless petals, radiating a shimmering glow under the sunlight.

These petals danced and spun, forming a swirling vortex that continuously converged in the air. They pressed tightly against each other, compressing and finally solidifying, weaving into exquisite bracelets of pale golden petals.

This delicate bracelet slowly drifted down from the air, finally suspending silently in front of Hylial, emitting a faint warmth and glow.

[Blazing Sun Petal Bracelet] (Tier 2 – Blazing Sun): Formed by condensing, compressing, and arranging petals with ‘Blazing Sun’ attributes, it creates a natural imprinted pattern. The wearer can dispel cold, restore physical strength, and feel energetic. (Resists the erosive effects of ‘Sleepy Winter’, ‘Nightmare’, and ‘Mist Shadow’; accelerates physical recovery and maintains warmth.)

“Consider it my first gift to you, how about it?”

A faint golden glow seemed to flow in her pale blue eyes, stabilizing the power of the attributes on the bracelet before her.

“Thank you, Madame Faran.” The girl gently placed the potted plant she was holding to her side and bowed in thanks.

Then, she freed one hand, and the golden petal bracelet lightly floated towards her, sliding onto her fair wrist.

As the bracelet settled, a faint warmth instantly filled her whole body. The previous feeling of heat from being in the sea of flowers disappeared, no longer overwhelming.

The noblewoman showed a satisfied expression, nodding slightly as acknowledged Hylial, then walked past the girl, holding her parasol.

    “Come with me.”

Hylial followed behind her, as if in a dream. The golden glow of the flower sea seemed like a celestial world, until they slowly walked out of the sunflower field and into the cool and comfortable mansion, where she gradually came back to her senses.

Arriving at another quiet room, Madame Faran asked Hylial to place the potted plant, still covered by the glass dome, on a table.

“Just put it there; you must be tired of holding it.” By now, she had placed her parasol by the door, and her elegantly coiffed golden hair came into the girl’s view.

    “Yes.”

Shortly after she put down the potted plant, the noblewoman lightly raised a finger, and the covering black cloth gently floated up, then slowly settled on a nearby shelf.

Inside the glass dome, the quietly blooming pale green Swan Orchid appeared before them.

Raising her hand again, the glass dome also slowly rose and was placed beside the table. At this point, the unique fragrance of the ‘Swan Orchid’ slowly diffused, refreshing the entire room.

Gazing at the blooming ‘Swan Orchid’, Madame Faran’s eyes showed a faint golden glow. She seemed to possess another method of observation, capable of discerning the condition of the plant before her.

“Excellent, one might even say perfect, especially for you who haven’t yet stepped into Tier 1.” She lightly fanned herself with a folding fan, allowing the fragrance brewing within the Swan Orchid’s stamen to spread throughout the room, dispelling the heat of the Blazing Sun.

“Such an environment is indeed what I need.” The noblewoman blinked, smiling at the girl.

“Sit down; it seems we’ll have a good talk today.”

The two sat opposite each other, and the noblewoman lightly clapped her hands again. The young maid appeared.

“Lining, please prepare ‘Snow Orchid Tea’ for me and Lia.” she instructed.

“Yes, Madame.” The maid curtsied slightly, then left to prepare.

While they waited, Madame Faran observed the girl, a look of interest in her eyes.

“I’ve heard Marilyn mention your situation, and Scholar Hyde has also informed me by letter.”

“Although I rarely socialize in Burntstone City, I can always easily learn about many things happening here.”

“Breathing Method Tier 3, Dew Prayer Method Tier 3. Your progress speed exceeds many people’s imagination.” As she spoke, the maid entered the room with tea, placing two cups of white, flower-infused tea in front of them.

“Have some. Snow Orchid Tea has a cool, refreshing taste, perfect for dispelling the afternoon heat.” Madame Faran picked up her teacup.

Hylial also obediently picked up her cup and took a small sip.

The taste was slightly cool and sweetly refreshing, followed by a mellow and pleasant aftertaste. It seemed to have filtered milk and special petals added, making the tea exceptionally delightful.

Afterward, Hylial put down her teacup and explained her purpose to Madame Faran.

“Regarding the advanced paths and knowledge of a Gardener, I can teach you everything I know.” Madame Faran agreed very easily.

“However, a Gardener is a special profession, and knowledge doesn’t play a big role. In fact, Scholar Hyde’s understanding of gardening knowledge is no less than mine; he has a rich collection of books.”

“However, that doesn’t mean he can become an excellent Gardener.”

“The flowers and plants in the world are strange and varied, with different temperaments. Their environment, experiences, and seasons are all different. With only the rigid knowledge from books, you can only become a qualified florist.”

“Therefore, whether one has keen insight, meticulousness and patience, and the nurturing of time are the factors that determine whether a Gardener is outstanding.”

“I’m very glad to see such an excellent junior in you.” She took another small sip of tea, then set down her cup.

“If you are willing, you can study Gardener-related knowledge with me. However, as tuition, you will also need to help me manage the flower fields and handle some simple tasks.”

“Occasionally, when I go on a long trip, I will need you to live here. Although Lining is a very useful maid, her accomplishments in gardening are rather average.”

“I wonder if you are willing?”

Hylial thought for a moment and found nothing amiss, even sensing the kindness and admiration radiating from the other party. So, she nodded in agreement.

“Very good, it seems my quiet mansion will become lively again.” She smiled slightly.

“Come with me, I’ll first familiarize you with the environment, and then tell you what you need to do daily.”

So, she led Hylial out of the room again, navigating the complex and spacious mansion.

“First regarding watering the flower field, Lining waters it daily, but she’s not good at gardening. So, you’ll need to come once a week to check the flower field’s condition, make subtle adjustments for each sunflower, add water, or postpone watering.”

“Secondly, some sunflowers in the flower field need regular pruning to remove excess and poorly developed branches and leaves. Since you can cultivate the Swan Orchid so well, you should easily spot those unhealthy and superfluous parts.”

After listening, Hylial continued to nod slightly, indicating that she understood.

“Finally, you’ll be receiving some visitors on my behalf.”

“Because I’m not home every day, and I’m reluctant to interact with some guests, you can handle any trivial requests as you see fit. If you don’t understand something, just ask Lining; she knows my usual way of doing things.”

“This…” Hylial hesitated. Could she really handle the complex affairs of those visitors?

“Don’t worry, you’ll come into contact with similar matters sooner or later,” Madame Faran lightly fanned herself.

“Oh, by the way, later have Lining measure you. I’ll find a suitable tailor to make you a few sets of clothes.”

“Although this simple white dress suits your temperament very well, here, I prefer the vibrant tender yellow and brilliant golden colors.”

Thus, Hylial’s schedule for the next period was arranged. She also had a premonition that she would encounter much knowledge and many circles she had never known before at Madame Faran’s place.
