Chapter 49: Early Rotation

“Another ten portions of black flame potion are here; even if there isn’t anything better, the Revitalization Potion will do.”

“It will definitely support me in raising both the Body Tempering Exercise and the Purgatory Fire Meditation Method to Master level, and my profession progress will also improve significantly.”

Su Chen returned to his room, silently calculating. With this, only one more Master-level training method remained for his promotion to Gale Hunter.

The initiation and development of a conventional tier-one profession weren’t difficult; one could achieve the requirements just by spending enough time.

However, the promotion requirements for a tier-two profession were difficult, demanding resources, time, talent, and strength, all of which were indispensable.

    Thump! Thump! Thump!

“Old Sun is as quick as ever…”

Hearing the knock on the door, Su Chen thought it was Fatty Sun delivering the potion.

However, when he opened the door, he found Yuan Chenyang standing outside with a gloomy expression.

“Teacher?” Su Chen was startled and quickly invited him in.

After closing the door, Yuan Chenyang began to curse, “Damn bastard, old fox… No wonder Zhou Xian said Guiding could only shut them up.”

After cursing several times, he stopped, and Su Chen asked suspiciously, “Are you talking about the City Lord? Did he make you angry?”

Su Chen immediately promised: “Don’t worry, when I have the ability in the future, I’ll get even for you.”

Yuan Chenyang didn’t take Su Chen’s words to heart, but then he scanned Su Chen up and down, as if he suddenly thought of something, and his eyes narrowed:

“You seem to be quite good at seducing women. You’ve met his daughter, right? Do you have a chance?”

“Huh?” Su Chen was slightly stunned and stammered, “Seduction? I don’t mind, but I’m afraid Old Bai would be sad.”

“Get lost.” Yuan Chenyang simply vented his frustration and quickly moved on. “I’m going to be rotated early to the ruins.”

Su Chen was surprised, “Didn’t Guiding prove that your investigation wasn’t groundless?”

Zhang Hongbo and Yuan Chenyang were not purely superior and subordinate; in many cases, they were more like colleagues, and the City Lord couldn’t just do whatever he wanted.

Yuan Chenyang sighed: “The council’s decision, Ying Feng’s people also agreed, I have no choice.”

“But it’s not without benefits.” Yuan Chenyang changed his tone. “I can just use the communication device at the ruins to contact my teacher.”

“He… won’t be a cultist of the Mysterious God Cult too, will he?” Su Chen had a sudden thought.

“Unlikely.” Yuan Chenyang didn’t hesitate, sneering, “That old fox transferred me not to stop the investigation, but to take control of it himself.”

“The discovery of Guiding has confirmed that Southwind City is not peaceful. I made a big show of it, but found nothing on the surface, which has helped him rule out a wrong direction.”

“I suspect that old bastard came back a long time ago, waited until he was sure I had no findings, and then made his move.”

Su Chen, upon hearing this, echoed repeatedly: “Truly treacherous…”

“I’m leaving tomorrow. The Supervision Department will be temporarily managed by him.”

Su Chen then realized that Old Yuan was here to say goodbye, and asked, “What about me then?”

“What about what?” Yuan Chenyang asked strangely, “You just stay here obediently. I’m just being transferred out, not never coming back. Who could possibly do anything to you?”

“What about Zhou Xian?” Su Chen hesitated, “How about I go with you?”

“Zhang Hongbo will keep a closer eye on Zhou Xian than I would.” Yuan Chenyang didn’t mind. “The ruins are not a safe place; they might be even more dangerous than Southwind. You can’t go.”

“Is Zhang Hongbo truly trustworthy?” Su Chen was still a bit uneasy.

“He…” Yuan Chenyang’s expression changed, and he stated with certainty, “He’s definitely not a cultist of the mysterious god.”

“If anything happens, go find Sun Tai. I’ve already instructed him.”

Old Yuan was decisive and went to prepare after saying goodbye.

…Meanwhile, in the center of the city, in front of a villa, Zhang Yunqing opened the door and looked at the white-haired man, saying, “Senior Brother Yang.”

She then turned to look at the woman beside him.

Yang Yan briefly introduced, “Gu Bing, a third-rank judge.”

After they greeted each other, Zhang Yunqing led them into the living room, took two cups, and poured tea. “You two are a bit late.”

“There was an issue with the air route, which caused some delay,” Yang Yan said vaguely, then got straight to the point: “How are things in Southwind City?”

“There’s a problem, a big problem.” Zhang Yunqing’s face was serious. “The density of Mysterious God Cultists has exceeded the alert level, and coupled with some recent events, it’s pretty clear they’re planning something big.”

“Yuan Chenyang found an empty shell of a Guiding.” Yang Yan said calmly.

“What?” Zhang Yunqing’s expression suddenly changed, then she realized: “No wonder he’s making such a commotion.”

“However, your father wants to transfer him to garrison the ruins, and we have agreed,” Yang Yan added.

“Transferred away…” Zhang Yunqing pondered for a moment, “You want to fish, and who else has arrived?”

Yang Yan remained silent, and Zhang Yunqing’s tone became colder: “As a judge, I have the right to know.”

Yang Yan sighed helplessly, “You wouldn’t want to know. It’s the Sixth Judge.”

“The Sixth Judge!?” Zhang Yunqing’s face lost color, and her voice became urgent, “Ying Feng, how could Ying Feng let him… come?”

“Are they going to destroy Southwind City?”

“Watch your words!” Yang Yan reprimanded, “The Sixth Judge is here to deal with the Cult of the Mysterious God.”

Zhang Yunqing’s expression remained grim, “My father doesn’t know it’s the Sixth Judge, does he?”

Yang Yan nodded, “He only knows that a judge is coming.”

Zhang Yunqing had an “I knew it” expression, “If he knew it was the Sixth Judge, he definitely wouldn’t have any idea of fishing.”

Gu Bing, beside her, sighed, seemingly intending to offer some comfort.

But Yang Yan’s expression moved, and he suddenly looked towards the staircase. At some point, Zhang Hengyu was standing there, seemingly at a loss.

“This is your younger brother, right?” Yang Yan’s expression was calm.

    “Mm.” Zhang Yunqing was distracted.

“Crimson Gold level physique talent, he’s a good seedling. Southwind City hasn’t had a Crimson Gold level in a while,” Yang Yan praised as he stood up. “By my calculations, he could leave with us and save some time.”

Zhang Hengyu pursed his lips, thinking of Su Chen.

“No need.” Zhang Yunqing suddenly spoke, her tone indifferent: “Just follow the usual procedure.”

Yang Yan seemed to know what she was thinking, shrugged, and left.

The door closed, Zhang Yunqing looked somewhat tired, and Zhang Hengyu couldn’t help but ask, “Sister, is it because of that Sixth Judge?”

    “You heard?” Zhang Yunqing frowned.

He quickly explained, “Just a name. Isn’t the judge an important pillar of Ying Feng? Why are you so worried?”

“Alas…” Zhang Yunqing sighed, seeing his uneasy look, “The Sixth Judge is different. He… is abusive, reckless, and bloodthirsty. Sometimes, the damage caused by eradicating the Cult of the Mysterious God is even greater than what the cult itself causes.”

“This…” Zhang Hengyu was surprised. In the education he received since childhood, the Tribunal was a sacred place. How could there be such a judge?

“Oh, right.” Zhang Yunqing suddenly remembered, “He’s also a vagrant.”
