Chapter Index

“Today’s stage play ends here.” A voice rang out from behind the curtain, and a crescent moon appeared in mid-air, with two figures silently emerging beneath it.

“Moon Rabbit Baron, the Hell Messenger?!” Jasmine and the two white-robed bishops exclaimed in surprise. Appearing above the stage were none other than the Moon Rabbit Baron, who had been missing for over half a month, and the perfect experimental little girl.

“My beautiful lady, it is an honor to see you again. Your beauty is like the moon in the night sky, so unforgettable.” The Moon Rabbit Baron gallantly took off his top hat, his gaze falling on Segris, his voice tinged with a hint of displeasure: “Segris, tonight’s stage play ends here. You have already seen the person you wanted to see. It’s time to fulfill your promise, isn’t it?”

“My stage play will never end. Without it, what meaning does my life have?” Segris flashed a wide smile, not even looking at the Moon Rabbit Baron. The latter’s aura instantly turned incredibly cold, and a powerful surge of pressure erupted, bearing down heavily on Segris.

However, it was futile. This was Segris’s territory. The Moon Rabbit Baron’s aura was like a gentle breeze, unable to stir even a speck of dust. The Moon Rabbit Baron realized he didn’t seem to have a very good way to deal with Segris, so he could only warn her in a cold tone: “Lady Segris, you seem to have forgotten who bestowed your current power upon you. You wouldn’t be so naive as to think that becoming a Soul Singer would allow you to contend with a Hell Lord, would you?”

“Nah, Mr. Moon Rabbit, is a contract truly unbreakable?” Segris’s voice was a little hazy. The Moon Rabbit Baron gave a cold laugh. “Lady Segris, please don’t harbor any illusions. Sworn on the soul, with a demon-god level powerhouse like the Lord of Hell as a witness, no one can break it unless they are an existence of the same level. Let alone you, a Soul Singer; even a Hell Lord cannot.”

“Then I’m relieved.” Segris smiled faintly, as if spring had arrived, and the entire opera house brightened. “Today’s opera has just begun. Can Mr. Moon Rabbit quietly stay and watch? It’s not often that so many distinguished guests are willing to join this grand performance. How can it be without the appreciation of two esteemed guests? The two Lord Bishops are of no ordinary status, please take your seats as well.”

As soon as Segris finished speaking, the Moon Rabbit Baron’s figure descended from the sky, appearing in the VIP section that materialized out of thin air below the stage. The two white-robed bishops from the Church of the Morning Goddess and the Church of the Storm God sat on either side of the Moon Rabbit Baron, barely a foot apart, close enough to touch with a raised hand.

The two white-robed bishops were greatly alarmed and tried to stand up in a hurry, but found that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t. Two high-ranking knights suddenly took two steps forward, and their sharp greatswords slashed fiercely towards Segris on the stage. Two brilliant rays of light, carrying powerful battle qi and traces of divine power, shot straight towards Segris, who was completely unprepared and gazing Obsessed at Lyte Kendall.

The battle qi was extremely fast. Before anyone could react, it had already passed through Segris’s delicate body, as if without any resistance, drawing a graceful arc, making a large circle, and turning 180 degrees straight towards the two white-robed bishops. The faces of the two high-ranking Guardian Knights truly changed this time; their protected targets were actually going to die by their own hands?

“Guard!” Two solid barriers appeared on the bodies of the two bishops. This was a divine art of the high-ranking Guardian Knights.

“Crack!” With a crisp sound, cracks appeared in the divine art’s protective barrier. The two white-robed bishops were not ordinary people without the power to fight; they simultaneously cast divine arts, putting two protective divine arts on themselves. But for some unknown reason, the effect of the divine arts was pitifully weak. The two high-ranking Guardian Knights quickly moved forward, blocking in front of the white-robed bishops. “Resilience!” Their two greatswords slammed fiercely into the sword qi they had previously unleashed.

With a thunderous roar, the two high-ranking Guardian Knights were struck by the sword qi they had casually unleashed, spitting out a mouthful of blood and flying backward,

rolling to the side, their fates unknown.

“How is this possible?!” Even Jasmine couldn’t maintain her composure. The two high-ranking Guardian Knights were not much weaker than herself. They were Temple Guardian Knights, and she was an Awakened Bloodline High-ranking Knight. They were evenly matched; even if she had a slight advantage, it would take some effort to defeat either of them. But to her surprise, facing Segris, these two high-ranking Guardian Knights were not even a match for a single blow.

“Protect the two Lord Bishops.” Knight Commander Wol, of the Temple Knights, immediately took the place of the two high-ranking knights, standing in front of the white-robed bishops. Dozens of intermediate knights burst forth with battle qi, quickly forming a defensive formation, completely surrounding the two white-robed bishops, and also conveniently encircling the Moon Rabbit Baron.

“Don’t hurt Lord Baron.” The little girl beside the Moon Rabbit Baron’s eyes suddenly turned red, her cat ears stood tall, and with a flick of her cat tail, she instantly appeared in front of the knight formation. Her sharp, inhuman claws slashed forward, and an intermediate knight had his throat torn open by her claw before he could even react.

“Honor!” “Guard!” “Resilience!” “Courage!” “Loyalty!” One by one, the knights unleashed their battle qi, and their greatswords slashed fiercely towards the cat-eared girl. No one chose to unleash their battle qi beyond their bodies; the precedent of the two high-ranking Guardian Knights was recent, and they chose a more controllable method.

The cat-eared girl moved rapidly sideways, circling around everyone. Her speed was incredibly fast, like a whirlwind, making it somewhat dazzling. In a blink of an eye, only a faint breeze remained, and the cat-eared girl had disappeared.

Is this invisibility? The knights all looked at each other. Dark Night Spirit Cats were very strong, but they weren’t known for head-on confrontations. Their sneak attack and assassination abilities were the most terrifying. Could that little girl really have acquired the full abilities of a Dark Night Spirit Cat? Previously, they had jointly dealt with some Dark Night Spirit Cat vessels, but they hadn’t seen such intelligence and strength.

“Ah~” Amidst a scream, an intermediate knight was slit in the throat from behind, blood splattering and staining the carpet. The two white-robed bishops hurriedly cast divine arts to treat him, but they were, after all, only white-robed bishops and did not possess the ability to bring the dead back to life. The cat-eared girl acted swiftly and decisively, a single blow ensuring death without leaving any room for recovery.

“Glory of the Morning Goddess!” “Protection of the Morning Goddess!” “Detection of the Storm God!” “Binding of the Storm God!” Divine arts were unleashed in all directions as if they were free. The cat-eared girl’s figure flickered in and out of sight. Whenever she was detected by a divine art, she immediately changed her position and vanished instantly. This ability to become invisible in the dark was truly a headache.

“Attack the Moon Rabbit Baron.” Knight Commander Wol’s voice was very loud. The Moon Rabbit Baron, like the two bishops, was trapped in his seat and unable to move. Several Temple Knights around him immediately raised their swords and slashed at him. “Clang! Clang! Clang!” The cat-eared girl appeared in front of the Moon Rabbit Baron, her sharp claws deflecting the greatswords that came at them one after another. She swung her hands rapidly, without needing any particular technique. Pure strength and speed beyond the visual range of intermediate knights severely injured several intermediate knights.

“Extraordinary power attacks and defenses are weakened here; only physical attacks and defenses are effective.” Knight Commander Wol observed carefully for a moment and said calmly, “Miss Jasmine, please use your bloodline ability.”

“Understood!” Jasmine, the high-ranking knight, flicked her hand and threw out three seeds. “Thorn Thicket!” Within a twenty-meter radius, the area was instantly covered by dense thorns. If extraordinary power attacks and defenses were restricted, what about crowd control abilities?

“Meow~” After the cat-eared girl’s attack was blocked by the thorns, she was gradually forced away from the Moon Rabbit Baron’s side. Finally, she couldn’t hold back and erupted, transforming into a small black cat, a Dark Night Spirit Cat just over a meter tall. Her body was very small, but that didn’t mean she was weaker than those three-to-five-meter-long Dark Night Spirit Cat vessels. On the contrary, a small Dark Night Spirit Cat that could freely control its own strength was even more powerful.

Black flames spewed from her mouth, carrying the aura of hell and incinerating all things. The thorn thicket trembled violently but couldn’t catch this agile little cat. Jasmine, the high-ranking knight, poured all her strength into it, and the thorny vines grew rapidly, instantly filling an area of a hundred meters. Even the Dark Night Spirit Cat’s flames couldn’t incinerate it.

“Stop, Jasmine, that’s enough.” The thorny vines were a feint. They secretly drilled out from the ground beneath the stage, surrounding Segris and Lyte Kendall. Several sharp thorns were about to entangle Segris when Lyte Kendall spoke up to stop her.

“Brother, don’t be fooled by this woman. She is no longer the Segris of fifteen years ago, but a resurrected hellish monster, a Soul Singer.” Jasmine was greatly anxious. Why had her usually so intelligent brother become so strange today? Could he really have been bewitched by this hateful woman?

“Alas, don’t let appearances blind your eyes, Jasmine. It’s you who truly needs to wake up.” Lyte’s voice resonated in Jasmine’s mind like the tolling of a bell.
