Chapter Index

“This child comes from a wild wizard, and although he inherited some of the Beast Faction’s legacy, it’s not the core, and my teacher changed it beyond recognition. It’s more like the path of a bloodline sorcerer, quite different from our orthodox Beast Faction.” Wizard Snake’s expression changed, and his tone followed suit.

“There are factions within the school. Bringing him back rashly might not be a good choice. His aptitude and character probably won’t adapt to the cruel competition within the school.”

“Haha, we can’t interfere with the internal affairs of your Beast Faction.” Wizard Stashan waved his hand directly, declaring the matter closed. Everyone should discuss the gains from the wizard ruins left by Professor Weizel.

Although I didn’t go because I needed to guard Drake City, you can’t give me no benefits at all, can you? “My grandson studied ancient languages with Professor Weizel. Now, the Church of the Goddess of Dawn entrusts him with all their ancient document translation tasks.”

“Some of the information I obtained does need to be translated.” The more Wizard Snake thought about it, the more he felt he was at a disadvantage by taking in this child, Zhulant. So, he thought of a compromise: “I am willing to share all this information with you, only asking that you keep this child. I heard that Drake City is preparing to build a wizard tower, and I want this child to have an peripheral position, to be able to follow you, even if it’s just to cultivate with your grandson. He is still a wizard apprentice of our Beast Faction, but only in name. Given this child’s sentimental nature, it’s unlikely he would switch to another faction.”

“That’s not appropriate. The Beast Faction’s legacy is too different from our Arcane Sect. This child is best suited for your Beast Faction’s wizard cultivation method.” Wizard Stashan genuinely didn’t want to take on this fool.

Glaring fiercely at Wizard Snake, Wizard Stashan lowered his voice and said, “Those words just now were just something little Weil said casually. You take this fool away yourself. Don’t think of leaving him here to bother us. We don’t have the ability to educate a fool whose only redeeming quality is his character into someone successful.”

Don’t do that, you don’t have that ability, and neither do I. Moreover, if this little guy really goes to the faction’s stronghold, it’s highly likely he won’t be recognized as one of their own, because I’ve carefully examined his inheritance, and the difference is too great. Besides a tiny bit of core similarity, it has been changed beyond recognition.

“Although my teacher’s experiment failed, there are many valuable lessons to be learned from it. I once saw that data, and I can organize a copy for Apprentice Wizard Weil and ask him to guide this fool. Don’t worry, it won’t be for too long. I won’t be returning to the Wizard Islands anytime soon, and I will definitely take him with me when I leave. You, old man, also know how dangerous the places explored by a formal wizard are. A half-baked wizard apprentice like him could easily die if he follows me.” Wizard Snake began to act shamelessly.

A stack of papers appeared in his hand, and the Copying Spell activated, lines of text appearing rapidly. In a moment, he organized a document and threw it to Wizard Stashan, who, however, had no intention of taking it. Wizard Snake simply placed it on the table and ignored it.

It was as if to say, “Goods sold are non-refundable,” which made Wizard Stashan feel an urge to drag him out and beat him up.

The other wizard apprentices’ gazes towards Zhulant immediately changed, from envy and jealousy to outright disdain. Such a fool, even if he were to suddenly awaken, would still be a commodity no one wanted, pushed back and forth.

“If we’re talking about a stroke of luck, little Weil isn’t without one, but do you really want to know? I don’t mind telling you, but whether you can find the corresponding person to help you will depend on your own efforts.” Wizard Stashan then pointed out the blood essence of a vampire and the blessing of a Soul Singer, explaining their benefits in detail, but not mentioning their drawbacks at all.

Among the wizard apprentices, there were naturally intelligent people. Some already knew about the existence of these two things, while others, though unaware themselves, knew how to read the expressions of other wizards and wizard apprentices.

The result was naturally dominated by disdain and contempt. Wizard apprentices also communicated with each other and quickly figured out these two things.

So, this is how so-called geniuses are made? However, some intelligent wizard apprentices found Wizard Stashan’s proud attitude a bit incredible. Why wasn’t he worried about his grandson’s situation? After all, these two things weren’t particularly good, and they had endless hidden troubles.

This question was naturally asked, and Stashan chuckled, “My grandson is no ordinary person. After using the blood essence, his bloodline awakened directly, minimizing the side effects immediately and maximizing the benefits. As for the issue of impure spiritual power that you mentioned, it’s actually not a big deal. As long as you visualize and engrave thirty-six basic runes during the first-level wizard apprentice stage, wait a few more years, and slowly eliminate these impurities. Wouldn’t that be good? It can also solidify the foundation, killing two birds with one stone.”

So, there are so many intricacies to using these two things; they aren’t entirely bad after all.

It’s just that they were too old to dream of bloodline awakening anymore, and knights and warriors weren’t what they wanted. All the wizard apprentices present were without exception third-level wizard apprentices (Zhulant was about to become one). Could they really go back to being first-level wizard apprentices?

Even if they could go back, would they choose such a method? Perhaps not; in fact, it could be said that the vast majority of people would not do so. They struggled for one or two years, or even three or four, at the first-level wizard apprentice stage, and not a single person was able to fully visualize and engrave the thirty-six basic runes. Rather than wasting time at the first-level wizard apprentice stage, it would be better to advance quickly and then accumulate more compatible foundations for their primary meditation method at the third-level wizard apprentice stage.

Moreover, blood essence is a specialty of vampires, and a vampire capable of condensing blood essence is at least a baron, equivalent to the strength of a first-level wizard. Soul Singers are even rarer; they are exclusively female beings, and their attacks are very strange and difficult to guard against. To encounter them, escape unscathed, and even gain some benefits, can be considered a stroke of luck, although most people with the ability and conditions to embark on the path of transcendence would not want such an encounter.

Regarding the Book of Wisdom, the wizards present began to brainstorm. What kind of thing or ability could enlighten wisdom, and be worthy of being called the Book of Wisdom? Being crowned with the name of Wisdom is clearly extraordinary. Gods are obviously out of the question; gods are to be worshipped, and they cannot be used casually.

What else besides gods? Divinity? Divine fire? These legendary things might work, but they are all related to gods, and one wrong move could lead to big trouble. The Classical Faction never seemed to have similar problems. So what other possibilities are there? Spirits, spirits of magical books, or spirit controllers. However, these beings generally can only control knowledge, and are not considered true wisdom, let alone capable of enlightening wisdom.

People! Perhaps that kid really hit the nail on the head. The Book of Wisdom might well be a set of rules or methods for educating future generations, and people are the key to maximizing the effectiveness of these things.

In fact, that kid wasn’t wrong to call Professor Weizel the Book of Wisdom. Besides being a great sage himself, solving problems for many human kingdoms, Professor Weizel also taught a considerable number of excellent students. He spread knowledge, and in doing so, wasn’t he also spreading his own wisdom?

There were five official wizards permanently stationed in Drake City, two of whom were from the Kendall family. Besides Wizard Stashan, there were two free wizards: one from an aristocratic family, and one a true outsider who came from the Wizard Islands to this place where the church was prevalent.

Wizard Stashan designed a large hexagram wizard array, planning to build six wizard towers to form a complete defensive array, while also gathering the free magic in the air to create an artificially constructed wizard cultivation sanctuary. Of these wizard towers, one was for backup, and the others were for each official wizard, who would be responsible for their own materials, and everyone would work together during construction.

The two official wizards of the Kendall family naturally had no objections; they were rich and willful. Stashan, as a peak second-level wizard, also had some savings. Although Wizard Jelly had some difficulties, she could barely cope with the initial investment, and the remaining two wizards could only find sponsors.

“The Pink family is a good choice. Apprentice Wizard Una Peck plans to take a wizard-only ship to the Wizard Islands in three years. Until then, she will stay in Drake City. I think she should be interested in our wizard tower.” Wizard Stashan recommended Una Peck to the two wizards, which was a win-win deal.
