Chapter Index

Yun Shan and Nalan Yanran knew Yu Xian was powerful, but witnessing him effortlessly instantly kill a Dou Zong, severely injure a Dou Zun, and even send a message to the Soul Hall Master like that, the scene was still a bit much for their hearts to bear.

Especially Yu Xian’s casual attitude when speaking to that strange Jade Slip completely overturned their understanding of powerful experts.

Yun Yun, on the other hand, looked at Yu Xian with a helpless yet amused expression; this was her husband.

“Husband, will the Soul Hall Master come?” Yun Yun asked.

Yu Xian turned to look at her, raising an eyebrow. “He will. Yun’er, how many things do you think he’ll bring?”

After speaking, he cast his gaze back to Mu Gu Old Man, who was slumped on the ground, his face ashen.

“I don’t think he’s worth much,” Yun Yun also looked at Mu Gu Old Man, her face full of disdain.

“Tell me, how much value do you think your Hall Master places on you?” Yu Xian asked Mu Gu Old Man on the ground again.

Mu Gu Old Man trembled, his remaining Dou Qi almost solidifying.

He watched as the man and woman before him openly discussed his value, as if weighing a piece of merchandise. A chill, a mix of humiliation and fear, shot from his spine to the top of his head.

“Hall Master… Hall Master he…” He wanted to say that the Hall Master’s prestige was supreme, how could he easily compromise for an Elder? But remembering Yu Xian’s unfathomable strength and his current painful predicament, he swallowed his words.

In the face of absolute power, so-called prestige and rules seemed so ridiculous.

He could only lower his head, not daring to look into Yu Xian’s teasing eyes, but in his heart, he prayed frantically, hoping that he still held a sliver of importance in the Hall Master’s heart, even if it was just for the sake of the Soul Hall’s reputation, that he would come to save his life.

Seeing his dispirited state, Yu Xian no longer bothered with him. He stood with his hands behind his back, looking up at the sky, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Hun Mie Sheng, huh… I hope you don’t disappoint me.”

“Husband, what is the strength of that Soul Hall Master?” Yun Yun asked.

“Five-star Dou Sheng Middle Stage,” Yu Xian said.

“Middle Stage of Dou Sheng?” Yun Yun had no more worries now! She leaned against Yu Xian, quietly waiting.

Before long, a vast, sinister aura rapidly gathered like dark clouds, obscuring the sunlight and plunging the entire Yunlan Sect into darkness and oppression.

A rift tore open in the sky, and a figure slowly emerged from it.

The person wore a high-crowned, wide-sleeved robe of profound black, inlaid with dark gold patterns. The hem of the robe, as it fell, resembled surging black mist, its edges embroidered with twisted soul patterns. A dark purple bone mask covered his face, its patterns ferocious, with only narrow slits for the eyes and nose. The gaze emanating from beneath the mask was a cold, pure black without pupils.

Violet-black ghostly flames, the sub-fire of the Nihility Devouring Flame, swirled around him, and within the flames, countless phantom resentful spirits could vaguely be seen struggling. His aura was chilling and bone-piercing; wherever he passed, space subtly trembled, and even the air carried a decaying Death Qi.

Yu Xian and Yun Yun exchanged glances, both seeing satisfaction in the other’s eyes; he really came.

“Your Excellency, how dare you abduct an Elder of my Soul Hall and even play such tricks on me!” Hun Mie Sheng’s voice was like the roar of ten thousand vengeful ghosts, filled with endless chill and fury, echoing through the sky.

Yu Xian, however, seemed not to hear. He simply folded his arms, observing Hun Mie Sheng in the sky with keen interest: “Oh? The Soul Hall Master is a bit slow! I thought the Soul Hall Master was some kind of coward, afraid to come!”

“You’re courting death!” Hun Mie Sheng roared, extending a hand. The boundless black mist transformed into a monstrous ghostly claw that blotted out the sky, grabbing fiercely towards Yu Xian with world-destroying might.

Under this claw, the air was torn apart, emitting a piercing shriek. The entire Yunlan Sect’s mountain-protecting formation trembled violently, as if it could collapse at any moment.

Yun Shan and Nalan Yanran’s faces turned pale, almost suffocating. The pressure of a Five-star Dou Sheng was simply unbearable for them.

Yu Xian smiled faintly, his figure motionless. He merely snapped his fingers, and the entire Yunlan Sect was enveloped in a soft light barrier. The sky-blotting ghostly claw struck the barrier like a mud ox entering the sea, dissipating without even stirring a ripple.

Hun Mie Sheng’s pupils contracted sharply; even the mask on his face seemed unable to conceal his shock.

Yu Xian’s figure then flickered, instantly appearing before Hun Mie Sheng, moving so fast that even Hun Mie Sheng, a Five-star Dou Sheng, couldn’t fully track him.

“You!” Hun Mie Sheng was furious and alarmed. In haste, he activated the Nihility Devouring Flame sub-fire around him, transforming it into a violet-black wall of fire to defend himself.

“Sizzle!” Yu Xian’s finger, like a sharp sword, easily pierced through the violet-black wall of fire and pointed towards Hun Mie Sheng’s face.

Hun Mie Sheng reacted extremely quickly, sharply turning his body, narrowly avoiding it. However, the energy from the fingertip tore his long robe across the chest, revealing the inner armor also embroidered with soul patterns.

A chill rose from the depths of Hun Mie Sheng’s heart; this young man’s strength far exceeded his imagination!

“Who exactly are you?!” Hun Mie Sheng roared. He couldn’t believe such a terrifyingly young existence could be on the Douqi Continent.

“Who I am isn’t important. What’s important is whether the ransom you brought today is enough to buy the life of your Elder.” Yu Xian’s smile remained, but his hands showed no mercy. His palm strikes changed, each containing terrifying power, forcing Hun Mie Sheng to retreat repeatedly, looking utterly disheveled.

Yun Yun stood below, poised and still, quietly watching Yu Xian and Hun Mie Sheng’s battle, her eyes filled with trust and adoration.

And Mu Gu Old Man on the ground was already Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering. He never imagined that his Hall Master, whom he revered like a god, would be so vulnerable before Yu Xian!

In the sky, the battle grew fiercer. Violet-black flames and dazzling light intertwined and collided, emitting deafening sounds. Space constantly twisted and shattered, only to be rapidly repaired by an invisible force.

The more Hun Mie Sheng fought, the more alarmed he became. He found that no matter what soul technique he used or how powerful the Dou Qi he employed, he couldn’t harm the opponent in the slightest. Instead, his own injuries were constantly increasing.

He had a feeling that the person opposite him was toying with him!

“Pfft!” With another heavy blow, Hun Mie Sheng was struck in the chest by Yu Xian’s palm, spitting out a large mouthful of black blood. His body plummeted from the sky like a kite with a broken string, smashing heavily onto the Yunlan Sect’s plaza, creating a huge deep pit in the hard bluestone ground.

Yu Xian slowly descended, standing at the edge of the deep pit, looking down at the disheveled Hun Mie Sheng. “Now, how much do you think your Elder is worth?”

“Does Your Excellency really want to be endlessly hostile with my Soul Hall?” Hun Mie Sheng said, looking disheveled.

“Endlessly hostile? I’m not that idle. As long as you show enough sincerity, today’s matter will be dropped. Of course, if you want to fight, I don’t mind playing with you.

Or, you can bring out the Soul Clan?”

As soon as his voice fell, an even more terrifying aura emanated from Yu Xian, an aura like a deep abyss and towering mountains, causing the entire world to lose its color.
