Chapter Index

Yu Xian let out a muffled snort, veins bulging on his forehead, yet his Dao Heart remained as steady as a rock.

He had chosen the path of Reverse Cultivation, and at this moment, the illusions of the Heart Demon were churning in his Sea of Consciousness, with the regrets of his past life and the obsessions of this one transforming into ferocious faces lunging at him.

His eyes snapped open, the Law of Water swirling within his pupils, the Law of Deduction acting like an invisible giant hand dissecting the source of the illusion. He let out a low cry: “Taking emotion as the Dao, why fear the Heart Demon!”

Before his voice faded, the Immortal Qi around his body boiled abruptly, echoing with the Dao Heart in his Sea of Consciousness, actually refining the Heart Demon illusions into specks of spiritual light that merged into his Primordial Spirit.

Immediately following this, the Immortal Qi within his Dantian began to violently collide and fuse with the Law of Water. The pale-green liquid Immortal Qi continuously compressed, gradually condensing the prototype (rudiment) of a rhombic crystal.

This was the Foundation of the Crystal of Ascension; every compression was accompanied by excruciating pain akin to shattering bones.

He didn’t know how long had passed, but when the last wisp of Immortal Qi was compressed into the crystal core, a brilliant azure light suddenly erupted within his Dantian.

Yu Xian abruptly raised his head, the Spiritual Qi vortex outside his body exploded with a roar, transforming into countless points of light that merged into his body. He slowly stood up, his aura completely different now.

It was a pressure that seemed capable of controlling the universe. The shackles of the Infant Transformation Realm were utterly shattered; the Realm of Ascension was achieved!

But it wasn’t over. Immortal Qi surged wildly within him, and his Realm continued to climb. Yu Xian did not relax in the slightest; he could clearly sense the Crystal of Ascension slowly rotating in his Dantian.

Every rotation emitted a vast power of Law. The Law of Water and the Law of Deduction coiled around the crystal core like two swimming Dragons, continuously refining this newborn core.

Yu Xian also didn’t know how much time had passed. He could clearly perceive the flow of every wisp of Law, and he could even use the Law of Deduction to predict subtle changes in the surrounding Spiritual Qi.

As the crystal core stabilized its operation, terrifying power far exceeding the Infant Transformation Stage surged through his limbs and bones. Wherever it passed, his Physical Body and Meridians were further tempered by the power of Law, becoming even tougher, faintly emitting a jade-like luster.

There was no Lightning Tribulation. Aside from the process being somewhat painful, his Realm had reached the Peeking Nirvana Stage!

Yu Xian himself couldn’t help but secretly gasp in astonishment.

Realm Breakthroughs required many difficult conditions, but in the end, the System had solved all his difficulties. He only needed to clock in repeatedly to receive rewards and raise his Realm!

    He knelt down!

As Yu Xian’s Realm stabilized, the Spiritual Qi in the Small World transformed into Immortal Qi. Within the Small World, whether it was The Women, the children, or the Divine Beasts, they all experienced a massive elevation due to the Immortal Qi.

Those few girls and boys who had just learned to crawl instantly reached the Foundation Establishment Stage, while Yu Chenning and the others all reached the Golden Core Stage.

It felt a bit like one person attaining the Dao brought ascension to all his dependents.

Yu Xian truly hadn’t expected that by coming to the Rain Immortal Realm, he would directly sign in to obtain the Legacy within, and even break through to the Peeking Nirvana Stage. This trip was incredibly worthwhile.

He had originally only planned to gather resources to charge toward Ascension, but he never thought the System would directly package and deliver the core Legacy of the Rain Immortal Realm, even skipping the most perilous hurdle—the Heavenly Tribulation—which was practically ascending to the heavens in one step.

At this moment, feeling the unprecedented powerful strength within him, and the earth-shattering changes in the Small World caused by his Breakthrough, he was filled only with pleasant surprise.

It seemed this Rain Immortal Realm truly hid unknown Opportunities, and he was undoubtedly the greatest beneficiary. However, he still needed to walk through the Immortal Realm.

Moreover, after obtaining the Legacy of Qing Lin, he thought of a person: Qing Shuang, who was the Immortal Corpse always carried by Yu Xian.

Now that he had the Legacy, he could try to save Qing Shuang.

Thus, he exited the Small World and returned to the first piece of land where he had entered. Only then did he realize that everywhere were broken White Jade Immortal Palaces, toppled Profound Iron Immortal Mountains, and ruined steles carved with runes—traces of ancient destruction everywhere, desolate and bleak, utterly different from the Immortal Realm he had imagined.

Huge palm prints and sword marks were still visible, imprints left by battles between Immortal Emperors, radiating a pressure that made Cultivators’ hearts tremble.

Among the people who entered the Rain Immortal Realm this time, besides Wang Lin, it should be the same as when Wang Lin first entered the Rain Immortal Realm—meaning, Yu Xian was also here. Yu Xian always carried Qing Shuang’s corpse; finding Yu Xian meant finding Qing Shuang.

But how to find Yu Xian?

In the original story, while exploring the deeper Secret Realm, Wang Lin accidentally broke into the Restriction set by Heavenly Marquis to trap and kill Yu Xian, following the sound of fighting to find a dilapidated pavilion.

He discovered Yu Xian fighting to the death against Sun Tai, the Grand Elder of the Corpse Yin Sect, to protect Qing Shuang’s Immortal Corpse. Yu Xian was already heavily injured, burning his Primordial Spirit in a desperate attempt to break through and counterattack, but Sun Tai seized his weakness and aimed the Corpse Soul Ghost Spear directly at his back, leaving him on the verge of falling.

Wang Lin watched secretly from the shadows. Moved by Yu Xian’s deep affection and sensing his connection to the Rain Immortal Sword, he secretly struck, using pure Lightning power to shatter Sun Tai’s ghost spear. Sun Tai sensed a powerful expert in the dark and fled in panic.

Wang Lin stepped out of his hiding spot. Yu Xian, knowing his Primordial Spirit was about to dissipate and his time was short, let down his guard, thanked Wang Lin, and entrusted him with the task of protecting Qing Shuang and the Rain Immortal Sword. Thus, the two met and formed a bond.

In this way, he should be able to encounter Yu Xian within the Restriction Formation set by Heavenly Marquis.

Yu Xian had obtained almost all the Legacy of the Rain Immortal Realm. Therefore, within the Rain Immortal Realm, he possessed a perception of its Restrictions and Formations far surpassing others.

With a thought, the Law of Water and the Law of Deduction intertwined in his Sea of Consciousness, and the rune networks of the surrounding space instantly became clearly visible, like an unfolded three-dimensional map.

Yu Xian could easily distinguish which were naturally formed Spatial Barriers and which were man-made Killing Formations, and he could even discern the Formation’s weak points and operational patterns.

He quickly found the general location of Heavenly Marquis’s Restriction. Yu Xian’s figure transformed into an azure streak of light, shuttling between the shattered plates of the Immortal Domain, avoiding the dangerous areas still retaining the pressure of an Immortal Emperor, and rushing toward the Secret Realm hiding that pavilion.

Arriving at the Restriction set by Heavenly Marquis, he followed the sounds of fierce fighting and the scorching aura of burning Primordial Spirit, finding that dilapidated ancient pavilion.

Inside the pavilion at that time, chaos reigned. Liquid Immortal Qi surged from cracks in the ground, only to be vaporized into mist by Killing Intent and Death Qi. The surrounding Restriction runes lit up with a scarlet glow, coiling around Yu Xian’s figure like chains. With every contraction, blood overflowed from the corner of Yu Xian’s mouth; the scene was extremely perilous.

Yu Xian concealed his aura and watched quietly. He saw Yu Xian, his robes stained with blood and his long hair disheveled, his aura wild and nearly out of control. He was fighting to the death with Sun Tai, the Grand Elder of the Corpse Yin Sect.

Sun Tai coveted the Origin power of Qing Shuang’s Immortal Corpse and came wielding the secret arts of the Corpse Yin Sect. Dense Death Qi wreathed his body, and the ghost claws in his hands glowed with dark light. Every strike unleashed dozens of Corpse Souls howling forth, frantically eroding Yu Xian’s Primordial Spirit and Physical Body.

He continuously mocked Yu Xian for his obsession with a mere skeleton, urging him to hand over Qing Shuang’s Immortal Corpse to save himself.

But Yu Xian’s eyes held only the need to protect. He tightly gripped a broken long sword, surrounded by a faint Sword Soul light. Even though he was already heavily wounded and his spiritual power was exhausted, he steadfastly blocked the jade bed deep within the pavilion.
