Chapter 60: A Beauty Falls from the Sky
by MachineSamurai9124Yu Xian stepped forward and dug out all of the swords.
The first was a Nameless Sharp Sword, engraved with eight characters: “Fierce and overbearing, nothing it cannot destroy.” Yu Xian weighed it in his hand; it felt quite comfortable and usable.
The second was the Violet Rose Soft Sword. It also had a good feel and was a fine blade. Seeking Defeat Alone had discarded it after accidentally wounding a righteous man with it—what a waste of a heavenly treasure! It was suitable for Little Dragon Girl, so he would take it back to Long’er.
The third was the Mystic Iron Heavy Sword. Yu Xian picked it up and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly; it was truly heavy. The original work recorded it as weighing eighty-one catties. An ordinary person really couldn’t use it. The surface was engraved with the words: “Heavy sword without an edge, great skill requires no craftsmanship.”
The fourth was a wooden sword. Yu Xian only gave it a brief glance.
He had already received the enlightenment of Seeking Defeat Alone’s various Realm insights through the empowerment, allowing him to transcend the need for a physical sword. Although he had originally come for the swords, it seemed he no longer strictly needed them.
However, even if he didn’t use them, he could give them to others.
He could keep the Nameless Sharp Sword; having a sword and not using it was not the same as having no sword to use. Yu Xian directly stored the sharp sword, the Violet Rose Soft Sword, and the Mystic Iron Heavy Sword into his System Space.
“Brother Eagle, I have collected these swords on behalf of Senior Dugu, and I promise you I will find suitable owners for them.” Yu Xian still informed the Great Eagle, as it had been guarding these things all along.
“Goo-goo!”
The Great Eagle nodded heavily.
Suddenly, however, the Great Eagle spread its wings and flapped, sending a gust of strong wind straight toward Yu Xian.
“Brother Eagle, do you want to trade a few blows with me?” Seeing the Great Eagle’s movements, Yu Xian asked with a smile.
“Goo-goo!”
After its cry, the Great Eagle flapped its wings and attacked Yu Xian.
Since the Great Eagle was interested, Yu Xian didn’t want to spoil the fun. After waving his palm to resist the incoming wind, he began to spar with the Great Eagle.
It was likely that Seeking Defeat Alone had frequently sparred with the Great Eagle, so although its body was heavy, every move was very methodical. Its ability was no less than that of the Innate Realm.
Fighting the Great Eagle, Yu Xian still had plenty of room to spare. He took the opportunity to pick up the wooden sword and performed the Lone Nine Swords, the version that had just undergone Fusion with Seeking Defeat Alone’s insights.
The Great Eagle was testing his Martial Arts, but Yu Xian also wanted the Great Eagle to help him hone his skills. Having knowledge in one’s head was one thing, but being able to fully utilize it was another.
The Great Eagle had accompanied Seeking Defeat Alone for so long that it was surely very familiar with the Lone Nine Swords, making it the perfect sparring partner.
Sure enough, upon seeing Yu Xian perform the Lone Nine Swords, the Great Eagle became increasingly excited as they fought, letting out various cries. Its eyes seemed to hold a sense of nostalgia for its former master, yet also a kind of new expectation.
For two hours, the man and the eagle sparred for a full two hours. Both Yu Xian and the Great Eagle felt a sense of hearty satisfaction.
This was the first time since arriving in this world that Yu Xian had exerted himself so much. He was covered in sweat and, more importantly, he was hungry. He hadn’t eaten anything since waking up, and then he had been sparring with the Great Eagle since arriving at the Sword Tomb; how could he not be hungry?
“Let’s stop here for today. Let’s go back and get something to eat,” Yu Xian said to the Great Eagle.
In fact, listening to the Great Eagle’s breathing, he could tell it was already very exhausted, but because the eagle remained so excited, he hadn’t stopped until now.
“Goo-goo!”
Hearing this, the Great Eagle led the way back along the path, presumably wanting to take Yu Xian back to the cave.
Once the man and the eagle returned to the cave, the Great Eagle looked at the empty wine jars on the ground and called out to Yu Xian again.
Yu Xian spread his hands; there was none left!
“Goo-goo!” The Great Eagle was displeased and picked up a wine jar with its beak, nudging Yu Xian to signal him to prepare more.
Yu Xian found it amusing. It wasn’t that he was stingy, but he really didn’t have any more.
“If you want to drink, you’ll have to wait for me to go outside and buy some more for you.”
“Goo-goo!”
“Alright, alright, I’ll go buy some now. You go catch some game, and we’ll have a hearty drink then!”
“Goo-goo!”
The Great Eagle called out while shooing him away, telling Yu Xian to go and return quickly.
Yu Xian had no choice but to return to the city to buy wine. Fortunately, he had the System Space and could pack as much as he wanted.
Familiar with the path now, Yu Xian emerged from the valley, unlike when he had arrived, dawdling and picking up snakes to play with.
The valley was still a long distance from the city, so Yu Xian didn’t delay on the road, instead using his Lightness Skill to travel.
After buying all the stored wine from a tavern, he had it delivered outside the city. He then took the opportunity when no one was around to store it in his System Space. Then he headed back toward the valley, still using his Lightness Skill.
However, just as he returned to the outskirts of the valley, a figure suddenly fell from the sky, nearly hitting him.
When the figure slammed heavily onto the ground, a muffled, heavy groan could be heard.
It looked like they were injured.
Judging by the attire, it seemed to be a woman.
Yu Xian didn’t continue on his way but stepped forward to investigate.
“She’s quite a beauty, but she’s seriously injured,” Yu Xian muttered to himself while checking.
A tattered purple silk dress wrapped around her slender waist. From between her messy hair at the temples, half of a jade-like face was revealed. Her brow peaked sharply like a sword, and the lines at the corners of her eyes were condensed with a heavy, violent aura. Her lip color was as pale as faded rouge.
The blood overflowing from the corner of her mouth added a touch of sorrow, and in her sharp, piercing gaze, there was also a kind of pitiful vulnerability.
Seeing her, Yu Xian felt a sense of pity. Who could have the heart to strike such a beautiful woman so heavily?
“Miss, are you alright?” Yu Xian reached out, wanting to help her up.
But although the girl was heavily injured, she still used her strength to slap his hand away, then struggled to move herself further away from Yu Xian. “Stinking man, mind your own business!”
“Oh, quite a fiery temper for someone so badly hurt.” Yu Xian couldn’t help but shake his head, guessing the girl’s identity.
From her attitude toward him—a stranger she was meeting for the first time, yet calling him a’stinking man’—she was clearly very resistant to any man’s approach. In other words, this girl hated men, whether they were familiar or not.
So, who was she?
“Hahaha, Li Mochou, you won’t escape this time!”
Before the person was seen, their voice was heard. An arrogant male voice came from the distance, full of confidence.
Wait, Li Mochou?
This girl is the Chi Lian Fairy Li Mochou, Long’er’s Senior Sister?
Yu Xian gave Li Mochou a meaningful look.
It’s a small world. When he left the Ancient Tomb, he had thought that if he met Li Mochou outside, he would try to fool her.
And here she was, falling straight from the sky right in front of him.
While Yu Xian was still thinking about whether to fool Li Mochou, five ugly-looking men holding iron rods had already surrounded them.
Each of them scanned Li Mochou’s body with greedy and lewd gazes, as if looking at prey already in their grasp.
Yu Xian saw that these people’s cultivation wasn’t high, so how did they beat Li Mochou like this?
“Kid, move aside quickly. This woman belongs to us.” One of the five in the middle said fiercely upon seeing Yu Xian squatting beside Li Mochou.
“And if I don’t?” Yu Xian indifferently scanned the five men, then looked back at Li Mochou.
Reaching into his robe, he took out a Xiao Huan Dan and, without giving Li Mochou a chance to refuse, stuffed it directly into her mouth.
