Chapter 6: Has Master Yue Decided?
by MachineSamurai9124Inside the cave at Siguo Cliff, there was a large stone slab with traces of someone having slept on it; it was likely used as a bed by Huashan Sect Disciples who had been sent here for punishment.
The most likely candidate was Linghu Chong, as he was punished the most often.
Tsk tsk, looking at the environment in the cave, it was actually quite good—quiet and undisturbed. If someone delivered food, focusing on practicing Swordsmanship here would definitely yield significant results.
Unfortunately, in the original story, Linghu Chong was punished at Siguo Cliff many times but never settled down to Cultivate. If he hadn’t learned the Lone Nine Swords later on, his high Comprehension Ability would have truly gone to waste.
Yu Xian sat cross-legged on the stone slab and began to Cultivate the Zixia Divine Skill.
He had already mastered and become proficient in the Swordsmanship and movement techniques today, but he had not yet truly circulated the Zixia Divine Skill on his own.
After several cycles, Yu Xian felt the Internal Energy within his body become more stable and much smoother to utilize.
Yu Xian exhaled deeply, feeling very satisfied with his current level of power.
As the moon rose over the branches, Yu Xian lit a leftover torch inside the cave at Siguo Cliff, and the cave emitted a hint of warmth.
Aside from the chirping of insects and the sound of wind blowing through the leaves, there were no other sounds around the cave. It was very quiet, with a touch more eeriness than during the day.
If Yu Xian didn’t have his current level of power, he might not have dared to stay in this cave alone.
Setting aside ghosts and the like, even some wild animals would be enough to give him trouble. Who knew what warm-blooded or cold-blooded animals were hidden on this Mount Hua.
With the moon directly overhead, Yu Xian couldn’t estimate what time it was, nor even the year or month; he could only roughly tell the season.
Yu Xian estimated it was about time for Yue Buqun to arrive, so he stopped practicing and waited quietly.
Sure enough, before long, the sound of footsteps and voices came from outside the cave.
“Senior Brother, it’s so late. Why is there torchlight here? Could someone be inside?”
A gentle female voice reached Yu Xian’s ears, sounding exceptionally pleasant. Yu Xian didn’t even have to guess to know it was Ning Zhongze’s voice.
Yue Buqun had indeed brought Ning Zhongze!
The corners of Yu Xian’s mouth couldn’t help but curl slightly.
“Didn’t I say I was taking you to see an expert? The expert is inside.”
Then, Yue Buqun’s voice followed.
“Exactly what kind of expert is this, being so mysterious? Can’t they just come to our sect?” Ning Zhongze asked, puzzled.
After Senior Brother Yue Buqun returned today, he first instructed her to prepare a sumptuous meal. Then, during dinner, he told her a lot about the current problems facing the Huashan Sect—internal troubles, external threats, and numerous difficulties.
She had always been working hard alongside her Senior Brother to face and resolve these issues. However, their capabilities were limited, and they hadn’t managed to make the Huashan Sect flourish; they were barely managing to hold it together.
Nevertheless, she believed that with the joint efforts of herself, her Senior Brother, and all the Disciples, they would surely revitalize Huashan.
She had known about those problems for a long time, but she didn’t know why her Senior Brother had emphasized them again tonight. It made her feel that there was something slightly different about him this evening.
However, she kept her doubts hidden in her heart and didn’t speak them aloud.
After the meal, Yue Buqun told her that he had met an expert today—an expert who could help their Huashan flourish—but she needed to accompany him for a visit tonight.
Ning Zhongze would naturally not disobey her Senior Brother’s words. If her Senior Brother asked her to come along, she would come along.
But exactly what kind of expert was it? And why did they have to visit at night, and at Siguo Cliff? Could it be a Senior of the Huashan Sect?
Ning Zhongze was uncertain and felt a faint sense of unease, but seeing the expectant look in Yue Buqun’s eyes, she didn’t feel right saying anything.
Thus, the two of them arrived at Siguo Cliff together.
Seeing the firelight coming from the cave, Ning Zhongze couldn’t help but ask, “Senior Brother, who is this expert?”
Yue Buqun shook his head. “I don’t know either.”
He hadn’t managed to ask the young man’s name today, let alone find out his identity. He only knew that he was young and possessed high Martial Arts skills, being familiar not only with their Huashan Martial Arts but also with the techniques of the other Five Peaks Sword Sects.
This was what was most terrifying, but it also gave him great hope.
Hearing this, Ning Zhongze was stunned. He didn’t even know who the person was, yet he agreed to visit in the dead of night? A normal person wouldn’t ask someone to meet in the middle of the night, would they?
However, Ning Zhongze only paused for a moment before quickly setting her mind at ease. With her and her Senior Brother’s Martial Arts, even if Zuo Lengchan came, they wouldn’t suffer any harm if they fought together.
“Then let’s be careful.” Facing an unknown person, Ning Zhongze felt it was better to be cautious.
“Mm.” Yue Buqun responded noncommittally.
He wasn’t worried at all because he knew Yu Xian wanted something from him, and that he was after Ning Zhongze.
As long as he handed Ning Zhongze over to Yu Xian, Yu Xian would not only give him the Lone Nine Swords but also the Swordsmanship of the Five Peaks Sword Sect, so he wasn’t worried in the slightest.
After he decided to hand Ning Zhongze over, the more he looked at her, the more he felt he was doing the right thing.
Although Ning Zhongze was responsible for many of the internal sect affairs, at this moment, Yue Buqun felt she was of little use to him, far less valuable than high-level Martial Arts.
“Are those outside Master Yue and Madam Yue?”
Yu Xian’s cool voice drifted out from the cave.
“Young Hero, Yue Buqun has brought his Junior Sister Ning Zhongze to visit. Please come out and meet us.”
Hearing the voice, Yue Buqun cupped his hands toward the cave despite not seeing the person, maintaining perfect etiquette. He had always been this refined and polite.
Ning Zhongze was still surprised that Yue Buqun addressed the person inside as ‘Young Hero’ when she felt a blur before her eyes, and a figure appeared in front of her.
By the firelight coming from the cave, she clearly saw the newcomer.
He had a very young and handsome face, an extraordinary temperament, and a faint, playful smile with a hint of unidentifiable wickedness. He clearly wasn’t an ordinary person.
If it were a young woman, she would definitely be captivated by this face; she had never seen such a handsome youth before.
Is this the expert Senior Brother spoke of? Being so young, what kind of expert could he be? Ning Zhongze remained skeptical.
Seeing Yu Xian emerge, Yue Buqun immediately bowed to him. “Young Hero.”
Yu Xian did not return the gesture, his gaze instead lingering on Ning Zhongze.
He had already known during the day that Ning Zhongze’s appearance was extraordinary, and though the firelight wasn’t very bright now, it was enough to see her face clearly.
He was still struck with admiration. She was clearly nearly forty, yet she looked only around thirty. Perhaps due to years of practicing Martial Arts, she not only maintained a great figure but also showed no signs of aging on her face.
She was exactly the kind of older sister he liked! Yu Xian was secretly delighted.
“Has Master Yue decided?” Yu Xian asked coldly.
