Chapter Index

“So, who should we look for first?” Huang Rong looked at Yu Xian with a meaningful expression.

Yu Xian really wanted to turn around and leave. He didn’t want to look for anyone! Couldn’t he just not look for anyone? Weren’t his women enough? Twenty-eight of them! Although his physique was robust, too many was still a hassle!

“How about Huyan Guanyin then? She’s on the grasslands, close to us,” Ye Ruoyi suggested.

“You all go ahead. I’m going back to Xue Luo Manor,” Yu Xian said with a gloomy expression, then turned and left directly.

There were some things he could indulge them in intentionally, but some things were not for them to control him on!

He indicated that he was angry!

When The Women saw Yu Xian turn around, they also knew he was angry. They exchanged glances, unsure if Yu Xian was truly angry or just pretending. Thus, they all turned their gaze to Ning Zhongze.

Ning Zhongze: Why are you looking at me? I don’t know either!

However, Ning Zhongze still caught up to Yu Xian’s pace and grabbed his hand. Yu Xian struggled slightly, trying to break free, but it was only for a moment; he didn’t actually shake off her hand.

However, she was now very certain that her younger brother was genuinely angry.

“Angry?” Ning Zhongze softened her voice slightly and gently shook Yu Xian’s arm.

“No!” Yu Xian immediately denied it.

Ning Zhongze secretly chuckled. Still claiming no? The words ‘I am very angry’ were practically etched on his face!

“Really not?” Ning Zhongze asked, deliberately drawing out her tone. Her fingertips lightly drew circles on the back of his hand, and the smile in her eyes was almost overflowing.

She quietly observed the change in Yu Xian’s expression. Seeing his earlobes were slightly flushed while his lips remained tightly pursed, she found it even more amusing.

This appearance of saying one thing while meaning another added a touch more liveliness than his usual composed and calm demeanor.

“No!” Yu Xian stubbornly continued to deny it.

“Alright, stop sulking. The sisters were just joking with you. Look at you, a grown man throwing a tantrum with us. Aren’t you afraid of being laughed at if this gets out?” As she spoke, she looked up into Yu Xian’s eyes, trying to catch a hint of softening in his expression.

“Besides, wasn’t the whole point of our journey together to have fun and excitement? If I truly displeased you, your elder sister will apologize on their behalf, okay?” Ning Zhongze coaxed him, her tone growing gentler.

She knew Yu Xian wasn’t truly enraged, but rather felt cornered by the continuous teasing from The Women. Right now, he just needed an out to step down gracefully.

Her little brother, the foremost under heaven, was still just a child who hadn’t grown up. He was clearly extremely conflicted inside but stubbornly refused to admit it.

When a few playful remarks from the sisters poked at his sensitive spot, he threw a small fit. That look was exactly like a young man who felt wronged but stubbornly refused to cry.

The main reason was that he usually doted on and indulged his sisters, never truly getting upset over their occasional jokes.

This time, his reaction was a first.

Ning Zhongze understood internally but remained outwardly calm. She just held his hand even more gently, her voice carrying a tone of slight chiding mixed with doting affection. “You are just hard-mouthed but soft-hearted. The sisters only teased you because they rarely see you, who usually plans everything meticulously, in such an awkward state. They had no intention of truly forcing you.”

She paused, then leaned closer, lowering her voice. “Besides, even if we truly wanted to go see those figures on the Rouge List, wouldn’t we still need your nod? If you truly didn’t want to, could we possibly tie you up and drag you along?”

Yu Xian pouted, and in the end, there was only one reply: “I’m not angry.”

However, this statement lacked the obvious stubbornness of his previous denials. Instead, it carried a subtle hint of yielding, suggesting that Ning Zhongze’s gentle words had quietly lowered his guard.

Although he still refused to verbally admit his earlier minor emotion, his slightly lowered eyelids and the no longer taut line of his jaw had already betrayed his true current state of mind.

“Mhm, I know you’re not angry. So, where are we going next? You must have a plan, right?” Ning Zhongze said with a smile. She knew Yu Xian’s statement meant he was indeed no longer angry, but she still needed to give him a way to gracefully continue the conversation.

As she spoke, she lightly squeezed his palm, and the smile in her eyes deepened.

Yu Xian felt the light squeeze in his palm. He looked up and met Ning Zhongze’s look filled with teasing amusement. The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curve upward slightly, and all the previous awkwardness completely vanished.

“Let’s return to Xue Luo Manor. I am now at the peak of this Small World. I should consider whether or not to pursue Ascension. What problems will I face if I choose to Ascend? Should we Ascend together, or should I bring them along? These are all issues. After you all return, continue to Cultivate diligently. If I Ascend, when we reach the new world, our overall combat strength won’t be too far behind,” Yu Xian said with a serious expression.

The accumulation within his body was growing more and more. He didn’t know if he might suddenly break through the peak and leave this void. Therefore, he had to properly consider the issues he just mentioned.

As for the Rouge List mentioned by Ning Zhongze and the others, if fate allowed him to encounter them, he wouldn’t refuse. But for now, he didn’t want to actively seek them out. He needed to focus more energy on Cultivation. He vaguely felt that if he were to Ascend, the new world wouldn’t be so simple.

Upon hearing this, the smile on Ning Zhongze’s face gradually faded, replaced by a look of gravity.

She knew Yu Xian was never one to speak without reason. Since he solemnly brought up the matter of Ascension, it meant the power within his body had reached a certain critical point, forcing him to start planning for the future.

“Ascension…” she softly repeated the two words, feeling a complex mix of emotions. She was proud that he could touch upon such a Realm, yet she also felt a hidden worry.

“Will taking everyone to Ascend together create significant obstacles?” Ning Zhongze asked, her gaze sweeping over The Women who were quietly looking at them not far away, her voice carrying a trace of undetectable tension.

She knew this question concerned not only Yu Xian alone but also the future of everyone present, including Yang Guo and the others.

“Even if I Ascend, if your Cultivation is insufficient, staying in the Small World to practice won’t have any effect. However, whether it’s you sisters or Yang Guo and the others, your current Cultivation is still too low. Forcibly taking you to Ascend might lead to you being directly crushed by the Law of the new world’s heaven and earth, leaving no chance for Reincarnation. If I let you stay in this Small World forever, Ascension loses its meaning. If I leave them in this world, I might not be able to return. Ascension isn’t like when we arrived in this world with a direct passage, allowing me to come and go as I please,” Yu Xian sighed.

No matter where he went, he needed his own force. Yang Guo and the others formed the composition of his own force, so if he were to Ascend, he had to take them with him!
