Chapter 512: Why Is There Such a Freak in This World!
by MachineSamurai9124Nangong Pushi wanted to take her revenge personally, so Yu Xian did not strike; he merely intercepted the man.
No matter how much Xie Guanying increased his speed or exhausted his efforts, he could not escape Yu Xian’s invisible control.
He was like a player overlooking a chessboard; no matter how the chess piece that was Xie Guanying lunged left and right, it remained unable to break free from the board’s boundaries.
The aura emanating from Yu Xian’s body was like a fine yet resilient net, firmly enveloping Xie Guanying within it.
Regardless of which direction the opponent turned, he felt a gentle yet irresistible force lightly redirecting his path, pulling him back into Yu Xian’s line of sight.
Xie Guanying was terrified to the core. He could clearly feel that every time he exerted himself to sprint, it was like a stone sinking into the ocean. That invisible force seemed weak, yet it always precisely throttled his escape route at the critical moment, rendering all his struggles futile.
He could even feel Yu Xian’s somewhat playful gaze, as if watching a farce whose ending was already known.
Why is there such a freak in this world! No matter how he calculated, he couldn’t figure it out! Dammit!
Xie Guanying knew he was completely unable to escape and finally came to a halt.
Yu Xian stood beside Nangong Pushi. “Go ahead, he can’t run.”
“Alright!” Nangong Pushi nodded. Without another word, she unsheathed her twin blades and charged at Xie Guanying.
The blade light was like snow, cutting through the air with a bone-chilling cold. Nangong Pushi’s figure was as fast as a ghost, every strike condensing years of her forbearance and hatred.
Although trapped, Xie Guanying was a top-tier Qi Refiner after all. In his haste, he sacrificed several Talismans, which transformed into layers of light shields in an attempt to resist.
However, Nangong Pushi’s blade momentum was incredibly fierce—an ultimate killing move that combined Southern Decree saber techniques with her own bitter cultivation. With several crisp ‘chi chi’ sounds, the Talisman light shields shattered upon impact.
She closed in, her twin blades crossing into a crucifix shape, slashing directly at Xie Guanying’s vitals. Wherever the blade wind passed, even the surrounding airflow seemed to be torn apart, carrying a heart-palpitating sound of breaking air.
Xie Guanying’s expression changed drastically. He was forced to abandon the thought of fleeing and quickly formed hand seals. A White Bowl appeared before him, followed by a faint phantom of Dragon Qi manifesting around his body.
The White Bowl was the source of Xie Guanying’s confidence and the core carrier of his path of Luck. It looked ordinary but actually contained immense energy, closely linked to Xie Guanying’s strength and destiny.
As soon as Xie Guanying brought out the White Bowl, Yu Xian knew its function. Before Xie Guanying could utilize it, Yu Xian pointed a sword finger directly at the bowl, sending a strand of Sword Qi toward it.
The Sword Qi tore through the air, moving so fast that Xie Guanying had no time to react. With a crisp ‘crack,’ a fissure instantly appeared on the White Bowl that seemingly contained endless Luck. The bowl’s body vibrated violently, and the phantom of Dragon Qi around him dimmed into nothingness. Subsequently, the entire bowl shattered into fragments and fell to the ground.
A sweetness hit the back of Xie Guanying’s throat as he spat out another mouthful of blood. He looked at the fragments on the ground in disbelief; this was his trump card, yet it had been so easily destroyed by the opponent.
Losing the enhancement of the White Bowl, his aura immediately withered. Nangong Pushi’s twin blades followed like a shadow, pressing toward his face with resolute killing intent.
A flash of despair crossed Xie Guanying’s eyes. He knew he was truly doomed this time and could only watch helplessly as Nangong Pushi’s blades fell toward him.
However, Nangong Pushi’s blades actually stopped an inch away from him. It wasn’t Nangong Pushi who stopped; her blades had struck a wall of Qi?
A thought instantly surged in Xie Guanying’s mind: someone had come to save him!
Nangong Pushi’s blades remained in front of Xie Guanying. She turned back to look at Yu Xian with surprise and confusion, because this Qi Wall had been released by Yu Xian!
“Husband…”
“He deserves to die, but he shouldn’t die at your hands!” As Yu Xian spoke, he waved his hand, and a strand of Sword Qi struck Xie Guanying directly between the eyes.
With a ‘puchi’ sound, Xie Guanying’s eyes widened in disbelief. A bloody hole appeared in his forehead, and blood meandered down his cheeks. The light in his eyes quickly dimmed, and his body slumped to the ground with a dull thud, showing no further signs of life.
Nangong Pushi’s hand holding the blades trembled slightly. Finally, he was dead! Her mother’s grudge was avenged!
Nangong Pushi looked at Xie Guanying’s corpse. Her twin blades dropped and stabbed into the ground as she also knelt. She wasn’t kneeling to Xie Guanying, but rather to comfort her mother’s spirit in heaven, having finally achieved vengeance.
The hatred and pain accumulated in her heart for years poured out at this moment like a flood breaking through a dam. Uncontrollable tears slid down, mixing with the dust and sweat on her face to form two clear tear tracks.
She knelt on the ground, her shoulders shaking slightly as suppressed sobs escaped her throat. It was a release, and also a liberation.
Yu Xian stood quietly behind her, not stepping forward to disturb her. He simply silently propped up an invisible barrier for her, isolating her from the surrounding wind and dust.
After a long while, Nangong Pushi finally recovered. As she made a move to stand up, a strong arm suddenly reached out to her side. She took his hand and was gently pulled up by Yu Xian.
Yu Xian didn’t ask questions; he merely used his thumb to wipe away the remaining tear stains on her cheeks, his movements so gentle as if afraid of disturbing something.
Nangong Pushi looked up at him. Though her eyes still had lingering red streaks, the previous madness and ferocity had faded, replaced by a settled calm and a faint, imperceptible sense of reliance.
She held Yu Xian’s hand back, the warmth of their palms meeting allowing her tense body to completely relax. “Husband, thank you!”
Yu Xian had stopped her from killing Xie Guanying because he didn’t want her to bear the sin of patricide. Her hatred for Xie Guanying was deep in her marrow, and personal revenge had been her obsession for years, but he was even more unwilling to see her ruin her own future for this man who was no longer fit to be a father.
Therefore, he chose to personally end Xie Guanying. He both avenged her blood feud and blocked that heavy sin for her, allowing her to cast off her shackles and no longer be trapped by the chains of hatred and filial status.
She understood Yu Xian’s painstaking care!
“Silly girl, why say thanks to your husband? Now your only remaining enemies are Wang Xianzhi and Tuoba Pusa. Wang Xianzhi is in Wudi City; we will head there next. I will surely help you drag out all your enemies one by one so you can take your revenge personally.” Yu Xian gently caressed Nangong Pushi’s beautiful face and spoke softly.
“Mhm, alright.” Nangong Pushi didn’t say thank you again, because she knew Yu Xian didn’t want to hear it.
“Husband, we aren’t in a hurry. None of them can escape,” Nangong Pushi added.
The grudge had to be avenged, but she also wanted to travel with her sisters. She couldn’t delay everyone’s itinerary just for her revenge.
Hearing the relief in her tone, the smile in Yu Xian’s eyes deepened. He reached out to ruffle the top of her hair. “I’ll listen to you. Wherever you want to go, I will accompany you—whether it’s to the ends of the earth or through mountains of blades and seas of fire.”
