Chapter 462: Stop, Let Go of My Son!
by MachineSamurai9124Upon learning that it wasn’t his father-in-law leading the troops, Yu Xian breathed a sigh of relief. With the army now led by the Red King’s confidants, many of his concerns were eliminated.
Yu Xian’s gaze narrowed slightly, and he continued to question Ji Xue, “Where is that forty-thousand-strong allied army now? Do we have a specific route of advance?”
Ji Xue took out a map from her robes and spread it on the table, pointing to a mark on it: “According to the latest news from Bai Xiao Hall, the allied forces have crossed the border and are gathering in North Li. They are currently advancing along the official road toward Xue Luo Manor, expected to arrive in ten days. They are heading straight for Xue Luo Manor, it seems they want a swift victory.”
“Ten days? That’s a bit late!” Yu Xian tapped the map lightly with his fingertip. He wished those people would come sooner so he could resolve things earlier. His main goal was to flatten the Land of the Rising Sun, not to waste time here grappling with the armies of these few nations.
“Xiao Se, how is your recovery going now?” Yu Xian looked at Xiao Se and asked.
“Master, I have completely recovered,” Xiao Se replied truthfully.
“Good. Then I will take you on a trip to Tianqi.” Yu Xian’s finger paused on the map, his gaze suddenly sharpening like a sword. “Since the Red King is so eager to die, we will grant his wish. We will set off immediately for Tianqi City and take his head directly!”
Hearing this, a fierce Battle Intent ignited in Xiao Se’s eyes.
“Tianqi City must be heavily guarded now, and the Red King must be surrounded by experts. Young Master, you must be extremely careful on this trip,” Hua Manlou reminded him softly.
“Rest assured, there should still be no one in this world who can stop me,” Yu Xian said lightly.
“Brother-in-law, can I come along?” Lei Wujie suddenly spoke up. He truly couldn’t feel at ease leaving Xiao Se to go back alone.
“And me! I’m going with Xiao Se too,” Si Kong Qianluo also stepped forward.
“With Master here, you two don’t need to worry. Just follow my Master’s arrangements,” Xiao Se said. He knew how dangerous Tianqi City was now, so he didn’t want his companions to risk danger for him. Moreover, with Yu Xian present, there was absolutely no need to worry.
Yu Xian could enter and leave the Imperial Palace freely; no one could stop him.
“Xiao Se! Brother-in-law…” Lei Wujie didn’t want to listen to Xiao Se and whined to Yu Xian instead.
“Xiao Se is right. You two should stay at Xue Luo Manor. Don’t become a burden to him,” Yu Xian also said.
Lei Wujie and Si Kong Qianluo wanted to say something more, but Yu Xian didn’t give them a chance to speak. He grabbed Xiao Se and vanished before everyone, leaving behind only a voice: “Immortal Master, please guard Xue Luo Manor for the time being.”
Zhang Sanfeng stroked his beard and chuckled: “Little friend, rest assured.”
“Brother-in-law!”
“Xiao Se!”
Lei Wujie and Si Kong Qianluo were furious, stamping their feet in anger that Yu Xian had suddenly taken Xiao Se away, but they knew they couldn’t catch up.
Carried by Yu Xian, Xiao Se only felt that the speed of their flight was incredibly fast—so fast that before he could react, so fast that he only felt the wind brushing past his ears, and then they were already above Tianqi City.
Yu Xian casually swept his Divine Sense and located the Red King’s whereabouts.
The Red King was not in the Imperial Palace but was indulging in pleasure at his own residence. He probably felt victory was certain, and the world was already in his grasp.
He was currently embracing several beauties, drinking and enjoying himself amidst song and dance, completely free from the tension of the impending great battle, as if the four-nation alliance was guaranteed to win and Xue Luo Manor was already his prize.
Yu Xian’s eyes turned cold, and he appeared directly before the Red King with Xiao Se.
Upon seeing two people suddenly appear before him, the hand the Red King had around a beauty stiffened abruptly. The smile on his face instantly froze, and he spilled most of the wine in his cup without noticing.
He stared at the two sudden arrivals in disbelief. Especially when he saw Xiao Se’s familiar face, his pupils contracted sharply, and in a mixture of shock and fury, he slammed the table and sprang up: “Xiao Chuhe? How are you here?”
Before his words finished, he sensed the invisible pressure emanating from the two people before him. Especially the young man standing beside Xiao Se, which made a chill rise from the depths of his heart, as if he were being stared at by a primordial beast, making it difficult even to breathe.
The surrounding beauties and dancers had already collapsed to the ground in fright, trembling.
Yu Xian reached out and made a slight grasping motion, and the Red King was lifted up by an invisible hand gripping his throat.
The Red King was now terrified out of his wits, his eyes instantly bloodshot. He felt how close death was! He realized this person could truly kill him with ease! He clawed at the invisible hand with both hands, trying to struggle, but he couldn’t break free no matter how hard he tried.
He didn’t want to die! Victory was within sight! He couldn’t die!
“Xiao Chuhe, only I can cure Father Emperor’s poison! If I die, the Father Emperor will also be beyond saving! You would be committing patricide! Furthermore, your good friend Wu Xin is also in my hands. If I die, he won’t live either!” The Red King, thinking quickly in desperation, frantically threw out the bargaining chips he currently held.
He understood Xiao Se very well, knowing that Xiao Se valued that so-called camaraderie the most, so he tried to use this to exchange for a slim chance of survival.
However, upon hearing this, Xiao Se’s eyes grew even colder. He looked at the Red King’s face, flushed from suffocation, and said without a trace of warmth in his voice: “You think using the Father Emperor and Wu Xin to threaten me will make me spare you? Red King, you are mistaken. The sins you have committed are already beyond what any condition can offset.”
Yu Xian’s fingertips exerted a slight force, and a crisp sound of grinding bones came from the Red King’s neck. His eyes filled with despair. He hadn’t expected Xiao Se to be so resolute, nor had he expected the means of this young man before him to be so ruthless.
“No… Don’t kill me… Adoptive Father… Adoptive Father…” The Red King struggled and begged for mercy, placing his last hope on his adoptive father, Luo Qingyang.
And Luo Qingyang appeared just in time, launching a full-power sword strike toward Yu Xian in an attempt to save the Red King. He clearly knew he was no match for Yu Xian, but for the sake of the Red King, he could only fight with all his might.
Yu Xian didn’t even turn his head. Luo Qingyang’s sword strike hit an invisible energy shield and was directly reflected back, striking Luo Qingyang himself. Luo Qingyang was instantly sent flying, crashing to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
The Red King hadn’t expected Yu Xian to be so strong. Luo Qingyang couldn’t even break through Yu Xian’s energy shield by a single fraction. That seemingly ethereal shield remained completely unmoved even under Luo Qingyang’s full-power sword strike, instead reflecting the entire force of the blow.
Even Luo Qingyang, a Sword Immortal, was shocked to the point that his Meridians felt like they were tearing apart, leaving him paralyzed on the ground, unable to rise.
The last glimmer of light in the Red King’s eyes completely extinguished. He looked at Luo Qingyang struggling and spitting blood, finally realizing that he had been utterly wrong from the very beginning. His proud reliance was nothing more than a fragile joke in the face of absolute power.
The sensation of suffocation at his neck grew stronger, and his consciousness gradually blurred. He could only watch blankly at Yu Xian’s calm eyes, which seemed to be looking at a dead object.
He was unwilling, but…
