Chapter Index

Although Li Hanyi was the Second City Lord of Xueyue City, she was not as familiar with every aspect of the city as Yin Luoxia was.

Most of her time was usually spent immersed in sword practice, and she was actually less familiar with the city’s bustling markets and local customs than Yin Luoxia.

Hearing Yin Luoxia currently introducing the good places in Xueyue City to The Women, she stood quietly to the side, occasionally adding a sentence or two describing the snowy scenery of Cangshan or the moonlit waters of Erhai, with a trace of attachment to this land in her eyes.

Yu Xian looked at Li Hanyi’s appearance—eager to participate yet slightly awkward—and couldn’t help finding it amusing. He walked forward, gently took Li Hanyi’s hand, and whispered, “It’s fine. With Fairy Luoxia as our guide, we will certainly see all the beautiful sights of Xueyue City.”

Li Hanyi felt the warmth coming from her hand, her cheeks flushed slightly, and she nodded. The subtle unease she felt from being unfamiliar with the surroundings dissipated considerably.

Yin Luoxia saw this scene, a hint of a smile and a hint of envy flashing in her eyes.

With Yin Luoxia as the guide, Yu Xian and his group gained a more thorough understanding of the customs and culture of Xueyue City. Every place they visited, whether adults or children, enjoyed themselves immensely.

After a full day, everyone happily visited many places. By the time they returned to Li Hanyi’s residence, they all felt a bit tired. However, Huang Rong, A Zhu, and the others habitually prepared dinner themselves and invited Yin Luoxia to stay and join them.

Yin Luoxia agreed, but no banquet was complete without wine. So, she decided to go fetch some wine; Xueyue City had many famous liquors.

“I will go with you,” Yu Xian said as he stood up when he saw Yin Luoxia preparing to fetch wine.

“This…” Yin Luoxia wanted to refuse. It was just fetching some wine; she could go by herself.

“Let’s go together.” Yu Xian maintained a gentle smile, but it was the kind that brooked no refusal.

Yin Luoxia finally could only nod and made a gesture inviting him to lead the way.

The two walked side-by-side on the street. Night had quietly enveloped everything, and the lanterns hanging under the eaves cast a warm yellow glow, stretching their shadows long.

Yin Luoxia turned her head to glance at Yu Xian beside her. In the moonlight, his profile was clearly defined, his expression calm, as if nothing in the world could stir his heart.

She coughed lightly, breaking the silence: “Young Master Yu, what kind of wine do you usually like to drink?”

Yu Xian paused his steps slightly, turned to look at her, a hint of a smile in his eyes: “I usually like the wine brewed by Sister Rong and the others themselves.”

Upon hearing this, a flicker of curiosity crossed Yin Luoxia’s eyes: “Sister Rong and the others brew their own wine?”

“Yes. Sister Rong likes to tinker with food and drink, and moreover, The Women in our home are rarely content without some wine most of the time.” When speaking of The Women in his household, Yu Xian’s face was filled with a gentle smile.

“Sister Rong’s Peach Blossom Wine is sweet and refreshing, carrying a faint floral fragrance. Mo Chou’s sour-sweet plum wine has a lingering aftertaste that is quite potent, offering a unique flavor when drunk. And A Zhu, after learning a few tricks from Sister Rong, can even brew a Osmanthus Wine carrying the scent of the Jiangnan water towns…” When he spoke of these things, his tone was full of contentment with his home life, as if those wine jars contained not just liquid, but the small moments of warmth from ordinary days.

Yin Luoxia listened, captivated. She gazed at the undisguised happiness shining in Yu Xian’s eyes and suddenly felt a sense of longing. It turned out that such a commanding figure also possessed such an earthy, domestic side.

A grown man constantly mentioning his wife and daughters—to outsiders, it might seem trivial, but when spoken by Yu Xian, it was filled with a deep love for life and cherish for his family.

Yin Luoxia’s heart stirred. She realized that a true powerhouse was not just about cold sword edges and aloof figures; they could also possess such tender and delicate attachments.

She suddenly felt that the night in Xueyue City seemed a little warmer because of this conversation.

“Master!” A young man’s voice called out from behind Yu Xian and Yin Luoxia.

Yu Xian and Yin Luoxia stopped simultaneously and turned around, seeing a strikingly handsome youth. His complexion was pale, his features exquisite, and his bearing outstanding. His pair of phoenix eyes held a hint of coquettishness, and his brow occasionally revealed a trace of impatience.

Yu Xian’s brow twitched slightly. The one who called Yin Luoxia ‘Master’ could only be Luo Mingxuan. A Rebellious Disciple?

“Mingxuan? Why are you here?” Yin Luoxia was somewhat surprised to see her apprentice.

Luo Mingxuan walked up to Yin Luoxia in a few strides, his face bearing his usual air of casualness, but his gaze unconsciously flickered towards Yu Xian on the side, carrying the curiosity and scrutiny unique to a young man.

“Master, I just returned from the sword practice grounds in the south of the city. I heard you were at the residence of the Second City Lord Li, so I thought I’d come find you. I didn’t expect to run into you here… and this Young Master?” As he spoke, his gaze swept over Yu Xian, seemingly trying to discern something from the other’s calm expression, but he only caught a faint, elusive smile.

This made him frown slightly, sensing a dangerous aura.

Yin Luoxia glared at him helplessly, “You’re already so old, yet still so rash. This is Young Master Yu; do not be rude.”

She deliberately emphasized the words ‘Young Master Yu,’ clearly intending to remind her apprentice of the other’s status.

However, Luo Mingxuan seemed not to grasp the deeper meaning behind his Master’s words. Instead, he stepped closer, cupped his hands with a grin, and said, “So it is Young Master Yu, I have long admired your name.”

Clearly, Luo Mingxuan did not know what Yin Luoxia’s ‘Young Master Yu’ represented, and he was covertly directing hostility toward Yu Xian.

Yu Xian looked at the young man before him with interest, did not respond, but instead turned to Yin Luoxia with a smile full of amusement.

“I apologize, Young Master Yu. My apprentice is willful and did not intend to offend you.”, Yin Luoxia quickly apologized to Yu Xian.

She also noticed Luo Mingxuan’s unusual behavior. The usual Luo Mingxuan was not like this. Why did she feel a whiff of gunpowder now?

“Master!” Luo Mingxuan was very displeased that his Master was apologizing. He hadn’t even done anything yet!

“Mingxuan, if there is nothing else, you should go back first.” Yin Luoxia was truly worried that Luo Mingxuan would offend Yu Xian.

Although after spending the day together, she felt Yu Xian was a person of gentle demeanor, he was ultimately an existence that commanded the awe of many Masters in the world. Luo Mingxuan’s presumptuous attitude, if it truly angered the other party, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Her tone carried a hint of unquestionable authority, but her eyes quietly signaled Luo Mingxuan not to cause trouble.

When treated so sternly by his Master, Luo Mingxuan’s smile froze slightly.

He looked at Yin Luoxia’s tense profile and then at Yu Xian’s perpetually unruffled expression. Though unwilling in his heart, he dared not openly defy his Master’s wishes.

He could only let out a resentful “Oh,” and before leaving, he did not forget to glare fiercely at Yu Xian, his eyes full of the stubbornness and dissatisfaction of youth.
