Chapter Index

“Sigh, how boring. Husband, send me back.” Seeing that Yu Xian hadn’t immediately won over Zhang Sanniang, Yao Yue lost interest in staying outside with him any longer.

“Alright.” Yu Xian had only acted on a whim earlier; now that half his wish was fulfilled, since Yao Yue wanted to go back, he sent her back.

“Husband, go for it! Try to make Sanniang one of our sisters! Long’er, why don’t you come back with me?” Before leaving, Yao Yue didn’t forget to encourage Yu Xian.

“Alright!” Little Dragon Girl answered very decisively.

    Yu Xian:…

Were these two creating an opportunity for him and Zhang Sanniang? Regardless, Yu Xian casually sent them both back to the Small World.

“They…?” Seeing two living people vanish instantly before her eyes, Zhang Sanniang couldn’t help but feel a wave of panic.

“They went home,” Yu Xian said with a smile, without explaining further.

Zhang Sanniang felt a chill in her heart. Yao Yue had appeared out of nowhere, and now Yao Yue and Little Dragon Girl had suddenly vanished. Could Yu Xian be capable of some sort of sorcery?

“Young Master Yu…” Zhang Sanniang hesitated to speak.

“Where is Sanniang headed? Why are you alone in these mountains?” Yu Xian changed the subject and asked.

Hearing this, Zhang Sanniang’s expression darkened slightly before returning to normal. She said, “To be honest, I am traveling to find someone. This person is vital to me; I must find him.”

Yu Xian was slightly taken aback and asked, “Yan Nantian?”

Damn! How could a beauty like Zhang Sanniang be wasted on a brute like Yan Nantian? Thinking about Zhang Sanniang’s obsession with Yan Nantian, Yu Xian felt it was like a flower stuck in cow dung; he couldn’t let that happen!

Yu Xian complained inwardly but remained calm on the surface, though a slight twitch of his eyebrow betrayed a hint of emotion.

Seeing Yu Xian’s reaction, Zhang Sanniang wasn’t angry. She simply sighed softly and said, “Young Master Yu is quite straightforward. Indeed, I am searching for Yan Nantian. However, I wonder how you know of him and why you have such an expression?”

“Don’t take offense, Sanniang. I know a bit about your situation. But I feel that although Yan Nantian is a hero, his temperament is coarse. He doesn’t seem to be a good match for a peerless beauty like you,” Yu Xian said very candidly.

Zhang Sanniang was slightly stunned. Recalling what Yao Yue had just said, her face couldn’t help but turn red.

“Young Master Yu is quite interesting. How can matters of the heart be easily judged by outsiders? Hero Yan is upright and chivalrous. I have admired him for a long time and am naturally willing,” Zhang Sanniang said, hoping to use this to reject Yu Xian.

“If Yan Nantian were old, ugly, and had lost his Martial Arts by now, would you still like him?” Yu Xian thought about how Yan Nantian should still be in Eren Valley.

Although Little Fish knew about his origins, Yu Xian hadn’t seen him bring the man out yet; he was likely still staying in Eren Valley for treatment.

“Why do you say that, Young Master Yu?” Displeasure appeared on Zhang Sanniang’s face.

“Because I know where he is, and I know his current condition,” Yu Xian said nonchalantly.

“You know, Young Master Yu?” Zhang Sanniang was overjoyed.

She had come out this time only because of rumors that someone had seen Yan Nantian; it wasn’t certain, but she still wanted to make the trip. She just hadn’t expected Yu Xian to actually know Yan Nantian’s whereabouts.

“Young Master Yu, I hope you can tell me Hero Yan’s whereabouts. I would be eternally grateful.” A glimmer of hope shone in Zhang Sanniang’s eyes as she stared intently at Yu Xian, as if afraid of missing a single word he said.

Yu Xian smiled slightly but said nothing.

Zhang Sanniang was stunned, then realized that Yu Xian was negotiating terms with her.

She wondered to herself, what exactly did this Yu Xian want? Did he want her to agree to some condition before he would reveal Yan Nantian’s whereabouts?

“What will it take for you to tell me, Young Master Yu? Please speak freely. As long as it’s within my power, I will not refuse,” Zhang Sanniang said with a firm expression.

“Is your devotion to Yan Nantian truly so unwavering?” Yu Xian asked instead of answering.

Zhang Sanniang fell silent upon hearing this.

“Yan Nantian should be in Eren Valley. I’ll accompany you!” Yu Xian didn’t press Zhang Sanniang further. Since he had no other objective, he would just go with her and let feelings develop over time.

Hearing this, Zhang Sanniang felt a warmth in her heart. She knew Yu Xian didn’t actually want her to pay a price; he was just testing the depth of her feelings for Yan Nantian. A sense of gratitude toward Yu Xian welled up, but at the same time, a hint of doubt arose in her heart.

“Young Master Yu, what is the connection between you and Hero Yan?” Zhang Sanniang couldn’t help but ask.

“There’s no connection. I simply want to go with you. After all, Eren Valley is no good place. Even Yan Nantian fell there back then; as a woman going alone, I’m not at ease,” Yu Xian said calmly.

Yu Xian’s answer sent a warm current through Zhang Sanniang’s heart. She knew Yu Xian was interested in her, but he wasn’t a frivolous person. The concern and protection revealed in his proposal gave her a new understanding of this man she had just met.

She took a deep breath, calmed her emotions, and then said slowly, “Young Master Yu, I appreciate your kindness. Eren Valley is indeed dangerous, but Hero Yan means a great deal to me, and I must find him myself. I won’t trouble you.”

Although she knew Yu Xian meant well, she didn’t want to have too many entanglements with this man.

“I’m going with you.” Yu Xian simply repeated the sentence. Though his tone was gentle, it carried an unquestionable attitude.

    “Young Master Yu…”

“I’m going with you.” Still the same simple words.

Zhang Sanniang sighed. “In that case, I shall trouble you, Young Master Yu.”

Seeing Yu Xian’s determination, Zhang Sanniang hesitated but understood that further refusal would likely be futile. She nodded slightly, her gaze filled with complex emotions—helplessness at Yu Xian’s persistence and apprehension about the unknown journey ahead.

“Then I will rely on your care along the way, Young Master Yu,” Zhang Sanniang said softly, her voice carrying a trace of imperceptible vulnerability.

She knew that with Yu Xian’s company, the journey might be less dangerous, but at the same time, she wasn’t sure if this companionship would bring more entanglements.

Yu Xian smiled slightly, a smile filled with confidence and composure.

“Don’t worry, Sanniang. With me here, I won’t let you come to any harm.” His tone was firm and powerful, as if giving her a silent promise.

The two looked at each other for a moment. Zhang Sanniang turned to lead her horse; she didn’t mount it but chose to walk alongside Yu Xian, slowly heading toward Eren Valley.

When Yu Xian was with Little Dragon Girl, they hadn’t been riding, so now there was only Zhang Sanniang’s horse. Yu Xian’s lips curled into a smirk as he leaped onto the horse first, then pulled Zhang Sanniang up with a backhand tug, landing her right in his arms.

    “Ah… Young Master Yu, don’t!”

    “Hyah!”
