Chapter Index

“Young Master Yu, what do you mean by that?” Hua Wuchang asked about the statement Yu Xian made regarding his feud with Jiang Biehe.

He had gone over it in his mind several times but still couldn’t figure out how he could possibly have a grudge against Jiang Biehe.

Jiang Yuyan looked at Hua Wuchang in surprise. Did this person really not know that this man was her father?

However, Jiang Yuyan tugged at the clothing covering her body. This Young Master in black not only saved her but was also very considerate, warming her heart.

So, he probably wasn’t lying. This Young Master in white likely truly held a grudge against her father, Jiang Biehe. She believed what Yu Xian said.

“Her father has a blood feud with you—the killing of his parents,” Yu Xian said, observing the reactions of the two, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes.

You two are mortal enemies; there is no possibility between you!

“What? You know who my parents are?” Hua Wuchang was merely puzzled at first, but upon hearing Yu Xian’s words, he instantly became agitated.

He grew up in Yihua Palace and did not know who his parents were. However, since Yu Xian was acquainted with his two Masters, it wasn’t strange that Yu Xian knew about his origins! Therefore, when Yu Xian said this, Hua Wuchang believed him.

“Of course!” Yu Xian nodded with certainty.

“Can you tell me about my background?” Hua Wuchang looked pleadingly at Yu Xian. This was the first time in his life he had heard anything about his parentage, and he desperately wanted to know.

“Telling you isn’t impossible, but you have to promise me one condition,” Yu Xian said with a smile.

“What condition?” Hearing there was a condition, Hua Wuchang was even more certain that what Yu Xian said was true. Otherwise, no one would help you for no reason.

“Take me to Yihua Palace. I want to see Yao Yue,” Yu Xian stated quite frankly.

This immediately made Hua Wuchang wary, and he involuntarily took a step back, creating some distance between himself and Yu Xian.

“Do you have a feud with my Great Master?” Hua Wuchang asked.

Yu Xian shook his head. “No enmity or grievance.”

“Then why are you looking for my Great Master?” Hua Wuchang dared not relax at all, knowing that Yu Xian’s cultivation was far superior to his own.

“Alas, you young man, a man, a handsome man, looking for a beautiful woman—what else could it be for?” Yu Xian spread his hands.

“Ah? You… between you and my Great Master…” Hua Wuchang could hardly imagine it. That was his Great Master! Palace Mistress Yao Yue!

Judging by Yu Xian’s appearance, it seemed there was something between him and his Great Master.

Is this… is this something he should inquire about?

“Your Master, alas…” Yu Xian let out a feigned sigh of sorrow.

Yu Xian’s sigh startled Hua Wuchang greatly. Looking at Yu Xian, it really seemed like there was something going on with Yao Yue!

Hua Wuchang swallowed and asked, “That Young Master Yu, are you going to Yihua Palace to… with my Great Master?”

“Naturally, I want to rekindle our old flame. You wouldn’t want your Master to be unhappy, would you?” Yu Xian looked at Hua Wuchang with a suspicious gaze.

“Ah? No, I don’t,” Hua Wuchang quickly denied it.

It was just that he couldn’t understand why Yao Yue hated men the most. How could she have any entanglement with Yu Xian? And it seemed like a deep entanglement. Could it be? Was his Great Master so hateful toward men because of Yu Xian?

If that were the case, then indeed, the one who tied the bell must be the one to untie it.

However, he still didn’t dare to take Yu Xian back.

“So, will you take me to Yihua Palace or not?” Yu Xian asked directly.

    “I…” Hua Wuchang hesitated.

“If you don’t take me, you won’t know your own background. Yihua Palace doesn’t strictly require you to take me; I’m just giving you an opportunity. Since you find it hard to make a choice, I shall take my leave,” Yu Xian used retreat as a tactic.

“No, Young Master Yu, I… I want to know my background. Please tell me, Young Master Yu,” Hua Wuchang finally made his choice.

After all, Yu Xian going to Yihua Palace was not detrimental to Yao Yue; he just wanted to rekindle their romance.

If Great Master could find happiness, she probably wouldn’t blame him.

“Then you agree to take me to Yihua Palace?” A triumphant smile appeared on Yu Xian’s lips.

    Hua Wuchang nodded.

“Good. After I settle this young lady, we will go to Yihua Palace.” Yu Xian shifted his attention back to Jiang Yuyan.

Jiang Yuyan had gathered some information from the conversation between Yu Xian and Hua Wuchang—that this Young Master Yu seemed to favor Young Master Hua’s Master and wanted Young Master Hua to take him to find his Master.

For some reason, Jiang Yuyan suddenly felt a sense of loss.

“Miss Yu Yan, what are your plans?” Yu Xian called out when he saw Jiang Yuyan spacing out.

Hearing Yu Xian call her name, Jiang Yuyan snapped back to attention. “I… I want to find my father, Young Master. Do you know where my father is?”

“Oh, you want to find your father? Even knowing that once you go, you will be abused by your stepmother, suffer hardships, and your father will cowardly refuse to speak up for you?” Yu Xian looked at Jiang Yuyan and said.

“Huh? Young Master, why do you say that?” Jiang Yuyan looked at Yu Xian, confused as to why he would say she would encounter such things after finding her father.

“Your father, Jiang Biehe, whose original name was Jiang Qin, was the page boy of the ‘Number One Handsome Man Under Heaven,’ Jiang Feng. Jiang Feng treated him like a sworn brother.

However, Jiang Qin betrayed Jiang Feng’s whereabouts to the Jianghu villains, the Twelve Stars, for wealth and status, directly leading to the deaths of Jiang Feng and his wife.

Afterward, to evade the pursuit of Jiang Feng’s sworn brother, Yan Nantian, he plotted to lure Yan Nantian into Eren Valley, causing him to be severely injured.

After committing these crimes, Jiang Qin absconded with Jiang Feng’s family fortune, changed his name to Jiang Biehe, and disguised himself as the chivalrous ‘Jiangnan Hero’ in the Jiangnan region,” Yu Xian briefly introduced Jiang Biehe.

He didn’t really want Jiang Yuyan to find Jiang Biehe, as going there would only lead to abuse, and she might directly turn evil.

Upon hearing Yu Xian’s words, Jiang Yuyan staggered, nearly falling over. She never imagined that the father she regarded as a great hero was someone who sold out his Master for glory.

    This… this isn’t true!

“Jiang Biehe married Madam Liu, the adopted daughter of a eunuch named Liu Xi in the court. You also have an older sister named Jiang Yufeng.

Because Jiang Biehe fears Liu Xi, he also fears the arrogant and domineering Madam Liu. Madam Liu is unlikely to accept you, an ‘illegitimate child,’ and Jiang Biehe will not speak up for you either.

If you go… hehe, the result is predictable. Do you still want to go?” Yu Xian looked into Jiang Yuyan’s eyes and said.

“Young Master… how does Young Master know all this? Is all of this true?” After listening, Jiang Yuyan couldn’t help but tremble.

“I have a slight understanding of the Heavenly Secrets, knowing some people’s past and future,” Yu Xian bluffed.

“Heavenly Secrets?” Jiang Yuyan murmured upon hearing this.

“If you don’t believe me, you can still go find your father. Then you will know the truth,” Yu Xian said.

“I believe what Young Master says, but I… I still want to go find my father. At least, to see him once,” Jiang Yuyan said firmly.

Yu Xian gave Jiang Yuyan a smile. “No problem, I can send you. If you suffer any grievances in the Jiang family, come find me at Manduo Manor. My name is Yu Xian, Beyond the Heavens, Yu Xian.”
