    What is efficiency?

Completing a task in fifteen minutes is called efficiency. Little Weir didn’t go home, nor did he return to his residence in the Yorozuya. He immediately began the translation work in the ground floor lobby. The material consisted of two animal hide scrolls, and besides the images, the remaining text was not extensive. After briefly scanning the content, Little Weir realized that his previous lack of attention to this item was regrettable. Even though it had already been sacrificed to the god of wisdom—oh, the current demon god of wisdom—he truly hadn’t looked at it closely or thought about it.

Sacrifice to the God of Death: Soul, Bloodline, and Hell Magic Power. The God of Death Lamode actually publicly offered bounties for Hell Creatures all over the world. This couldn’t be described as simple affection. Little Weir realized he still didn’t understand the God of Death Lamode thoroughly enough. Perhaps he was a very complex person, or perhaps a very simple person, whose complex environment led to complex ways of dealing with the world. Who knew?

He was merely a translator, and it was best not to inject his personal subjective feelings. Little Weir always maintained a sense of reverence for the Divine, even if that Divine being had fallen—well, perhaps it had fallen.

He carefully weighed every word and sentence, ensuring the overall meaning remained unchanged while striving to maintain the tone and rhetoric of the ancient era, even though the script was now modern text. He finished the translation in ten minutes, spent another five minutes on simple polishing, completing the entire process in just fifteen minutes. Then, he submitted the task and waited for verification.

“Finished? A task worth fifty gold coins is done just like that?” The Beast Tamer and Cat Girl were dumbfounded. They looked at the two documents in confusion. The ancient text looked like reading heavenly script, and while they basically recognized every word in the modern text version, when put together, it felt extremely obscure and difficult to understand, leaving them utterly confused and lost. The two immediately felt defeated and retreated.

The Old Painter took the document, glanced at it casually, and revealed a faint smile. He meaningfully looked at Little Weir and nodded slightly, highly satisfied with Little Wei’s little trick: it was fine to work publicly without secrecy, but “my results are still something you cannot learn,” yet it didn’t prevent the high-level intellectuals among the Church’s upper echelons from understanding. This Little Fellow was indeed very clever. Seeing the Beast Tamer and Cat Girl looking utterly defeated, Senior Knight Moli was also quite curious. She leaned over to look, and a few minutes later, she wore a similarly incredulous expression, starting to doubt her own intelligence.

Now, the Singer, Ice Block, and Black Merchant also became interested. They considered themselves relatively knowledgeable people, but when they received the translated text, the large number of obscure yet impressive terms made them feel as if they and the Scholar did not live in the same world. They knew every single character, but when linked together, it was utterly confusing and incomprehensible. Where exactly was the problem? They vaguely sensed that the document discussed religious sacrifices, but they couldn’t connect some of the descriptions and referential terms. The word “He” (He) also appeared very frequently, yet they didn’t know which Great One was being referred to.

“Mhm, the wording is beautiful, the sentences are fluid, and it possesses great aesthetic beauty. Scholar, you have the talent to become a Poet.” The Singer himself was a wandering Bard, but compared to the ancient text in this document, the poems he had learned…

…were simply vernacular. The difference was too great. Was this what they called a Scholar’s writing? It was truly extraordinary.

“Hey, are you sure that submitting a document like this won’t get it sent back?” The Black Merchant felt his head aching. If he had to deal with this kind of stuff every day, he’d have a short life.

“There are two extremely profound types of Sorcery in the world called Omniscience and Language Mastery, which are aimed at powerful, highly knowledgeable Wizards. I am striving hard for this goal.” Little Weir was not modest this time. These two types of Sorcery were indeed very profound, belonging to the scope that only Formal Wizards could study, and they also had different levels of proficiency.

The Flower Protector was fiddling with the seeds in his hand when he suddenly realized everyone was looking at him. After a moment’s thought, he immediately understood and gently shook his head: “I know my Aptitude is limited; I can’t even achieve mastery in one field, let alone Omniscience. Such freaks are too different from us ordinary people; you can’t lump them together.” Although the Flower Protector admired Little Weir, he wasn’t jealous. He had seen plenty of Geniuses in the Kendall Family and had even met several Formal Wizards. If he were prone to jealousy, he would have been consumed by envy long ago. It was precisely because of this positive mindset that he was chosen as Young Miss Moli’s supporter at the Yorozuya, which must be a large part of the reason. After all, the Yorozuya accepts some Newcomers, and these Newcomers are invariably relatively young and extremely outstanding—at least outstanding in certain aspects. If they harbored jealousy, they could easily spoil things.

“That’s right. So-called Scholars are Academic Tyrants who have Advanced, belonging to the Ranks of monsters from the very start. You really can’t lump them together. If they advance to Sage, they become monsters among monsters, existences that ordinary people cannot comprehend.” Senior Knight Moli agreed. Speaking of which, her Niece Lilith could barely be counted as a little monster, especially with the help of the Prodigy Weil. Her monster Rank had improved significantly. After achieving Junior Knight, her speed of strength improvement had not decreased; instead, it accelerated. Not only in Knight Cultivation, but her Wizard Cultivation had also improved greatly, to the point where she was now advising Senior Knight Moli on Wizard Cultivation, which made Senior Knight Moli lose a lot of Face. What was even more embarrassing was that it took her a long time to accept the things Lilith said bit by bit, and when the two Little Fellows discussed Wizard Cultivation issues together, she felt utterly confused, as if listening to heavenly script. They were clearly both Newcomers, so why was the difference so huge?

“Since it’s still early, I plan to find the cat abuser first. Who is interested in coming along for fun? First, let me state that the reward for this task is not much, only twenty gold coins. After half is handed over to the Yorozuya, only ten remain. If too many people come, there might not be enough to share. Also, Big Sister Moli volunteered to go supervise, so she is not included in the distribution pool.” Little Weir directly stripped Senior Knight Moli of her distribution rights. Who told her to snatch the task first?

“I’ll go! Kid, don’t push it!” Senior Knight Moli feigned outrage. “I am a Senior Knight, a Senior Knight with Bloodline Awakening, and you dare to…”

“You could have taken the mission yourself, but you didn’t, so everything must follow the rules. Of course, you can choose not to follow along.” Little Weir cornered Senior Knight Moli. After all, for his first mission executed outside, theoretically, an Expert must accompany the team. Furthermore, Senior Knight Moli had been entrusted by her best friend, Mojeis, to look after him, so how could she possibly let him venture out alone? This scoundrel was definitely seeking revenge!

“Anyone who abuses cats is my enemy. Count me in for catching the culprit.” The Cat Girl truly loved cats, or rather, was grateful to them. While she was wandering, she nearly froze to death in the winter, but a group of stray cats warmed her with their bodies and saved her. Since then, the Cat Girl had grown to love cats more and more. Most of the money she earned was spent on buying food and feeding stray cats everywhere. She made the Yorozuya her home, ate and lived there normally, and chose durable, wear-resistant clothes, never pursuing luxury unless required by a mission. Consequently, she remained penniless, which showed how much she invested in this area.

“I’m quite good at tracking. I really liked the gift the Scholar gave me yesterday, so count me in for this mission too.” The Police Dog was the best tracker in the entire Yorozuya. He had carefully researched the gift Little Weir gave him afterward. This type of magic rune equipment, especially such sophisticated and complex gear, started at a price of at least two thousand gold coins per piece. Not to mention that this item was actually an antique; five thousand gold coins might not even be enough to secure it. This favor was too heavy; he had to show his appreciation, or he wouldn’t be able to live with himself.

Strange Strength Loli pulled on Little Weir’s sleeve without speaking. Little Weir immediately understood. He ruffled her brown hair and said softly, “This time, the pursuit of the culprit relies mainly on speed, so it’s not suitable for you. My Youth Activity Center will be finished soon, and the basement needs some decoration. That’s heavy labor. Can you help me?”

Strange Strength Loli nodded, let go of his sleeve, and obediently sat down on the side. Little Weir couldn’t help but smile. This Little Fellow was truly simple-minded but very cute. He casually handed her a lollipop, causing Strange Strength Loli’s Face to immediately light up.

“loli con!” Senior Knight Moli was the first to speak.

“He is a loli con!” The Cat Girl was quite dissatisfied that Little Weir didn’t approach a mature beauty like herself, instead preferring to hang out with Little Luo.li, and immediately complained.

“He is definitely a genuine loli con!” The Singer said with a lewd expression, giving a thumbs-up.

“The Boss is not a loli con! It’s just that the Boss happens to have a thing for loli.” The Beast Tamer quickly defended his Boss, knowing that this person was his benefactor, who not only paid him a high salary but also gave him the chance to perform on stage—which was absolutely his greatest aspiration.

“Slandering the Boss? Half a month’s salary deducted for each of you.” Little Weir said expressionlessly. The Singer and the Beast Tamer wailed in unison, hurriedly grabbing his leg and sincerely admitting their mistake.

“Boss, I was wrong. The Boss doesn’t like loli at all. There’s no such thing as a loli con.” The Singer sincerely amended his statement. Couldn’t he just stop mentioning the three words “loli con”?

“Bang!” Strange Strength Loli’s fist landed on the Singer’s eye socket, and a brand new Half-Panda was born.

The Beast Tamer looked at Strange Strength Loli, then looked at Little Weir, and carefully asked, “Boss, what is the correct thing for me to say? loli con, yes or no?”

Little Weir slapped his forehead. It was normal for this scoundrel to struggle; with that IQ, he was hopeless! Little Weir pointed to the silent Ice Block next to him. The Beast Tamer paused, then suddenly realized: “So the Boss is an Ice Block Con!”

“Bang!” This was a punch from Ice Block. The Beast Tamer fell to the ground and formed the Half-Panda Alliance with the Singer.

“I was telling you to shut up! I’ll let it go this time, but if you do it again, I’ll deduct a month’s salary, understood?” Little Weir was truly helpless regarding his comprehension skills and could only spell it out directly. The Beast Tamer and the Singer nodded repeatedly, and the surrounding crowd burst into laughter. However, Little Weir understood: the Beast Tamer genuinely struggled with communication, while the Singer was deliberately teasing him, aiming to have a laugh and help him integrate better into the Yorozuya community.
