Chapter 161: Yorozuya Public Property (Part 2)
by Diswa“You mean the original owner? That old Mandello guy who swore he’d buy back the opera house at its original price, after enjoying some pastoral life, gave half his funds to his children and then lived a leisurely retirement. Once he let go of his obsession, his mind immediately cleared up a lot. Now, even if Senior Knight Molly offered to sell it to him at a 10% discount, he wouldn’t buy it.”
“Buy it back and then sell it at a 10% discount?” Senior Knight Molly felt she shouldn’t lose out; that 10% was her hard-earned fee. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out in the end, and the books still recorded the Sistine Opera House at a discounted price of four thousand gold coins. Due to the Soul Singer incident, Molly herself handled the matter for the All-Purpose House, so half of it belonged to her, and the other half to the All-Purpose House. Senior Knight Molly stated that she knew nothing about performing and wanted to transfer all of it to the All-Purpose House in exchange for money, but the old painter vetoed it, stating that everyone needed to eat. As the boss of the All-Purpose House, you couldn’t let everyone collectively starve, could you?
“So, what are your thoughts now?” Seeing Senior Knight Molly’s conflicted expression, Little Will knew that this female knight really wanted to get rid of this burden.
“Internal price, four thousand gold coins, and this opera house will be completely yours. Don’t tell me you don’t have it; Mazes told me that the millennium-old antique gold coins you got from the Other Space (different dimension) are worth over a hundred thousand gold coins. This is still the profit after discounting due to the large quantity; if sold individually, two hundred thousand gold coins would be no problem.” Molly directly betrayed her best friend, as it was the truth anyway. However, this amount wasn’t told to her by Mazes, but by her brother, Wright. Little Will had entrusted these gold coins to his family for handling, and based on Molly’s understanding of Little Will, this little guy must still have quite a bit, and he definitely wouldn’t release all of them at once.
Little Will thought carefully; this industry seemed to have some potential, but it required major renovations and couldn’t be completed by himself alone. He would also need the help of the All-Purpose House and the Kendall family. However, these were all negotiable, and a win-win situation shouldn’t be a big problem.
“An internal price of four thousand gold coins is indeed a good deal, but that opera house is really rundown. Renovating it will cost at least one to two thousand gold coins, and potentially three to five thousand might not even be enough.” Little Will was muttering and calculating, when Senior Knight Molly suddenly showed a suspicious expression. This shrewd little guy would never do useless work or a losing business. Could this opera house actually make a big profit? His calculations just now definitely exceeded five thousand gold coins, and it might even require an investment of seven or eight thousand gold coins, just for an old, declining opera house?
“What do you plan to do with it, kid?” Senior Knight Molly asked cautiously.
“Currently, I have two ideas. First, make do with what we have and open a monster cottage, creating small rooms filled with various monster models, open to the public for a fee. It would mainly attract children and young people for a monster adventure, and also sell some hero costumes and such. The Sistine Opera House has enough space, and there’s also an upper floor with noble boxes. A monster cottage would definitely be super-sized. For the first three to five days, or even half a month, it would be free for junior college students, and half-price for senior college students. After the official opening, prices would return to normal. I would personally lead my schoolmates to experience it, and I believe it would quickly gain a reputation, so we wouldn’t have to worry about business.” Little Will hesitated slightly here, “The advantage of this is low investment and quick results, but there’s also a disadvantage, which is the easy accumulation of negative emotions, such as fear.”
“Is there more? Is there more?” Senior Knight Molly thought carefully and realized this was indeed a good idea, but the last problem wasn’t too big of an issue. They could just invite priests and clerics from the Church of the Goddess of Dawn to visit every month. A few large-scale divine spells would eliminate any negative emotions.
“I actually lean more towards another idea: a Youth Activity Center and Art Entertainment Center.” After Little Will proposed a concept, he briefly explained: “The main building will maintain its original style, renovated to be as beautiful as possible. A sufficiently large basement will be excavated to build activity venues. I know some very interesting sports suitable for teenagers that can be held there. That would be the activity center. The above-ground part would serve as the art entertainment center. This would require singers and animal trainers to help, and I would be the main attraction, performing interesting shows for teenagers to attract their attention, then focusing on pet sales. The pet mice and parrots favored by animal trainers are excellent commodities. Singers would only be an add-on, but with my magic shaping talent, all performances would definitely be exquisite.” At this point, Little Will’s magic book slowly opened, and with a slight flick of his finger, a thumb-sized red fireball flew out, followed by another, eventually forming a small string of fireballs. Each was so weak it wouldn’t even hurt a ten-year-old child, but they provided an extraordinary visual effect.
The small fireballs flew up one by one, then “bang~ bang~ bang~” they continuously blossomed into a fiery red flower. Little Will turned to another page, and a blue water ball appeared, also flying in a circle before blooming in mid-air into a scattering of blue light, complementing the red and creating a breathtaking display.
“Is this your talent?” Seeing such beautiful yet almost harmless “magic tricks,” Senior Knight Molly’s face darkened. Was this guy playing make-believe? What good would this talent be when the All-Purpose House was fighting monsters?
Little Will shrugged slightly, “I’ve only recently acquired my talent, and its development requires magic power, which I currently lack. Relying purely on external magic power requires a large investment. This enchanted item was improved by my grandfather’s old friend, using a magic-gathering disk as a base to create a rudimentary witch artifact, and it’s currently the most suitable equipment for me. My weak power is understandable; firstly, I’m using very little magic power, and secondly, I’m not letting these magic powers fully erupt, but rather using them just right, primarily for their aesthetic effect.”
“Once it gains popularity, this place can host various performances, mainly by young people, and even school-based events. For example, our school’s celebration activities could definitely be held here. Also, there are banquets, weddings, and even various high-end product launches.” Little Will’s words sent Senior Knight Molly into endless reverie.
“Ahem, a few thousand gold coins is indeed a bit too much for a child like you, so I won’t make it difficult for you.” Senior Knight Molly’s gaze fell upon the opera house contract, as if she saw a pile of glittering gold coins.
“I can give you a discount on my appearance fee, but you’ll need to negotiate the appearance fees for the animal trainers and singers yourself. Whether you can persuade the middle school to cooperate depends on your own influence. The animal trainer’s pets belong to them, and for subsequent business negotiations, you’d best find a professional to handle them, as you don’t have that talent.” Little Will’s words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Senior Knight Molly’s head, “saving” her from her fantasy.
