Chapter Index

Autumn passed and winter came, and the annual heavy snow once again covered the Taikun Mountain Range.

Li Qingqiu stood at the peak of Qingxiao Mountain, gazing into the distance. Among the mountains, many Disciples were traveling on swords, flying in all directions, looking quite chaotic.

Today was the day the Sect Protection Array would be formed. All the Disciples were excited and wanted to witness this historical moment, which was why it was so chaotic.

This Sect Protection Array had been in preparation for over a decade and finally, with Wei Tianxiong’s empowerment, it was successfully completed today.

One figure after another walked over, appearing on both sides of Li Qingqiu. To his right was Jiang Zhaoxia, and to his left was Zhang Yuchun. Li Dongyue, Wu Maner, Li Sifeng, and Li Sijin stood lined up on either side.

The seven of them watched the mist rising in the distance, looking like a cluster of Dragons twisting. They felt very excited and deeply moved.

“It’s been twenty-eight years. Without realizing it, Master has been gone for so long,” Winter Moon said with emotion.

Zhang Yuchun said wistfully, “Master left to seek Immortals, yet he didn’t know that an Immortal was right here on Qingxiao Mountain. If he knew about the current Qingxiao Sect, I wonder what he would think.”

The snow fell harder and harder. Flakes landed on the seven of them, quickly melting into Qi. Wisps of mist surrounded their bodies, making them look even more like Immortals standing on the mountain peak.

“So many years have passed, and there’s still no news of him. Could he have——” Li Sijin asked worriedly.

When Lin Xunfeng left, she was still small; she had almost forgotten what Lin Xunfeng looked like.

Li Sifeng said, “Even in death, there should be remains. The Experience Hall has always kept the mission to find him posted, yet there hasn’t been a shred of news. This indicates he has already left the Nine Provinces Land.”

Li Sijin turned her head to look at him, wanting to ask if Master might have died outside the Nine Provinces Land, but she couldn’t bring herself to say those words.

Li Qingqiu looked toward the horizon and said, “Everyone has their own fate. If we meet again in this life, we shall repay him for raising us. If we cannot meet again, then we will remember him in our hearts.”

He was already forty-four years old. He no longer felt resentment regarding Lin Xunfeng’s departure, only longing and worry.

Without Lin Xunfeng, he would have died long ago, let alone been able to open the dao lineage panel. He was the one who owed Lin Xunfeng; Lin Xunfeng owed him nothing.

If Lin Xunfeng returned, Li Qingqiu would not give back the position of Sect Leader, but he would respect him just as he did True Man Qingxiao.

Although True Man Qingxiao held no real power, everyone knew of his relationship with Li Qingqiu and the others. His status was lofty, and neither Hall Masters nor Aristocratic Families dared to neglect him.

He served as the Deputy Hall Master in the Law Enforcement Hall, providing Chai Yunshang with great assistance.

“I think he might have already found the path to immortality. We must Cultivate hard so that when he returns, he won’t have to teach us how to become Immortals,” Jiang Zhaoxia spoke, his tone carrying a hint of coldness.

Ever since being defeated by Yuan Li, Jiang Zhaoxia had been deeply stimulated. After a long period of secluded meditation, his cultivation had reached the fourth layer of the Spiritual Consciousness Realm, putting him on par with Xu Ning.

His strength had made a leap in progress, but he did not go to find Yuan Li again because he felt it was still not enough.

Wu Maner chuckled and said, “No matter how powerful Master is, he couldn’t possibly be as powerful as Senior Brother.”

No one could refute these words, because no matter how many Prodigies or powerful experts the School welcomed, no one could ever shake Li Qingqiu’s position.

Absolute power is based upon absolutely powerful strength.

Zhang Yuchun looked at Li Qingqiu and asked curiously, “Senior Brother, just how high is your cultivation now? You can reveal it to us, right?”

The others all looked at Li Qingqiu as well.

Facing the gazes of his Junior Brothers and Junior Sisters, the corners of Li Qingqiu’s mouth curled up as he said, “Within three years, I will strike for the Great Realm above the Spiritual Consciousness Realm.”

As soon as these words were spoken, all the Junior Brothers and Junior Sisters looked at him in shock.

Among them, only Jiang Zhaoxia had reached the Spiritual Consciousness Realm, while the others were still struggling with it. Yet Li Qingqiu was already about to surpass it?

They knew that Li Qingqiu hadn’t been Cultivating much longer than they had.

Jiang Zhaoxia was deeply affected. From his perspective, he could feel the terrifying nature of Li Qingqiu even more.

There were so many Geniuses in the School, but no matter who they were, they were nothing compared to Li Qingqiu.

The most terrifying Genius was actually their Senior Brother!

Li Sifeng was similarly affected; he hadn’t expected the gap between himself and his Senior Brother to be so vast.

Li Qingqiu looked left and right and said, “What’s with those expressions? Shouldn’t you be happier the stronger I am? Once I reach a higher Realm, there will be more ways I can help you. You must never give up on your Cultivation. I will do my utmost to push you forward on the path of Immortal Ascension. Of the seven of us, not one can be left behind.”

These words moved everyone, including Jiang Zhaoxia.

No matter how many people were in the School, they were still the most important in their Senior Brother’s heart.

Winter Moon smiled and said, “Senior Brother, don’t worry. We definitely won’t give up on Cultivating. We still want to watch you become an Immortal.”

Li Qingqiu looked at her and said, “We will become Immortals together.”

    “Yes, become Immortals together.”

Winter Moon’s smile was so gentle, yet within that gentleness was a trace of determination.

The others chimed in one after another, their words filled with longing for the future.

Especially Li Sijin and Wu Maner; they truly believed Li Qingqiu’s words and weren’t worried about their cultivation at all.

    Rumble—

A massive roaring sound echoed between heaven and earth, and even Qingxiao Mountain trembled slightly.

The seven of them looked forward together. The snow-mist shrouding the Taikun Mountain Range began to churn, a truly magnificent sight.

“This Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation is truly majestic. To think such a grand Formation is only named ‘Lesser Heavenly Cycle,’ Wei Tianxiong is truly extraordinary!” Zhang Yuchun remarked with emotion.

Li Qingqiu smiled without saying a word. With the rise of the Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation, the Qingxiao Sect finally had true self-preservation capabilities and wouldn’t have its headquarters raided by enemies again.

There was one inconvenience: Disciples could no longer enter and exit freely; they had to use the eighteen array gates. But that was something that could be overcome.

On Ziyang Peak, upon a cliff, sat a courtyard.

A three or four-year-old boy sat on a small stool, curiously watching the clouds and mist churning on the horizon.

A woman in green clothes walked out of the house carrying a wooden basin. She looked at her grandson with a smile on her face and asked, “Lin’er, what are you looking at?”

The young Jia Lin raised his finger toward the horizon and asked, “Grandmother, what’s going on there?”

The woman in green looked up and smiled. “That is the Sect Protection Array. Once this Formation is complete, we’ll never have to worry about demons or ghosts invading our sect again.”

Hearing this, Jia Lin’s eyes were filled with longing. He turned to look at the woman in green and asked, “Grandmother, can I Cultivate in the future?”

“Of course you can. Your father and mother are both Qingxiao Sect Disciples, and so was your grandfather. You will be too, and so will your children. Our Jia Clan will follow the Qingxiao Sect forever,” the woman in green said with a warm smile. She carried the wooden basin to the well and began to draw water.

Jia Lin looked at her and asked, “Grandmother, what kind of person was my grandfather? I heard he knew the Sect Leader?”

Although he was only four years old, he spoke clearly. In the secular world, he would be considered a child Prodigy, but in the Qingxiao Sect, it wasn’t much.

So many Disciples had children within the sect. The Qingxiao Sect had focused on education for twenty years. Regardless of whether they were officially enrolled, as long as they lived within the Taikun Mountain Range, they could go to School for free.

Of course, the most important thing was that children born to Cultivators would gain intelligence earlier.

“Your grandfather… he wasn’t a good person before. Fortunately, he met the Sect Leader and turned back from his wrong path. He was very unkind to me, and unkind to your father and the others, but he died for us——”

The woman in green spoke softly. Recalling the past, she wasn’t sad; a faint smile played on her face.

Jia Lin listened very intently. He had heard before that his grandfather died in a battle protecting the sect, which was why the Sect Leader allowed their Family to live within the Qingxiao Sect for generations.

He was very curious about the Jia Clan’s past. Even at his young age, he already had the ambition to revitalize the Family.

When the woman in green finished telling the story of his grandfather Jia Yi’s past, Jia Lin was somewhat disappointed.

In his view, if Jia Yi hadn’t died in that demonic calamity, the Jia Clan wouldn’t have been kept by the sect at all.

“Grandmother, can I take the entrance examination when I’m six?” Jia Lin asked expectantly.

The woman in green smiled and said, “Yes. Cherish these two years of leisure. Once you become a Qingxiao Sect Disciple, your days won’t be this relaxed anymore.”

Jia Lin looked back toward the horizon. The magnificent sight stirring the sky filled his heart with infinite anticipation.

After the Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation was formed, a faint white light screen appeared at the edge of the Taikun Mountain Range. Some Disciples were curious about the strength of the array and tried to test it, only to find that the white light screen was exceptionally hard and would even reflect their Origin Qi, causing their blood and Qi to churn.

As the strength of the Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation was verified, all the Disciples cheered.

Another monument was erected on the Road of Dao Construction in front of Xuanxin Hall, recording Wei Tianxiong’s contributions to the sect.

More and more Disciples learned that the Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation was the work of Elder Wei Tianxiong of Tiangong Hall, causing Wei Tianxiong’s name to spread rapidly.

    ——

Wei Tianxiong also learned of this. On the surface, he didn’t seem to care, but Li Qingqiu saw that his loyalty to the Sect Leader had increased by a full three points.

The magnificence and power of the Lesser Heavenly Cycle Luo Formation also made the upcoming Lunar New Year even more lively.

As the end of the year approached, the eighteen array gates of the Taikun Mountain Range became crowded. Whether they were pilgrims, nobles, or Qingxiao Sect Disciples, everyone had to queue to enter the mountain.

No one dared to complain; there was only wonder at the array.

Standing before the Formation’s light screen, what they felt was grandeur. The white light connecting to the firmament filled them with awe, while they wondered how such an array was formed.

    Inside Lingxiao Courtyard.

Li Qingqiu was listening to Chu Jing’s report on the situation of each hall.

The Immortal Guard led by Chu Jing had expanded to fifty people. Their loyalty to Li Qingqiu was extremely high, and their lowest cultivation was at the Nourishing Origin Realm Seventh Layer.

The Immortal Guard was responsible for monitoring the power-holders at all levels of the sect, including the Aristocratic Families.

The sect seemed harmonious, but in reality, many problems were hidden. After all, people are selfish and would more or less seek benefits for themselves.

Fortunately, the Hall Masters hadn’t run into problems yet, so no major disturbances could be stirred up for now.

After Chu Jing finished his report, Li Qingqiu suddenly thought of something and asked, “How many children does Jia Ming have?”

Chu Jing remembered Jia Ming; he even remembered Jia Ming’s father, Jia Yi. He just didn’t understand why Li Qingqiu paid so much attention to Jia Yi’s descendants and even had him take extra care of them in secret.

“Currently, he has only fathered one son,” Chu Jing answered truthfully.
