Chapter Index

“Hahaha…” Hearing this, the Beast God suddenly burst into a fit of loud laughter, his voice tinged with arrogance and disdain.

“In this world, you are the first one who dares to speak to me like this. However, I like your arrogance. After all, arrogance with substance is called confidence; without it, it’s just stupidity.” His crimson pupils narrowed slightly, and the black-red malevolence around him surged like a living thing.

Hearing this, Yu Xian merely smiled and shook his head gently, not responding to the Beast God’s words.

Seeing Yu Xian like this, the crimson in the Beast God’s eyes intensified, and the malevolence around him suddenly surged. The black-red mist that had merely been lingering around him instantly transformed into a turbulent tide, sweeping out in all directions.

“What are you laughing at?” the Beast God questioned.

“I think you’re very pitiful. You were created by Ling Long using malevolence to form your body and essence blood to grant you spirit. You have no father or mother, no clan to belong to. You are neither a god who controls heaven and earth, nor a demon who wreaks havoc on the mortal world, and certainly not an ordinary Yao Beast or human.”

“You are merely an outcast of this world, accepted by neither heaven nor earth, nor by any living being; you were born an anomaly.”

“Ling Long is your creator and your only light, yet her feelings toward you were always filled with contradiction.”

“She granted you sapience, taught you to speak, and helped you understand the world, yet because of your identity as the Origin of malevolence, she always harbored wariness toward you. Ultimately, for the sake of the world’s common people, she even sealed you in the Ancient Demon-Suppressing Cave for eight hundred years.”

“Tsk tsk, how pitiful!” Yu Xian looked as if he truly sympathized with the Beast God.

“You pity me?” The coldness on the Beast God’s face deepened, and a terrifying killing intent surged in his crimson pupils. The black-red malevolence around him churned violently like boiling lava.

    Yu Xian nodded very seriously.

“You’re looking for death!” The Beast God was clearly enraged by Yu Xian. Before his voice even faded, he lunged his right hand forward, and a ball of energy as black as ink condensed in his palm. Within the energy ball, countless vengeful souls could be faintly seen roaring, emitting a heart-palpitating Aura of destruction.

Although Yu Xian was positioned in the air, he had long been on guard against the Beast God. Seeing the energy ball take shape in the Beast God’s palm, he lightly tapped the void with his toes, his figure shifting several yards sideways like a ghost, just in time to avoid the black beam carrying endless malevolence.

The black beam grazed his sleeve and shot downward, slamming into the open ground outside the walls of Luo Shen Pass. It exploded into a bottomless crater, with black mist swirling inside, and even the hard rocks melted with a sizzling sound.

Standing in his new position, Yu Xian’s robes fluttered in the gale. In his hand was the Zhu Xian Sword, its blade flowing with a gentle spiritual light that formed a sharp contrast with the Beast God’s malevolence.

“With just these tricks, you cannot harm me,” Yu Xian said calmly.

Seeing Yu Xian holding the Zhu Xian Sword with such a nonchalant air, the killing intent in the Beast God’s crimson eyes intensified. He abruptly spread his arms, and the black-red malevolence around him converged frantically as if summoned, forming a massive sphere of malevolence that blotted out the sun and hovered behind him.

The sphere rotated continuously, emitting a pressure that caused all of Luo Shen Pass to tremble slightly. The Cultivators below the city walls turned pale, and even breathing became difficult for them.

“Very well!!” the Beast God roared. He thrust both hands forward, and the massive sphere of malevolence behind him instantly transformed into a thick black-red pillar of light, hurtling toward Yu Xian with an Aura that could destroy heaven and earth.

Yu Xian remained unmoved. He simply swung the Zhu Xian Sword, and a brilliant golden sword gang burst forth through the air, colliding violently with the black-red pillar of light.

The moment the sword gang and the pillar of light collided, a deafening explosion erupted. Violent shockwaves of energy spread in all directions, tearing through the clouds in the sky.

The golden sword gang, containing the residual power of the Zhu Xian Sword Formation, was incredibly resilient. It actually split the black-red pillar of light right down the middle, causing it to dissipate into a sky full of black-red specks of light.

Seeing this, a solemn expression appeared on the Beast God’s face for the first time. He hadn’t expected Yu Xian to be able to break his attack, which condensed his entire body’s malevolence, with just the power of a single sword strike.

This man holding the Zhu Xian Sword was not easy to deal with!

The Beast God’s red robe then swirled with the astral wind as his malevolence surged toward the sky. His youthful figure twisted and expanded within the black mist, and black-red scales burst through the fog. His ten-zhang-tall colossal body crashed onto the ground, causing the mountains to shake and the earth to split.

Every scale was like cast iron, gleaming with a cold, dark light. Thick malevolence churned between the gaps of the scales, etching scorched black marks upon the ground wherever he stepped.

His head still retained half the silhouette of a youth, yet it bore three spiral-shaped crimson-gold horns. The tips of the horns burned with inextinguishable malevolent fire, and his pupils turned into two spheres of crimson flame, devoid of any emotion, containing only the intent to destroy.

Eight bone spikes grew from his back, sharp as knives and pointing upward ominously. His tailbone transformed into a hundred-zhang-long whip, its length covered in barbs.

His limbs were as thick as heavenly pillars, and his claws glinted with a cold light. Within a hundred-zhang radius, the malevolence rose like a tide, manifesting as countless ghostly shadows of vengeful souls, their wails and howls unending.

Yu Xian narrowed his eyes. This was the Beast God’s combat body, his Vicious Beast form!

“Good timing!” Seeing the Beast God enter his combat body state, Yu Xian’s Battle Intent was also ignited. He raised the Zhu Xian Sword and slashed toward the Beast God, the blade cutting through the sky and bringing forth an incomparably sharp golden Sword Qi that bore down directly on the Beast God’s face.

The Beast God roared, swinging a giant claw to meet the Sword Qi. The scales collided with the Sword Qi, producing a piercing sound of clashing metal and sending sparks flying everywhere.

His massive body was actually shaken back several steps by this strike, and the ground beneath his feet split into hideous ravines.

Although the Beast God was massive, his movements were exceptionally agile. His long tail lashed out like a whip, whistling as it tore through the air, striking at Yu Xian again and again. Eight bone spikes on his back also occasionally fired pitch-black malevolent aura bullets, warping the surrounding space.

For a time, Sword Qi crisscrossed the sky and malevolence filled the air. The figures of the man and the beast clashed rapidly above Luo Shen Pass. Every collision erupted with earth-shattering energy fluctuations, leaving the Cultivators watching below terrified, their very breath stalling.

Seeing that Yu Xian was even more formidable than he had imagined, the Beast God suddenly roared to the sky. malevolence surged wildly, and his ten-zhang body grew by another hundred zhang, blotting out the sky in the form of a Demon God. With three heads and six arms, each holding a massive weapon, his left head was handsome and condensed with obsession, his middle head was a Vicious Beast spitting malevolent fire, and his right head was encased in bone armor swallowing Spiritual Qi, with all three pairs of eyes burning crimson.

His six arms each held weapons formed from malevolence—some were giant axes, some long spears, and some bone claws—each carrying the power to annihilate everything.

He was surrounded by tens of thousands of feet of black-red mist, within which the ghostly images of thousands of Yao Beasts faintly appeared. That was the Origin of the beast tide he had devoured. Wherever the mist reached, astral winds howled and the world changed color. Even the sunlight was completely obscured, leaving only the malevolent fire around him as the sole light in this apocalyptic scene.

“Oho, it looks quite impressive, but it’s still not enough!” Before Yu Xian’s voice even faded, the spiritual power within him suddenly erupted. Ten thousand rays of golden light radiated from him, as if a scorching sun were rising in the center of the battlefield.

The Zhu Xian Sword in his hand let out a clear, resonant hum. Runes flowed upon the blade, and the previously gentle spiritual light instantly became incomparably sharp, causing subtle ripples to appear in the space around the edge of the sword.
