Chapter Index

After The Mystic made his decision, he immediately began setting up defenses. First, he secretly summoned several absolutely trustworthy Elders and informed them in detail about Yu Xian’s discovery and plan within a secret chamber.

The Elders were all shocked to hear that Cang Song might be a traitor, but under The Mystic’s solemn expression and Yu Xian’s meticulous analysis, they realized the gravity of the situation and expressed their willingness to cooperate.

Subsequently, The Mystic began secretly adjusting several key nodes of the mountain protection Grand Array. While it appeared the same on the surface, new countermeasures had already been laid, just waiting for the Demonic Cult to walk into the trap.

At the same time, he impassively dispatched trusted Disciples to strengthen the guards around Tongtian Peak and other important areas of the various branches, especially around Yuqing Hall, where a veritable net had been cast to ensure Cang Song could be controlled in the shortest possible time should he make a move.

Furthermore, The Mystic closely monitored the movements of Cang Song.

All arrangements were carried out silently. The entire Qingyun Sect appeared as calm as usual, as if nothing had happened. Only a few core figures knew that a storm concerning the School’s very survival was imminent.

Yu Xian quietly waited for events to unfold.

As expected, after Zhang Xiaofan was brought back, the three Schools held a joint interrogation of him in Yuqing Hall.

The leaders of the Seven Peaks of the Qingyun Sect were all present, along with many Qingyun Sect Disciples. Yu Xian and Yun Yun were naturally also among them, though they kept a low profile.

The Abbot of Tianyin Temple, Great Master Puhong, Great Master Pukong, and the Elder of Fenxiang Valley, Shangguan Ce, along with a few Disciples from their respective Schools, were also in attendance, solemnly observing Zhang Xiaofan, who was being held in the Hall.

The atmosphere inside Yuqing Hall was so heavy it could almost drip water. Everyone’s gaze was focused on this seemingly ordinary young Disciple who possessed strange power.

Then, Cang Song used the fact that Zhang Xiaofan possessed the Blood Devouring Pearl, the Great Brahma Prajna, and the Fire Stick as evidence to accuse Zhang Xiaofan of being a spy for the Demonic Cult. Tian Buyi argued strenuously, Zeng Buchang mediated, and The Mystic refrained from passing judgment, awaiting further investigation.

Disciples like Lin Jingyu stepped forward to stake their lives guaranteeing him.

Shangguan Ce questioned Zhang Xiaofan’s connection to the Profound Fire Mirror, intensifying the suspicion toward Zhang Xiaofan among the three Schools.

Yu Xian watched with great interest.

“Husband, aren’t you going to say anything?” Yun Yun quietly asked Yu Xian.

“No need, we just watch how things develop,” Yu Xian smiled and shook his head. He had already told The Mystic that if he still fell for the trap, he would have nothing more to say.

Seeing Yu Xian like this, Yun Yun also adopted an air of detachment, standing quietly beside him, her gaze occasionally sweeping over the tense crowd in the Hall but not lingering.

The sounds of debate and questioning rose and fell within the Hall. Zhang Xiaofan kept his head down, his fists clenched, his face pale but showing a trace of stubbornness. Cang Song stood at the head seat, sweeping his gaze coldly over everyone, as if everything was under his control.

Then, Xiao Yifan suddenly and quietly revealed to The Mystic that fiends from the Demonic Cult had already attacked the mountain.

The Mystic frowned upon hearing this. Things were indeed developing as Yu Xian had predicted, so he turned his gaze toward Yu Xian.

Yu Xian nodded to The Mystic.

The Mystic immediately instructed Xiao Yifan to proceed according to the plan, and then continued the joint interrogation.

Finally, Shangguan Ce forced The Mystic to deal with Zhang Xiaofan. Just as The Mystic picked up the Fire Stick ready to punish Zhang Xiaofan, he was bitten by the Seven-Tailed Centipede that Cang Song had placed on it. The Mystic was injured and nearly fell over in a stumble.

Seeing this, Cang Song immediately stepped forward to show concern, then took the opportunity to draw his dagger and stab toward The Mystic.

However, his dagger abruptly stopped as it neared The Mystic, unable to advance even a fraction of an inch further.

Cang Song was astonished because a hand was gripping the hand holding the dagger. He followed that hand upward and met The Mystic’s icy gaze.

“Cang Song, it truly is you!” The Mystic’s voice carried an bone-chilling coldness. His eyes, usually gentle, were now sharp as blades, staring intently at the traitor who had betrayed his School.

Cang Song’s face changed drastically, a flicker of panic crossing his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by ferocity. He suddenly exerted force, trying to break free from The Mystic’s restraint, only to find the grip like iron pincers, unmoving.

The surrounding Elders and Disciples were all stunned speechless by the sudden turn of events. Yuqing Hall instantly fell into a dead silence, only Cang Song’s heavy gasps echoing within the Hall.

“You… you weren’t poisoned?” After regaining his composure, Cang Song realized that The Mystic stood tall and straight, showing no signs of poisoning.

“Are you referring to this?” The Mystic extended his fingers, holding a completely dead centipede between two of them.

It was clear that the centipede was the Seven-Tailed Centipede Cang Song had released.

“How is that possible?” Cang Song was completely dumbfounded.

Had The Mystic seen through his trick in advance? Countless thoughts flashed through Cang Song’s mind. His expression shifted from shock to grimness. He abruptly pulled back the hand being restrained, secretly formed a hand seal with the other hand, and a surge of Devilish Qi erupted around him, clearly indicating he was about to risk everything.

“Since things have been exposed, then don’t blame me for being ruthless!” Before his words finished, he summoned his long sword and swung it directly at The Mystic’s face, while simultaneously retreating rapidly, attempting to rush out of Yuqing Hall to rendezvous with the reinforcements from the Demonic Cult.

“Senior Brother Cang Song, where are you going?” Just as Cang Song was trying to rush out, a demonic voice reached his ear, and immediately, a figure appeared in front of him.

    Yu Xian!

Cang Song’s pupils contracted sharply. He had not expected Yu Xian to block him at this moment.

He had sparred with Yu Xian before. If Yu Xian used his full strength, he could definitely suppress him. If he were entangled here, waiting for The Mystic and the others to catch up, only a dead end awaited him.

“Get out of the way!” Cang Song roared, his sword momentum suddenly accelerating. Sharp Sword Qi, wrapped in heavy Devilish Qi, hacked fiercely toward Yu Xian.

However, Yu Xian merely shifted his body slightly, easily evading the fatal blow, while simultaneously pointing his fingers like a sword toward Cang Song’s wrist.

Cang Song felt his wrist go numb, and his long sword nearly flew out of his hand. He was greatly alarmed and dared not underestimate him any further. He quickly changed his move, his sword shadows flying wildly, every strike vicious, attempting to break through Yu Xian’s obstruction.

But Yu Xian’s movement technique was like a phantom, always managing to evade his attacks at the last second, while continuously closing the distance, forcing him to retreat repeatedly until he was practically cornered with nowhere left to go.

The Elders and Disciples in the Hall finally reacted at this moment, drawing their weapons one after another, surrounding Cang Song and glaring at him.

Cang Song looked at the heavy encirclement before him, then at the calm Yu Xian and the coldly staring The Mystic. He knew he could not escape today, and a look of despair and madness appeared on his face.

Just then, a Disciple shouted: “The Demonic Cult’s fiends have attacked the mountain!”

“Hahahaha…” Cang Song heard it too, and he burst into wild laughter, his laughter filled with triumph and madness, as if he had long anticipated all of this.
