Chapter Index

Wang Yuyan saw the woman on the bed as soon as she came out, her eyebrows arching.

No wonder he didn’t return to the Small World last night; there was someone else out here!

“Brother Yu, who is she?” Wang Yuyan asked curiously.

“Mu Wanqing’s mother, Qin Hongmian. You stay here and keep Mu Wanqing and Zhong Ling busy while I take her back to the Small World. Don’t let Wan Qing know for now,” Yu Xian instructed. He then scooped up the unconscious Qin Hongmian with a quilt and vanished back into the Small World.

He completely failed to notice Wang Yuyan standing there dazed.

Then, moving with extreme speed, he bypassed The Women and placed Qin Hongmian in an empty room, getting her settled.

However, once Yu Xian came out, five pairs of eyes stared at him in unison.

“Tell us, who is it this time? Do we know her?” Ning Zhongze, knowing what the sisters were thinking, was the first to ask.

“Sister Ning, Sister Rong, and Dongfang probably don’t know her, but Qingluo and Sister Dao should,” Yu Xian said with a smile.

Li Qingluo and Dao Baifeng exchanged a look and said in unison, “Duan Zhengchun’s lover?”

Yu Xian didn’t dare stay in the Small World for long, as the gazes of The Women at home were almost enough to kill him!

Moreover, Wang Yuyan and the others were waiting for him outside, so after instructing them to keep an eye on Qin Hongmian to prevent her from committing suicide, he fled.

Returning to the Inn, Yu Xian saw that Wang Yuyan wasn’t in the room; she had likely gone to find Mu Wanqing and the others. Glancing at the mess on the bed, he understood why Wang Yuyan didn’t want to stay there. Thus, he also headed out to find Mu Wanqing and the rest.

Meanwhile, Mu Wanqing, Wang Yuyan, and Zhong Ling were sitting at a table in the Inn’s lobby, eating.

As soon as Yu Xian appeared, Zhong Ling said with a giggle, “Brother-in-law, you big lazybones, only getting up now? The sun is already high in the sky!”

“Ling’er, why did you all get up so early? Didn’t you sleep well last night?” Yu Xian asked, changing the subject.

“Don’t even mention it. For some reason last night, I kept hearing strange noises that kept me awake. This Inn is really terrible!” Zhong Ling grumbled.

Then, Wang Yuyan and Mu Wanqing stared fixedly at Yu Xian.

“Why are you two looking at me like that?” Yu Xian looked at Mu Wanqing and Wang Yuyan, puzzled.

Wang Yuyan remained silent; as someone who was no longer inexperienced, she immediately knew what Zhong Ling was referring to. Combined with the fact that Qin Hongmian was still unconscious when she returned, she knew how fierce the battle had been.

Mu Wanqing’s gaze was somewhat profound, and she couldn’t stop glancing back and forth between Yu Xian and Wang Yuyan.

“Can you two… exercise some restraint?” Mu Wanqing finally said.

“Huh? Sister Mu, restraint for what?” Zhong Ling asked while happily eating.

“Kids shouldn’t ask questions; this isn’t something you should be inquiring about,” Mu Wanqing snapped at Zhong Ling.

“Oh,” Zhong Ling replied obediently, continuing to bury her head in her food.

Wang Yuyan’s lips twitched at the words. They had been out together for a few days, and in reality, she and Yu Xian returned to the Small World every night, since she alone was no match for him.

At this moment, she had a mischievous urge to shout: ‘That was your mother last night, not me!’

However, she just thought it; they were all sisters, after all.

“Ahem, Wan Qing, how about you join us tonight too?” Yu Xian looked at Mu Wanqing with a wicked grin.

“Hmph! In your dreams!” Mu Wanqing shot Yu Xian a fierce glare.

Yu Xian wanted to tease Mu Wanqing some more, but at that moment, a man in his thirties, dressed simply but with a somewhat refined air, walked toward their table.

After approaching, he bowed to them and asked Yu Xian, “May I ask if Your Excellency is Young Master Yu, Yu Xian of Beyond the Heavens?”

“Hmm? Yes, what can I do for you?” Yu Xian nodded slightly and asked.

“I am a disciple of Mr. Congbian from the Deaf-Mute Valley. Following my master’s orders, I have come to deliver an invitation to Young Master Yu, inviting you to Leigu Mountain to break the Zhenlong Chess Game with Mr. Congbian.” As the middle-aged man spoke, he pulled an invitation from his robe and respectfully handed it to Yu Xian.

“Leigu Mountain? Brother-in-law, isn’t that where we’re heading?” Zhong Ling asked Yu Xian curiously upon hearing this.

The middle-aged man was startled and asked, “Is Young Master Yu currently heading to Leigu Mountain?”

“Yes, I happened to hear about the Zhenlong Chess Game and wanted to discuss it with Mr. Su. I didn’t expect to receive an invitation,” Yu Xian replied with a smile.

Of course, he wouldn’t tell this man that he was taking Wang Yuyan to absorb Wuya Zi’s cultivation.

As for the Zhenlong Chess Game, he had no interest in it. What he was interested in was whether he could obtain some Xiaoyao Sect Cultivation Techniques at Leigu Mountain.

Hearing this, the middle-aged man felt slightly relieved. Although Yu Xian was a talented young man, his reputation wasn’t great, and he feared Yu Xian was going to Leigu Mountain to cause trouble. If he was just there to explore the Zhenlong Chess Game, that was for the best.

“In that case, I shall await Young Master Yu’s arrival at Leigu Mountain.” The middle-aged man bowed to Yu Xian again and then turned to leave.

“So Brother-in-law even knows how to play chess!” Zhong Ling was still full of curiosity; Yu Xian seemed like a Treasure Trove she constantly wanted to explore.

“So you want to solve the Zhenlong Chess Game. Are you confident?” Mu Wanqing only now learned the purpose of their trip to Leigu Mountain, becoming more curious about Yu Xian.

“Brother Yu doesn’t know how to play chess,” Wang Yuyan suddenly said.

    “What?”

    “He doesn’t?”

Mu Wanqing and Zhong Ling both looked at Yu Xian in surprise.

You don’t know how to play chess, yet you want to discuss solving the Zhenlong Chess Game with them? Are you joking?

Yu Xian nodded affirmatively. “I really don’t.”

He saw that Ning Zhongze and Huang Rong were very good at chess, but he just wasn’t. It was good enough if he could understand the basics; he just couldn’t learn it!

He didn’t want to learn either; it was too much of a mental strain and a waste of time!

“Then you still want to solve the Zhenlong Chess Game?” Mu Wanqing asked, puzzled.

“I’ll just go take a look; there’s nothing to lose! Mainly, I’m taking Yu Yan around for a walk. Besides, now that the invitation has arrived, I have even more reason to go,” Yu Xian grumbled. He wasn’t going there to play chess; he was just going to Sign-in!

Mu Wanqing nodded. Indeed, since they had accepted the invitation, they had to go, and it wouldn’t hurt to take a look. So, she said nothing more.

“Alright, let’s eat. Once we’re full, we’ll continue our journey.” Yu Xian had been busy all night and then moved back and forth from the Small World; he was indeed hungry.

After the meal, the group continued their journey toward Leigu Mountain.

However, Mu Wanqing’s gaze drifted toward Yu Xian and Wang Yuyan from time to time, as if she were still wondering how the two of them had spent the entire night.

The sounds she heard last night were quite intense, so how was it that Wang Yuyan seemed perfectly fine now?

Later, during another break, Mu Wanqing pulled Wang Yuyan aside and asked quietly, “Yu Yan, are you really okay?”

Wang Yuyan was confused. “What would be wrong with me?”
